If you’re in need of Christmas lights and have a CVS nearby, here’s a great deal you can score! As I mentioned in the CVS Weekly Deals, through 12/7, whenever you spend $30 or more on Christmas Home Decor, Merry Brite Lighting, Trim-a-Tree and Toys, you’ll get back a $10 Extra Buck reward.

Even sweeter, it appears that the Merry Brite 100ct Light Sets are on sale for $4.99 each BUT you’ll save an additional $3.98 at checkout for every 2 boxes purchased! Check out this possible deal scenario…

Spend $30 on Christmas Home Decor, Merry Brite Lighting, Trim-a-Tree and Toys = $10 Ecb (limit 1)
Deal Scenario:
Buy 6 boxes Merry Brite Lights $4.99
Total = $29.94
Minus $11.94 for buying 6 boxes
Pay $18
Get back $10 Ecb
Final cost $8 for all 6 boxes – just $1.33 each! Nice price!

Hopefully your store is well stocked with these lights like my friend Erica’s local CVS was! 🙂

(Thanks, Cortney!)

Are these connectable end to end????

  2. Hong

If you buy 6 boxes, you are still 6 cents short of $30. Would you still get the $10 EB?

    • Katie

Yes. As long as you spend 98% of the requirement, you get the ecb.

    • Emmi

CVs goes by the “98% rule”, so you only have to buy 98% and the ECB will still print.

      • Sheila S

That’s good to know — I’ve already bought extra items in the past because I was short a few cents.

        • visitor3

          Me, too, great tip!

  3. Lindsay

Great price! Walmarts cheapest box of lights is $2.50

  4. zoe

man i hope they will be there when my husband gets home at 5:30 from work! these look amazing, we need something just for this year super cheap but ok looking. we are moving to germany soon and wont be able to use american lights there anyway. therefore they will be given to the less fortunate after this season!

  5. Candace

My ad says that the Merry Brite “100 ct” are excluded from the $10 ECB deal.

    • pk

same in my ad(OHIO), 100ct excluded.

Also, are LED ones getting discount on register?? Anyone did the deal with LED lights?? thanks

      • wanna

Same in VA, but I just bought them and it printed the $10 ECB. Yeeey!

        • OA

And on my receipt says that I need to use $0.06 more to get my ECB. I wonder if I buy one more, if it prints another $10ECB… 🙂

          • mel

That would be sweet, but no, you won’t get another $10. the next receipt will catch up and say offer limit reached.

    • Jose

In Central Florida, the 100 ct is also excluded from deal….also, there is no discount on buying two

  6. liezel

Nope 98% rule ain’t true..even I. Short for 2 cents my ecb won’t print..its always happen to me good thing the cashier are so nice she always gave me ecb.

    • Colleen

I had this problem last week – bought $9.99 of cover girl and it didn’t print the ECB even though you only had to buy $10!

    • Nick

Yes it is. My ECBs print and I go by the 98% rule.

    • mel

Only those special “tiered” deals, that are like Buy $12 get $xx OR Buy $30 get $xx, will not print short. All other spend deals print at 98% (and have always printed as such for me)

  7. Robin

Have them check these lights before you leave the store. A lot of the boxes were being returned after BF. I was in the store and three customers were bringing them back. Only half the bulbs worked.

  8. mel

Are you SURE buying 6 boxes will reach $30 before the Buy 2/save $4.98? I don’t ever recall CVS deals tracking the none-sale price over the buy more sale.

    • Cort

I did the deal and yes it works presale price! the discount came off like a coupon!

  9. Loyda

I have an off topic question: Does CVS take expired 30% off coupons??

    • Rebecca

Depends on your store. I have several close to me and they each have a different policy. Some will take it within 3 days, one won’t take any expired ever, one says they never expire. Just ask the cashier.

  10. Katie Collard

Just got back from CVS…the above deal works. Bought 6 boxes, sale came off and $10 printed out. I used $4 ECB with it. Great deal!

  11. Brooke

Worked great! Just did my 3 bushes!

  12. Katy

Just snagged this deal and I’m so excited! This is our first Christmas in our own place so we were lacking outdoor decorations. Not anymore. 🙂

  13. Lydia

Just ran out to do this deal.. picked up 6boxes, paid $18oop, received $10ECB, so total only $8 for 6 boxes. 🙂 Im south suburban Chicago

  14. kathy

at my store the 4.99 was 70 ct boxes and didnt ring up with discount

  15. zoe

worked for the 18.00 at my store for 6 boxes of the 100 count three of each. sadly one box doesnt work so im taking it back to exchange tomorrow. but still. im in central california

  16. steph

Don’t know if this will matter to anyone but the CVS ad that starts this coming Sunday 12/8 I believe has the Merry Bright 200 ct. light sets BOGO with a limit of 6. Sorry don’t know the price. Saw it over at iheartcvs.com in the upcoming ad.

  17. Colleen

This deal just worked for me in Camp Hill, PA. Bought 6 boxes of the 100-count lights (which even said they were excluded on the hang tags). Register took off $11.94 and I paid $18 OOP (well, nothing after ECB).

    • SHELLS

Did you get the ecb? Because usually when it is a buy more and save item only the price paid including store discount (not coupons) counts towards the ecb deal. I would think you need ed to buy enough to hit the dollar amount after discounts. Like you would need to buy 10 boxes.

10 boxes with discount price per box $3 = $30

If it works the way it is stated in the op then WOOT!

      • Colleen

Sorry for the late reply – yep I got the ECB no problem

  18. Carol_R

Thanks Collin. I just did this deal and I used a $3/$12+ CVS coupon that was emailed to me recently. A really amazing deal. Thanks so much for posting it.

  19. Michele

Does anyone know if this deal is working this week too since they are offering $10 EB when you spend $30 in lights?

I live in Michigan and was looking for clearance lights for a wreath for next season. Found CVS Merry Brite on clearance. Does anyone know how these lights hold up in the outdoors? I had the clerk test the lights before I purchased them, and they all worked fine. However, while applying to my wreath, half the string went out. I found the loose bulb and proceeded to tighten, then replace with other bulbs that were included. The bulbs did not fit. I will be returning the string. The box says products are satisfaction guaranteed or money back..

  21. Harris

Does anyone know how you get Merry Bright LED Wire lights out of the box with the “try me push button” attached to the box. Do you cut the wires so that the battery pack provides the power and disconnects with the box? Do you cut the plastic cover box and cardboard so that the button is still attached? The instructions only carry the safety warnings.

  22. Ricky

Good question…..I’m having the same problem …..How do you remove that try me button? What did you do ? I cut it and wrapped the wire together but the switch on the battery box is disabled.

  23. Fred

I cut the box apart and left the button attached. Put in the batteries and it works, but I have to hide the button with the battery box.
