[h2s_box]Here’s what a few Hip2Save readers have had to say about this promotion…

I ordered mine and got them like 2 days later – I was SHOCKED! They were great and I am very pleased with them. The same glasses at Costco would have cost me approx $200 or better. I paid maybe $45 with the added stuff I did? Good deal! BUT I have to say I don’t think you can get them 100% free if that’s what you are aiming for… it will be at least $10-$20? But great quality!

I got mine within a week of ordering them. Love them and the price (just shipping) I get compliments on them all the time!

I totally did this last month. I love my glasses, they’re fun and cute. And cost me $15! My mom just couldn’t believe it. Thanks!!!

Ordered my daughter a free pair last year! They were fantastic. With her new prescription, I just ordered her extra thin lenses with all the coatings and only paid $59.90 about 1/4 what I would have paid at eye doctor. Ordered them on 13th, shipped on 15th… Cant’ wait to get them![/h2s_box]

If you have a really high Rx like mine, you are forced to pay for the extra thin lenses :/

  2. Yen

Anyone know when the promo ends? My DD has her eye dr. appt Feb. 17th. Hoping I can score her a free pair!

    • Jana

its been ongoing for nearly 2 years now so you should be good.

I did it almost 2 years ago and was super happy. I did have to pay the extra for the thinner lenses because I need some serious correction. I only wear mine from about 8-12 at night, as I wear contacts during the day. My only complaint is I splurged and got the non-glare coating they recommended for computer users. I don’t know if its that or what but they are so smudgy and don’t wipe clean very well. I have to wash them with soap and water and they are fine but it seems almost daily I’m having to wash them. Just wiping with a cotton cloth or using windex doesn’t work. I don’t have kids and take care of mine so I don’t know what causes it. For the money I paid I am super happy with them, just one minor inconvenience.

      • Em

I was told by my eye doctor to never use windex, as it damages the lens. It’s fine for windows, but glasses need a special solution.

      • Mae

I got the same type of glasses and they do smudge and I couldn’t seem to get the smudges off, until one day I didn’t have anything to clean it with but tissue paper and it cleaned the smudges off nicely! It is the coating on them that causes this.

    It won’t work for me;(

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How odd! When you click on the link in the post above, you’ll then want to click on the “Shop Free Glasses” link and then choose an eligible frame. As long as you are choosing from the eligible frames AND you are a first-time Coastal.com customer, the promo should work! Let me know if this helps!

  4. Leonardo

Couldn’t get the glasses free. They were charging me $39.95 + $18.00 shipping handling and insurance totaled over $58.00. I’ll stick with ZenniOptical.com and get the 10% off with promo code Red14. They have great glasses at a very cheap price.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Hi Leonardo!

When you click on the link in the post above, you’ll then want to click on the “Shop Free Glasses” link and then choose an eligible frame. As long as you are choosing from the eligible frames AND you are a first-time Coastal.com customer, the promo should work!

      Does this help?

  5. Courtney

The link totally worked for me! I’ve never ordered frames online before but for $16 I figured I’d give it a shot.

  6. Lidia

I’ve gotten free glasses from them and I love them! Such a great deal.

  7. Candice

I received free glasses as a new Coastal customer about a year ago. Overall, I was very pleased with the glasses, and I still wear them daily. The lenses have been pretty durable. It’s a great deal!

  8. krystal

I did this for my birthday last month. It took extra long for the item to ship due to an issue that had to be sent back to the manufacturer. Then I can’t see out of them which is part my fault… my PD’s aren’t the same and the site doesn’t have an option for each eye. I love the frames but it stinks I had to pay extra for the lenses and can’t wear them.

    • Donna Shelley

You can send them back. Just call the customer service number on the Invoice that came with it. 1-866-333-6888. I don’t know why the PD did not show up for you. I had it on mine. I did call though before I placed the order as my Dr wrote the script out in a different way, but they were a big help.

  9. tameka

I can’t seem to figure out the PD measurement any suggestions?

