Just want to say that this toy is so cute! We love pretty much everything from Melissa and Doug too! If my littlest was a little bit littler (lol!) I would totally get this for her! I love toys that help them with imaginatory play!
DD received the M&D Noah’s Ark version of this for Christmas and we did not like it. The pieces fell through right the holes, so it does not satisfy as being “complete.” Also all the pieces easily turn sideways so it’s too easy to sort. If there were knobs, maybe; but she is a toddler who grabs the short edge and shoves each piece through any of the cut-outs. Cute toy in theory, but not really challenging.
these were only $5 at my local Meijer (clearanced). If I hadn’t already blown the budget this month, I would have picked them up for my toy closet. But like the post above said, I too have the M&D noah’s ark and the pieces can go in any opening. I updated ours by putting the name of each animal on the back (and there are two of each, considering one female, one male) and then put the name underneath the opening in the ark =) I have the kiddos match the names of the animals before they put it in.
