🙁 I go every year for the past 5 years and I don’t see anything “worth it” from toys r us this year. Thanks for posting! I really appreciate it

    • Brooke Watson

I’m not impressed either. I’ve enjoyed all the recent toy deals though–I’m already done shopping! So in a way I’m kinda relieved–My budget is blown.

    • A

Totally agree, not worth hitting up for the last several year at Toys R Us, at least for us “hipsters!” 🙂

  2. JayGirl

Anyone know if these deals will be good online too?

    • annad

I believe all the first 4 hour sale items. Like gge furbee and leappad

    • Heather

Last year, I was able to get all of the deals online that I wanted for the most part.. I was surprised! You will need to act quickly though because some may sell out. Honestly, not too impressed with all of the Black Friday deals I have seen so far. With the hours cutting into Thanksgiving dinner.. I doubt I’ll even shop Black “Thursday” this year. I’ll probably stick to online, or stick with the great Amazon deals that are sure to come.

I stocked up at Target for most of my son’s gifts.. when everything on clearance went to 70% off. He got 7 HUGE lego sets and I spent less than $120. 🙂 Would have been tons more otherwise! I got my daughter an American Girl doll + the set for only $58 shipped last month.. and been picking up various other items for them both here & there.

On another note, my daughter wants a ride on car (battery operated).. I haven’t seen any great deals on any that she wants.. hoping to see some soon!

      • Katie

How did you get an American Girl doll for so cheap??!?

        • shannon

I’d like to know about deals on American girl too.

  3. Angela

a few of the items are actually Friday 5 am doorbusters… like the Lego City Town Square for $74.99 …. sigh…. is the effort worth the $60 savings?

  4. Jenny

I can get these kind of deals all year… Im a little disappointed… the average is 50% off… I follow Hip2Save so much, I know Ive seen these prices this past year…

    • Heather

You sound like me! Following Hip2Save & scouting deals myself.. I get better than Black Friday deals on most of the smaller ticket items I purchase. I keep a locked gift closet at home and purchase all year long. 🙂

  5. Heather

Are the prices during thrusday 4 hour sale online ?

  6. Katie

I so hope the Leap Pad (older version) will be on sale online! I have a real problem actually going out and shopping ON Thanksgiving. Fingers crossed that I can find those same prices for cyber Monday!!

    • Heather

It will definitely go on sale at Kmart.com before Christmas – just FYI. The Innotab2 went on sale for $36 already. I’m sure the Leappad will have a similar sale like last year.

      • Ashlie

Where is the Innotab2 on sale at?

      • Katie

        Wow! Thanks, Heather!

    • Valerie H

I got the Leapster Explorer GS on Amazon last year after Black Friday for $23 (more than half off). I’m sure you’ll be able to find a great deal.

  7. Katie

Is the Leappad Explorer good for a 3 yr old? Can they operate it without help? Trying to decide between one of these or a DVD player for the car.

    • Heather

My son played with his siter leaped at 3 he loved it !!!

    • Sara

My daughter is four and I thought about getting her one of those leappad. But honestly, I think she’s too advanced. She knows how to operate my phone better than me! I’ll probably get her a regular tablet. Then I can use it too 😉

      • Heather

A great idea! However, the Leappads are good for ages up to 8 🙂

      • LaShaun

Last year we bought our grandkids who at the time 3 years old, the Kindle Fire for $129 on Amazon. My granddaughter had the Leappad however she was all ready adjusted to the quick responce of the touch screen and would get frustrated as the Leappad is slow compared to the Ipads or tablets. Plus, on the Kindle we could still get alot of game apps for free vs the approx $30 per game cartridge for the Leappad. Plus, I can access Netflix or Hula for any movie we allow them to watch or download books to read. The better value for us was the Kindle Fire for the kids. I’ve never really shopped in the stores on Black Friday because I found there is too much impulse buying and then just making trips back to return those items that just wasn’t necessary or on my list. Plus, my patients is very limited anymore. 🙂

    • Heather

Katie, yes, I think so! I purchased one for my daughter last Christmas (she was 3 then) and she still loves it. I plan to get her all of the newer games (McStuffins & Sofia) that came out this year as some of her Christmas gifts.

