Yes! Got it. Thanks Collin. I’m almost out of coconut oil.

    • jaime@fostersonline.net

Stupid question, but what are some other uses for this oil (other than making Collin’s fabulous popcorn)? Thanks!

      • Mourrene

I’m trying it out on my face for 30 days to see if there’s a difference in my skin. There are many uses for it according to Google searches. I’ve also used it in my hair and it made it feel softer. Though it’s edible, it didn’t agree with me when I tried it in my coffee.

      • Erin

I use it on my kids skin in place of lotion. I also use it on my own and it works great!

      • Sarah

I just picked up some coconut oil last week to try for microwave popcorn. My nine year old daughter had some serious tangles in her hair that we were having no luck getting out. I remembered reading that coconut oil is the only oil with small enough molecules to penetrate the hair. So I rubbed some into her hair (it made my hands really smooth too!). It still took a lot of brushing to get the tangles out. But the next morning, and since then, no tangles! Hoping this will be our miracle hair detangler!

      • Melissa

Other uses: I use it to take off my eye make-up and then after I take it off, I use it to take off my facial makeup. I also put a little inside my nostrils to add moisture, particularly during the winter and allergy season. I also put some on the outside of my nostrils to keep them from getting chapped. It is great for lip balm and for facial moisturizer at any time, alone or under other moisturizers. I have read several books on all the uses for coconut oil – a couple of which were free kindle books. Re: using it as a moisturizer, the interesting thing to me is that my face will look shiny upon application, but the oil is quickly absorbed.

        • mel

Makes a good throat soother! Lina posted a bunch the other day, and this one really helped me — 1/2 tsp coconut oil, 1/2 tsp honey and juice of a lemon. heat it up til the oil & honey are melted and sip. (about 10-20 secs in microwave)

          • mary

I make a knock off reese’s PB cup for a treat…1 or 2 TB coconut oil, melted, add 1 TB cocoa powder, 1 TB honey(or less, to taste), splash of vanilla. Stir together then swirl in 1 TB of PB. Pop in the freezer for about 10-15 min. It turns into basically a chocolate bar. Soo good.

      • Sarah

I use it in place of most cooking oils. We use it in place of lotion, and sometimes a facial moisturizer and or extra hair conditioning. I use it on cuts/scrapes/burns. It has anti-fungal properties, so if candida is an issue it is very soothing. It is a great cream for nursing mothers (if there are no allergies).

  2. nonebetter

Jamie it’s great for skin, it can be used on your hair, you can cook with it, use as a makeup remover…this list goes on and on.

    • jaime@fostersonline.net

Amazing, thank you so much. I appreciate the info-going to snag some now!

  3. Sara

    Love me some coconut oil!

  4. Stormy

  5. Ehrin

Can anyone vouch for quality on this brand? TIA! 🙂

    • nin

Yes, this is a good brand:) I’ve only used Nutiva and Carrington.

  6. Valerie

Love this brand! I just bought 6 bottles!! Thanks Collin for posting, this is an awesome price for Nutiva.

  7. Zosia

I use it to make french fries for my kids

  8. Tomoko

Thank you for the video. My 9 years old daughter loves pop corn and excited to learn how to make microwave pop corn. She is so proud that she can make yummy pop corn all by herself 🙂

  9. Amig

I use coconut oil for lotion, put a scoop in my smoothie, use it to help my breasts while nursing. Used it for my babies cradle cap, on the nose when you have a cold, it replaces most cooking oils, great as a Chapstick.

    • Sarah

Love it as nursing cream! Totally saved my when baby and I got thrush too!

      • maflies1

How did you use this for thrush, if you would share please? Have spent many times and dollars fighting this stuff. I appreciate your sharing this.

  10. ohmom

i can swear by coconut oil’s miracle to grow hair…iam from the southern part of india and i grew up using coconut oil ..had long luscious hair…didnt know the reason was this..i dreaded applying oil on my hair while all my friends at school would flaunt their shampooed dry silky hair…but once in 20s i could see that my hair was still strong and long as against my non oil applying friends who started to have problems like brittle hair, dryess…now am in the US for the past decade and am loving coconut oil even more…its greattttt on skin for the winter weather…
the best way to grow out ur hair is..heat this 2tablrspoons of coconut oil for 10 secs in microwave and apply it at roots n let it soak in for 10 mins…then shampoo as usual …i also use a lil bit to tame flyaways and frizz

    • Janie

Awesome! Thanks for your input I will be trying that.

    • leanne

Thank you !! I cut off A LOT of hair this weekend, and although I’ve gotten Alot of compliments, im going to start the process of growing out out again lol..

