(ME on Cyber Saturday keepin’ it real! 🙂 )

So… well, to be very honest – I have quite the love/hate relationship with Cyber Monday and Black Friday. Although I absolutely love to snag a great deal, I don’t particularly like the craziness/hype that surrounds these 2 retail holidays. I mean these holidays are called Black FRIDAY and Cyber MONDAY for a reason, right?! They are not called Black THURSDAY or Cyber SUNDAY! So why oh why do all the retailers have to release their deals days/hours in advance of these specially-named holidays. So yes, that was most definitely my low… trying to have a somewhat sane and relaxed Thanksgiving holiday while at the same time posting all the great deals that seemed to pop up constantly (and caring for 3 kids with the flu!). If stores continue to release deals earlier and earlier every year, we’ll be Black Friday shoppin’ in October! 😉

As for my high this week, it is most definitely the beautiful Christmas tree that we just snagged yesterday. And of course, the special memories that we are creating while decorating the tree. 🙂

[h2s_box]Every Wednesday, I share my high(s) and low(s) for the past week and I encourage you to do the same in the comment section below. My high(s) will simply be the best or most exciting thing that happened to me over the last week or so and my low(s) will be something not so great that took place. [/h2s_box]

My love was a sick husband this week…My high was TODAY! Listening to music about Jesus’ birth while walking through walmart, seeing a video my mother in law took of my 2 yr old dancing with a snowman, reading a homework assignment my 7 yr old wrote about his most meaningful things, seeing the amazing creatures God has created on a walk in the woods, and hearing about my 10 yr old daughters plans to make me a surprise birthday dinner tomorrow! Today was great!

I’m an interior designer & I have to say that I just love seeing little bits & pieces of your new home. It is beautiful!

My high: We put up the tree today!
Low: I have a UTI :/ any favorite tips for those, hipsters?

I’m sorry to hear Jenn! I currently have one myself, I get them almost every time my husband and I are together 🙁 He and I both are finally going to get some tests done, hopefully they can find something wrong and it can be fixed!

I don’t know if you get them reoccurring or if this is your first one. My advice is drink tons and I mean tons of water and cranberry juice. You should be drinking enough to go to the bathroom at least every hour if not 30 mins, well my system moves fast! The faster you get fluids through your system the faster you can flush out the bacteria. Only do this for a couple of days and if symptoms haven’t subsided you may need to see a doctor.

I honestly avoid seeing the doctor anymore as I have been prescribed enough pills and I need to get that stuff out of my system. Once you have taken enough of that medicine, your body builds resistance to it, it does nothing for you and that can actually result in more frequent UTIs.

I hope that you feel better soon!!!

Hey Angela. What a bummer you have one too. I really hope that you and your hubby find something that works for you guys. That can be such a strain on the marriage, I know. This is not my first one. It’s just I tried my usual things like cranberry and it just wasn’t helping as much. I’m like you, I try to do as much as I can at home before I have to go to the doctor. Thanks for the reminder on drinking lots, I’m not too great at that. Feel better!

You may want to look into getting some D-Mannose. The brand Solaray has a good one.

      • Jenn

Thanks Michele. I ordered some. My usual tricks (cranberry etc) weren’t working as well this time. I’m glad this stuff works for you.

      • Angela

Thank you Jenn and Thank you Michelle for the mention, I will look into that.

My high was my daughters baptism and seeing all of the beautiful Christmas lights in our neighborhood on a walk a few nights ago. My low for this week was arguing with my husband today.

You are an amazing lady. I apppreciate you and your family sacrifices to keep us up to date on great deals. Your tireless work hasn’t gone unnoticed.

My high is that my husband has a job, as I lost mine in April of this year. Ironically he got his job in July after being unemployed for 2 1/2 years himself! God is great 🙂

My low is that while my mother and father are alive, they have chose not to be in my life. My husband and I have been married for 5 years, they absolutely LOVED him prior to us getting engaged and then things changed. I’m still not sure what happened but my extended family loves him and his family loves me so we are blessed for that. It just hurts so much to know that they don’t want to be in my life and have chose that for the past 7 years.

I’m sorry Thanksgiving/Black Friday/Cyber Monday were so stressful for you, but I am glad stores are starting deals earlier (even though I really don’t shop much during these days, as the items we typically want aren’t items for which there are deals). I think if the deals did start in October and were spread over a longer period of time, Black Friday itself wouldn’t be such a miserable day in stores in terms of crowds and nastiness, as many people would have much of their shopping done by then. Here’s hoping!

My High is that my husband got a job in July of this year after 2 1/2 years of unemployment and it’s a job that he loves to boot! Not to mention it came just a couple months after I lost my job, what a blessing!

My Low is that my mother and father still are not speaking to me and it’s been 7 years now. They say it is all because of my husband. They absolutely LOVED him before we got engaged, then there were some disagreements during the wedding planning and things just got worse. Now they absolutely HATE him. The rest of my family absolutely loves him and his family absolutely loves me, which is great, it’s just been a tough 7 years knowing that my mother and father don’t want me in their life.