    • Rebecca

I would recommend a kindle fire over any leapster product. A kindle will grow with them and has way more possibilities.

      • Nicole Thomas

I agree… go with a tablet… my children got their first iPod touches at 3 & 5, then we moved onto the tablets 2 Christmas’ ago at 5 & 7… the kiddos these days are so much more advanced with technology. Just purchased the Nexus 7 for my 9yo, as my 7 yo’s started to freeze up. My children use them everyday…from TV time, to game time, to study time ( school website spelling words activities), to reading on Overdrive (our public library online). **there are parental controls options available on Nexus 7 and the newer tablets. Happy shopping 🙂

    • Anna

my son will be three and after all the reviews I will def be getting this for him. All good reviews online. Just have to buy the charger cord

    • Valerie H

I got Leapster Explorer GS’s for both my boys last year when they were 2 and 4. Two was too young but he’s almost three now and loves it. My almost 5 year old would play it all day long if I let him. I highly recommend them.

    • makaylaisabel

I bought this for my six year old and three year old last year. They used it a while. I would spend not he car charger and/or wall charger as their battery life is ridiculous. The games also are about $25 unless you get them on sale bogo50% or amazon. However, I wouldn’t think they’ll get more than a year. My children got bored within a six month and I practically had to beg them to sit with them for the learning apps, etc. We got them on sale and still over $100 each in games, etc so I don’t think it was worth the money. This year, against my better judgement my sever year old will be getting a tablet. I have wifi everywhere with it unlike my iPad and can print extra coupons if need to even though it will be hers. Im not the usual parents who hands her phone over like others do, but realistically the kids are smart enough to use the device and you should be a good enough parent to monitor the use and time them so they’re not glued on it all day. PS. The three year old was only able to use some of it with help from her sister and pestering me lol I love her but no too young. Don’t give it unless you expect to be glued to it as well.

    • Jennifer

My 2.5 year old can operate the LeapPad. You may have to help your little one initially but it probably won’t take them too long to get the hang of it. My daughter could do it on her own in 3-4 days. It’s just finding titles that aren’t too hard that they will be interested in.

    • Nicole

My niece will be 7 in a couple of weeks and she still plays hers. She is getting new games for christmas. I like the idea that she can not go on the web without permission. She has an ipod an access to our main computer but she prefers her leappad. I honestly think it is the child. She is a sponge and likes learning games not all the wii or app stuff unless it is reading or learning. I know she is kinda a nerd. Very good investment on our part. We went from a leapster 2 to a leappad. Would purchase it again in a heartbeat. Just my opinion.

  8. Jennifer

My kids want the skylanders swamp force starter pack and the Disney infinity starter pack. I haven’t seen it that low anywhere else but I hate to miss dinner and time with the family for that. Why are they open so early. If they had been open at midnight this wouldn’t be a problem!

    • A

Total bummer that they are open this early.

    • makaylaisabel

This is what we’re getting. Walmart is opened on Thanksgiving always, keep an eye out for them saying they will price match Black friday ads because then you can go there, grab your items, wait tip 5 and ring out. 🙂 This is my plan for these two items as well. It should be in and out rather than camping out at TRU.

      • Elaine

Walmart is not price matching on black Friday.

        • Ketsy

As of now. Last year they changed last minute and allowed it as well. Here’s to hoping. Maybe when all the ads come out and they see the competition, they will.

    • Nicole

Yes Walmart will match ads but they will not do the christmas ad match. There is a difference.

  9. Audrey

Does Toys R Us accept coupons on Black Friday? Will Target price match ads on Black Friday?

    • Sara

I used coupons last year with no problem. I know Walmart will price match but not sure about Target.

    • Bianca

I was wondering if any of the stores would price match Black Friday ads too

    • Christine

Wal-Mart ad on tv says they won’t match Thursday or Friday ads. Will any store do this?

