My daughter loves the seahorse, especially when I’m trying to get her to sleep. Also, great price for laptop, I purchased it for 11 and change and thought I got a great deal then. It’s wrapped up for her Xmas present, hopefully she likes it!

I just ordered the seahorse and then read all the amazon reviews. There are many comments about the battery casing catching on fire. Has anyone experienced this?

Yeah, I noticed most of the 2013 reviews were about catching fire. Factory defect for the entire year?
I had one that lasted through both my girls. Eventually stopped working after three years heavy use. Never had any problems with the battery compartment. If that was happening I think there would have been a recall.
Ok, something must have changed. I only had to replace our batteries a couple time and definitely did have any trouble but mine was purchased in 2010.

Both my girls use these nightly. We have never had any issues. We have 2, and one has been used daily (nap and bedtime) for the past 2 years with no issues. Hope that helps!

I ordered one and then read the reviews. It seems like the toy would smoke when people used rechargeable batteries not regular alkaline ones.

I have had mine for 8 months with no problems. This is the only thing that lulled my baby to sleep and I love it.

We have both toys. LOVE the seahorse. I used it as the it is sleep time toy so whenever it goes on they know it is sleep time. Works like a charm. Lap top is okay. I wouldn’t pay then $10 for it.
Also we haven’t had any issues with the fire on the battery casing. But ours are from awhile ago.
My daughter loves this seahorse. So much that we had her 1st birthday cake made with a fondant seahorse. It was so cute. Since then shes been through 3 of them. 1st one got worn out from daily use and many wash cycles to the point where it was unrecognizable and ended up getting lost at the store. Her latest one is the blue one since my daughter said the 2nd one needed a brother. 🙂 lol I highly recommend it. The music is not creepy or annoying, and I genuinely enjoy listening to it while I lay down with my daughter for naps. Never had any issues with overheating or fire.