    • Anu

Yup..I could not agree more!! Being from southern India I grew up using coconut oil for hair too..Definitely use it for a healthier feeling, looking hair.

    • Leighton

      Appreciate this post. Thank you.

  11. KAB

Love the popcorn video Collin. You are so funny.

  12. Lindsay

I use it for everything. I put it in my coffee, on my kids pancakes, sauté vegetables, use it for Chapstick, on my baby’s dry skin and as a diaper cream.

  13. lovingandlaughing

I could have used coconut oil yesterday when I made some chocolate oatmeal coconut and peanut bars! I found the recipe in the Money Saving Mom website. I substituted butter instead of coconut oil. Just ordered some. Thanks Colin for the link! Love the $1.99 flat rate shipping! I am hoping the jars are a good size…?

  14. lovingandlaughing

Shop at Home was 7% back!

    • Lindsay

Costco does have better prices, but even trader joes you can buy 16oz (1 pound) for $5.99 so this doesn’t seem like that great of a price to me!

      • lovingandlaughing

Thanks Lindsay, it is good to know Trader Joe’s has a good price. I wonder if the Trader Joe’s coconut oil is organic like this one at GNC? The closest Trader Joe’s is still about an hour’s drive for me so this online sale with nearly free shipping worked for my situation. There is a bargain type of store in CT known as “Ocean State Job Lot.” Within this year I noticed they do sell jars coconut oil, but at the time I was there I did not note the price. Next time I am there I will check their price to be able to compare.

        • Lyn

Trader joes brand is organic 🙂

  15. thejoyouspath

This is a better price than the grocery store, but the coconut oil at Costco is a WAY better deal. 54 oz for $15.99

    • lovingandlaughing

the joyous path that Costco price is better! Wish I had a Costco nearby since it sounds like so many of their prices seem so great!

      • mel

        Check Sam’s! I bought 54 oz. tub for a little under $10!!

    • Heather

Not fair! What part of the country are you in!? I am in Seattle area and my Costco has that 54 oz tub for $21.99!

      • nicole

Iowa has it for 15.99 🙂

  16. maflies1

Healthier than butter, and I use it in some of my baking recipes-brownies, cookies, etc. Of course, it gives a hint of a very nice taste….kind of a nutty taste. 🙂 My family loves it! Thanks for passing this on, Collin. Love Shop Runner, and thanks for letting us know about that as well. You are absolutely the best deal finder around!

  17. Anne

FYI everyone Trader joes has extra virgin coconut oil for 6 dollars

    • me

      Its not organic

  18. Katie

Will they price match in store?

  19. Ginny

  21. t

    got it. thanks!

  22. Katherine

My ID Costco has 78 oz jars for $22.99. They just went up from $21.99. This is an amazing price. It’s the best I’ve seen for Nutiva other than Costco.

  23. Sid

Is it still available? I can’t find it nor can I follow the link 🙁

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How strange as I am still seeing it available for $6 when I click on the links in the post above. Maybe try a different browser?

  24. Julieann

Shipping is almost $5.00 for me??

    • lovingandlaughing

Julie, I ended up having to put in my husband’s work address to get the $1.99 shipping, shipping to my home or PO Box was $5.

  25. Alecia

I can’t figure out how to add shop runner when using the mobile site. If anyone could help that would be great! Thanks!

  26. Alecia

Can anyone tell me how to apply the free shop runner shipping when using the mobile site? Thanks!

  27. Mommy2jands

Love this brand of coconut oil! I’ve tried other cheaper brand but I go back to this one after one try. This brand tastes and smells much better than others I’ve tried. This is a great price!

  28. Delia

Fatwallet is offering 8% cash back so I matched through Shopathome’s 110% guarantee. Thanks H2S!

  29. Sp

If u have an American Express card, u can sign up for a free shop runner membership for life time !! I did it few days back !!

  30. Nicole

You can buy simple truth 15oz, organic, unrefined, coconut oil at kroger for $5.99-6.99 daily. Their refined is $4.99.

  31. lovingandlaughing

I just noticed on amazon the price is more or less about the same as this deal. They sell the 54 oz jar of the same organic oil for about $26. Buying 4 of these same organic coconut oil 15oz jars on sale at GNC for 6 each and then with $1.99 shipping is pretty close to the Anazon price! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/handle-buy-box/ref=dp_start-bbf_1_glance

  32. a

can someone please tell me if this tastes like coconut? i love spectrum because it is more of a neutral flavor and i can put it on everything without anyone in the family complaining 😉 i used trader joe’s before and the coconut flavor was overwhelming. thanks in advance!!

  33. a

looks like site is down, couldn’t proceed with check out so did over the phone and they were very nice, secured member pricing and shoprunner, thanks for the deal info!