    • teaching3boys

I’m pretty sure Target announced that they will be price matching black Friday ads.

    • Nicole

Walmart will do their regular price match on black friday. They are not doing the Christmas ad match. They are 2 totally different things. One call to customer service and that was what I was told.

  10. Andrea

The only thing I’d be interested in would be the train table. Thanks to your efforts and all the good deals posted throughout the year there’s nothing here I even remotely care about :).

    • Shayla

me too; however, I am not interested in dealing with the crowds. It was a mess last year and not planning on repeating anytime soon!

    • Caitlin

I bought it online on my phone while standing in line at the store in 2011 for the same price. Might check on that!

  11. Heather B.

I agree with everyone else, I’m not impressed. I’ve been able to score MUCH better deals recently at Target and Toys R Us with stacking coupons and sales. (Thanks Collin!) This same thing happened to me last year and I ended up scoring way better deals on line with Amazon’s lightning deals.

  12. Sarah

The BF ad for Toysrus I saw had the Fisher Price Little People Disney Princess Palace for $24.99 from 5-9pm Thursday. After coupon the Palace would only be $14.99!!! I don’t know if I saw an incorrect ad or you just missed it……. 🙂

    • Anna

ohhh thanks i will jump on this deal too

  13. Tomoko

I really hope I can get a Skylanders SWAP Force Starter Pack. I found a $10 off coupon inside a Frito-Lay 20 singels bag.

    • ashley

I need a $10 off coupon! Was the bag marked on the outside?

      • makaylaisabel

Be careful because some of the coupons expire the 17th and some the 30th so you may be short a coupon and have extra potato chips. Yes, bags are marked with the characters on the outside.

  14. Heather

I got some of the $1 Cody Simpson dolls today for our donate pile!

  15. Jasmine

Does anyone have that imagination train table? Is it huge and is it nice? My son’s room is very small but he wants “toy train” for Christmas.

    • Katie

Do you like to DIY? Google Young House Love’s DIY train table. We did this last year for the cost of a wooden train set on a good BF sale, and it fits under the bed when she’s not playing with it.

    • JD

I got this last yr on BF and my now 3 yr old loves it (he was 2 and 1/2 last Xmas). It’s 3×3′ and about waist high on him. It comes with enough track/pieces to satisfy him but we bought some Thomas stuff for him for his stocking.

  16. Amani

Does anyone know if i can get a price adjustment on previously purchased items?

    • Nicole

The answer is no. They are not doing the christmas ad match on Black friday or Saturday ads. From anywhere. They will however do the regular ad match.

  17. kristina

Hmm Ma doesn’t allow stored to be open on Thanksgiving and they can’t open until 12:01 Friday morning.. so guess the thursday deals are out for us! Figures too, skylanders is the only thing he asked for!

    • kristina

      stores*

  18. christina

I have the table, its not huge. It definitely needs some accessories to go with it, my son was bored with it, its sitting in the garage now.

  19. Angela D.

I will deff be getting the Monster High house for 29.99! Or price match at Walmart if I need to.

  20. Andrew

I like the LOGO board game deal for $3 however, today I signed up for my FREE Amazon prime trial because Amazon matches these type of deals.

  21. liza

the cody simpson doll is .50 now and the the yahtzee scrabble will be 3 on sunday

  22. elpg

Went to toys r us today (murray location). Cody Simpson basic doll is $1

  23. Gina

I think my black Friday shopping will all be online as usual. This toys r us ad isn’t very exciting and I thought the toy book deals that came out a week ago was also disappointing.

  24. Ashley

The TRU ad for this week says that RewardsRUs members will have a preview of Black Friday deals on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Can’t wait to see what those are!

    • Annie

Did they do this last year? Does anyone no any more details?

  25. connie

I forget who ships for free when you have membership. you go to their site and they have stores they ship for free. besides ebay

  26. Ann

Does anyone know what their boxes of diapers usually sell for? Do they also run that deal online?
