Thank you, thank you, thank you! A friend told me about this but she thought it was only her school. My entire family is coming to visit me during the summer and I am trying really hard to get us the best deals, otherwise we will spend the days playing in the yard with the sprinkler…hey, not a bad idea, we will do that too!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You are so welcome!! 🙂

      • Sandra

I was the Read to Succeed Coordinator for our school for the last 3 years. It takes 30 seconds to register a school. Any teacher registering 10 or more students also gets a free adult ticket. The coordinator also gets a free adult ticket. Your reading log must be mailed in to Six Flags with the rest of your students from your school.

My son brought a paper home from school about this last month. He completed the six hours in 2 weekends. We have a 2 hour quiet time every day and he reads almost the entire time each day. We’re already planning our trip to Six Flags. Just waiting for the ticket and dates! Yay! 🙂

  3. Theresa

Says you have to sign up through a school organization.

sorry for the dumb question… can i register for my daughter? she is in grade K. or her school or teacher need to fill this form? pls help me! thank u in adv

  5. nikki

The teacher has to register them, but they don’t tell you that until after they have sucked your email out of you. not cool six flags, really counter productive.

  6. Angela

FYI, your school has to be registered in order to participate. Your teacher has to complete your registration and the tickets are only available to be used in the summer. The ticket will have your child’s name on it.

  7. Brenda

I homeschool and my daughter read 6 hours and I submitted her info and mine and we will both be getting a ticket. If your kids go to public school then the teacher can register the student. It’s not hard.

  8. Cynthia

Bummer…….Can not be done by parent. Nikki, you are right!! MISLEADING!!!

  9. Tam

How long are the tickets good for?

  10. Sandy

Thanks for posting Collin! Just in time before the deadline!
We homeschool so it worked out for us!
    Yay!

The Read to Succeed program required 600 minutes of reading when I did it for a ticket. Wonder if this is a shortened program or if Six Flags is just making it real easy so they get as many families into the parks as possible.

    • S

I was thinking the same thing! We always had to do 600 minutes when I was a kid!

    • Cass

It truly doesn’t matter how many families they get into the park. That Park could be completely filled, but those rides aren’t going to go any faster. No matter how many people are in the park, those rides are going to stay consistent all day long.

  12. Serena

If you home school, there is an option to register for this as well.

  13. Amber

My daughters school is doing this. They have to read a lot more then 6 hours though. It’s a great program but the dates they can use the tickets are very limited. They’re for the hottest days of the year, at least for six flags over Texas. We decided to pass on it. Any program that encourages kids to read more though is a good one in my eyes.

  14. Jenn

Does this mean students have to read for 6 hours before March 3 OR teachers have to sign up students before March 3.

    • Angela

It means you have to read six hours and a teacher needs to register your child before the deadline.

  15. melissa

I registered our home school. 5 free tickets and one for me too, in 5 minurtesd! Thanks Collin!

  16. Kathleen

I’m wondering if anyone who home schools and has signed up for the program, if they’ve received their tickets yet. It doesn’t say on the website when they’ll be delivered, just that it’s in the spring time. Thank you! – Kathleen

    • Rashelle

Wondering the same thing Kathleen, it’s been almost two months and no word or tickets here either?!?!?

  17. Melissa

I received my Homeschool passes today.

  18. Peggy

I got our tickets on April 30th. I was wondering if anyone ever had any issues out of using them.

  19. Michelle

What dates in the summer are they for? I’m still waiting on mine? Thanks for any info.

  20. Brian

Have people gotten their tickets? My daughter got hers on the last day of school and the ticket portion of the Certificate is complete gibberish. I can’t find anything on the program website regarding dates or anything, and really don’t want to show up at the park and have to pay for another ticket if this isn’t valid. Thanks!

  21. Corey Haughton

It is imparative that I reach someone. Can you give me phone number or can you please respond by email. This is my third request.

  22. vietcherryblossom

I was just wondering has anyone uses their ticket yet? If so were there any issue when using it? Also did they ask any question regarding the ticket print at the gate? I ask because this is my first time and I don’t want to go home sad and the rest of my homeschool students upset. Someone please answer sometime this week or next week or right away. Thank you for your time.

  23. Anne

How strict are the ticket takers with the free Read to Succeed tickets? I am a teacher and I was also the coordinator so I got 2 free adult tickets and my daughter got a free ticket. One of the other teachers gave me a ticket and 2 of my students gave me theirs, they were going away for the summer. My other children that I would use the tickets for are under 21 but older than 13 so technically cannot use the tickets. Has anyone had trouble using these tickets for people who don’t fit the age restrictions.

    • Evelyn

Anne, have you been able to use the tickets yet? I’m wondering if you were able to use them. My sister offered me her son’s ticket for my daughter since he already has a season pass. I’m not working so this would really help us out. I’m wondering if she can use his ticket.

  24. Jen

They are not picky about the tickets but they definitely need to look close to that age. They do not ask questions. Just scan tickets and go. It is harder to get through security with bags in Texas.

  25. Evelyn

Can I use my nephew’s ticket to upgrade to season pass for my daughter?

  26. Betty Hester

I would like to sign my grandkids p for the read to succeed six flags tickets.

    • Liza (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi Betty! You will need to check with your grandkids’ school. The school has to be signed up first, and then they will register the kids themselves. Hope that helps!

  27. Robin Corbin

Can the free ticket be used at Hurricane Harbor in Jackson?

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh bummer! I did find this message as I click through now – “Important Notice The 2017-2018 Read to Succeed program has ended. Have a great summer!” Maybe try contacting customer service for any additional details. Hope that helps!
