On a personal note, Golden Tote reached out to me last month and asked if I would be interested in posting about their monthly grab bags. I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical at first when I saw the cost of each bag so I asked them to send me a bag to check out. Much to my surprise, I was quite impressed with the Golden Tote Bag that I received. First of all, the bag itself is really adorable – it seems durable and will likely get a lot of use. I was equally impressed with the clothing items that I received. I also think that these grab bags would make great gifts… especially for someone who doesn’t live near you.
As you can see from the picture above, they sent me a trendy top and an adorable dress. I felt that basically the $25 price for each item seemed fair (especially with the free tote!). HOWEVER, I know that many of you have a limited budget when it comes to purchasing new clothes and Golden Tote may not fit into your budget, so please feel free to skip over this post if that’s the case. very small sizes, most choices only go up to a medium option. I have two skinny ballerina daughters though 🙂 however, I disagree with sandi, I think 49 looks like best deal. for triple the price 149 you only get double the items and that in no way makes sense to me. better off buying 3 of the 49$ totes
Hi Tilla! Goldentote always offers up to a size Large, it’s just that some items sell out quicker than others. The sales launch in the beginning of the month and tend to sell out fast. But they are working all month to re-stock sizes!
Hi Margot! The clothing sizes are Extra Small, Small, Medium and Large. Because Goldentote tries to find clothing types that fit many body types, the clothing fits tend to be more flowy than form-fitting.
How is the return policy? This looks like a great deal for back to school shopping. But I have a picky 15 year old.
Hi Vkram! Goldentote does accept returns for refund or credit, but you have to return the entire tote. This is because The cost of the totes are for the whole group of items, they aren’t priced individually, and that’s how they’re able to offer the tote at a discount. For example, the items that you get to choose are usually valued at retail cost more than the cost of the tote itself. The other items are considered bonus, So even if you like two or even one item, and maybe gift away the other(s), it’s still worth the total cost. But more importantly, returns are really low – 1% of the totes ordered are ever returned. And 69% of our customers have ordered more than once. Subscribers will get emails (and/or Facebook updates) about the new upcoming sales, but there’s no commitment or requirement to sign up or buy in advance. Every month is your choice!
Any item I chose to put in my tote was only available in a small or x-small. 🙁 I was excited to use this! I was looking for the eyelet dress and it out of stock.

Cute idea and the website seems to have some nice stuff, but the items pictured (especially that shirt on the right) are not so cute even if they are designer. It looks like stuff I could get anywhere.
I LOVE Golden Tote!!! Last month was my first tote. I went with the $49 one and ended up with my chosen item, cardigan and feather print scarf as my two “surprise” items. As far as not going with the $149 option and 3 $49 as someone mentioned above, it really depends. Your options for items in which you can choose are more with the $149 tote. Example $49 totes you are allowed one item of choice(they surprise you with 1-2 additional items ) most of the items are in the range of $30-$45. $149 tote allows you to choose 2 items from a different selection and the item price ranges individually between $50-$70 (they surprise you with the remaining items ) if ordering more than one tote at the same price point ex. 2 $49 totes make sure you order together. If your doing separately put in the comments section that you already placed a previous order to avoid getting duplicate surprise items. If your wondering what to do about the items you aren’t fond of they have created a private facebook group in which you can swap or sell items.
Oh and to add… for the best selection for sizes they open up the first Monday of each month @ 12 est. If your wondering why sizing options and options in general are limited that’s why.
