Got Expired Coupons?! Send Them to US Military Members Stationed Overseas!
(If you took the time to clip and organize your coupons, but just didn’t have time or an opportunity to use them before they expired, you can still put them to good use. U.S. military families stationed overseas are able to use coupons on base for up to SIX MONTHS after the manufacturer’s expiration date! Tips for organizing your expired coupons:
(1) Be sure to cut the coupons (i.e. do not send the whole insert with all the junk pages); this will help reduce the postage costs for you
(2) Divide the coupons into 4 plastic bags with the following labels: Baby, Pets, Food and Non-Food
(3) Do not send internet coupons as families overseas already have access to these coupons

I would save ours up and send them directly to a friend in Japan. What ever she and her friends didn’t need or use she left in the coupon box at the front of the commissary. She said that baby item coupons were always appreciated.
Thank you so much for this information! We don’t have kids so I’m always throwing away all of the baby coupons and most of the food coupons (all of the boxed/ processed stuff.) I’ll be happy to sort, label and mail them off.

Just curious why we should not send internet coupons. Even if they already have access to a computer couldn’t they use multiples also?
Its really a good idea in general to not share internet printables with someone you dont know. Its at your own risk to leave them on shelves coupon fairy style as someone who doesnt know any better can copy them and use the copies. It leaves you at risk for fraud, yes its an extream senario but possible.

Coups for Troops (facebook) is another program that sends them to the troops. Each state has about a couple of different locations where you can mail or drop off if its near you.
We always need coupons here in South Korea. Milk is crazy expensive and produce is a special treat this summer watermelons where 15 bucks and they were small !!

When you go to the post office, let them know that you are shipping “media”. This will be a shipping fee of only $2.85 instead of by weight
Coupons are not media mail. That is mail fraud and it is a BIG fine. They do get regularly inspected.
Im leaving for Japan in October I have tried to save all i can since I will literally need to start my WHOLE kitchen from scratch. I appreciate all of you who participate in such a program or individually do this cause can you imagine the expense? I will find out how much it will cost here shortly! :((

Just to clarify…If the expired coupons are more than 6 months old, don’t bother sending them to troops overseas?
I have actually read you should not send coupons that are more than 1 or 2 months expired because they need time to make it to the country, be sorted, and passed out to the military families. But they can use the coupons for 6 months beyond the expiration date that’s printed on the coupons.

If you live near a military post you can take the expires coupons to the ACS building (Army Community Service) and they will mail them. If its another branch of service, contact their community center and find out where to take the coupons. Thank you for helping out military families.
We just got back from living overseas, with exchange rates thing could get expensive. I can’t tell you what a blessing it was to be able to use those coupons that people sent, every little bit helped. They really are appreciated.