    • Angi

Hi Tameka, If you have an old prescription from your eye DR you can see if it has that on it. They have the ruler that you can print to measure it. You have to really stare at it in the mirror to center your eyeball. I suggest doing it several times. Do it twice and then wait a few minutes and then go back and see. If its different just take the average ( It shouldn’t be that much different). Here is a youtube video -just browse around. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBuX8QEabZc Hope this helps.

  10. Queenjen87

I don’t think they make lenses for my RX. -7.25/-6.75 astigmatism … They only have -3.75 on the site lol. Yea, im blind I know.

  11. Jill Fielding

I almost did not do this deal, because it makes you pick a frame either “bronze,” “silver” or “gold.” Each one adds an additional cost, (from $19.95 to $59.95) making these not free any more. However, I called the company and he helped me place the order. He told me that whenever they have the free glasses promotion, if you choose the “bronze” package, they will be free. It initially adds $19.95 to the cost of the glasses, but when you put the free promo code in, it takes the whole cost off. So, I did only pay shipping and handling which was around $15-16. Hope that helps!

  12. Liz

Has anyone ever ordered contacts from them?

    • Angi

Hi Liz. I order contacts from them all the time. No problems at all. I believe they started out as a contacts retailers.

    • Cara

I order contacts from them regularly. I go back and forth between them and Vision Direct based on who has the best deal and highest cash back on Ebates.

  13. Nicole

I don’t mean to hi-jack, but you can also get your first pair free from glassesshop.com. I ordered from them & my glasses are great. I did add 2 upgrades but @ $15.85 I could not complain. I wear contacts while working & my glasses at home. You can get 20% off if you spend $15 or more using code INVKS9RE5LA2Q

  14. Donna Shelley

I just got a pair from Coastal and I love them. I’ve never worn glasses before but I LOVE the Nicole Miller’s that I got. I got a few extras, but it only cost 78.00 including shipping. I couldn’t be happier. I had them within 5 days of ordering as well. At my Dr’s office the same pair would have cost me 3 times that , even with insurance!!!

  15. daru

My friend just paid over $517 for 2 pairs of Glasses at a local mall dealer plus $39 for unwritten/unhanded over prescription and they gave her $10off for buying 2 Pair, I told her to go to Coastal; where I paid $58.14 last year for a Single pair. In fact I have dropped my coastal mid grade (-1.61) -4.00, -3.75 glasses numerous times and most recently in ice snow and salt while clearing my driveway no scratches and they washed off well with dap of dish soad. Wow I hope they offered her lifetime replacement and free replacement when her RX Changes They must be 24k Plastic!!! BTW if your glasses need a little adjusting, most place will help you out for free and if they don’t go some else and tip the person that does $10.

  16. Amy

For new customers, try the code “FPF10”. That way you will get your first pair free, plus an additional 10% to help with the additional cost of the lenses.

  17. Sharon

Does anyone know of a site that doesn’t charge an arm and a leg for high index lenses? I see these great deals but my prescription is so high (-8.00) that I cannot get the regular lenses. The high index lenses cost anywhere from another $70 to $90. Still a lot cheaper than getting glasses from a brick and mortar store but frustrating that I cannot get in on the good deals I see.

    • Anna

We’ve used zenni optical for my husband’s -8.00 prescription. It’s not super thin but only an additional $10-15 charge. I’m pretty sure his glasses came out under $30.

      • Sharon

        Thanks! I’ll check them out.

  18. jen

I don’t know if anyone else had this problem, but they’re forcing me to choose a thinner option, and my vision isn’t bad at all…in fact, the optometrist said I don’t really need glasses because the prescription is so mild. I just like to have them for night driving in the rain. So I’m thinking this is a rip off because they force an upcharge…unless I’m somehow doing something wrong? It’s forcing me to choose between silver and gold package and I’m only -.75, I don’t think that’s too bad.

  19. Sj

Is it online only..do they have stores where I can try them on.

  20. Ashley

I have gotten two pairs of glasses from Costal before. I love them! You seriously can’t beat free glasses!! You do have to be very careful to make sure that the ones that you are looking at qualify for the free deal, many of the glasses do not qualify. But, if you do find some you like than it is a great deal!!

  21. Nikki

Honestly, GlassesUsa worked out better for me. The price was better, and the quality was much higher.
