I have been wanting one of these! I think it is time to take the leap and purchase it!

  2. Jackie

Do you think this is a good pot for making soups and sauces? Or is it more of a roasting braising pot? Thanks!

    • Kim

We use ours for soup, sauces, and roasts. Love it!

I have a round one and it’s great for either stove top or oven. When you follow the link above, it looks like these are oval shaped, which would be good for the oven but I’m not sure how well an oval one would work for the stove top. Might be a problem with uneven heating.

I have an oval one and only use it on the stove top and have never had a problem with uneven heating. These things are AMAZING!

Can you use this on a glass top stove?

    • Kim

      Yes

    • Ali

you can, but be careful…they will scratch the cooktop.

    • Gina

I’ve used mine for five years on a glass top stove and it hasn’t scratched it – but I’m careful. I love mine.

Does anyone know if it is made in china?

    • Jennifer M.

If you look under the “specs” tab at the link above it states “Made in China”… HTH

anyone know how this compares with the Tramontina cast iron dutch oven? They seem to be about the same price and America’s Test Kitchen gave Tramontina high marks

  6. Raeme

My boss has been wanting one for bigger roast etc would this be the one?

  7. Guest

Raeme, if you know anyone with a Costco membership ask to go with them because they’ve got a great one that I believe is 8 qts? not sure on exact size but it’s HUGE and is only about 70 or so bucks.
