New Shopping Video: Kmart Double Coupons

This week only, March 16th through the 22nd, Shop Your Way Rewards Members get double manufacturer coupons up to a $2 value with the purchase of $25 or more (calculated before coupons) in grocery and drugstore merchandise at Kmart. Limit 5 coupons per customer per day. Limit 4 purchases of the same item. Excludes buy 1 get 1 FREE offers, Kmart Savings Coupons and store coupons.
Note that if the double coupon value exceeds the value of the item, the double value will automatically be reduced down to the cost of the item (so you won’t get overage, but you will get the item free).
Be sure to closely monitor the checkout screen as your coupons are being scanned. My sister and I both had issues with certain coupons not doubling and beeping. And yes, we were following the double coupon “rules” and had over $25 prior to coupons etc. However, we were very lucky to have a patient cashier and manager who helped to basically push the coupons through since we did have the correct items.

Collin, I’m so glad you featured Kmart. Oh girl, you are not alone! I agree 100% to be persistent if you are following all requirements. The Shop your way program is wonderful (when it works) and the clearance buys are extra amazing, BUT…you have to have an extra amount of patience and caffeine to get the advertised prices. When I shop there, I use my smartphone to take pictures of clearance or sale prices because a lot of times they magically don’t appear during checkout. I usually require a manager’s override when I visit the store. It appears the cashiers are doing their best, but don’t get the training and information required to handle their promotions. Further, if you don’t watch the prices as they ring up, you’ll likely be overcharged. And there are the occasions that the shop your way points don’t show up as advertised. So that usually warrants a call to their customer service and 10 mins of your life. When I have time, it’s worth the hassle. My recent visit paid off, I bought 2 girls bongo jackets for $11 (regularly $36+ each) and received $10 in rewards points. So don’t feel alone, Collin, Kmart just doesn’t make it easy on anyone. I went to 2 Kmart’s today.
The first one told me that they couldn’t “force” any coupons through, even if the manager tried. I don’t think they wanted to deal with the hassle honestly.
The second one I went to, certain coupons would scan and some wouldn’t. The manager was able to take off values in the computer but I’m not sure if it took those coupons or not eventually. In any case I got the prices, it was a headache, but it worked eventually.
The register wouldn’t double my coupons. I was told by the manager that there was “nothing they could do about it.” Any advice. They offered to void my transaction for me…um, thanks for the help-I want my almost free stuff!! 🙂
I am so sorry, Kristen! I would take the time to contact Kmart Customer Service and to share what happened at your store.
When I was leaving Kmart yesterday they were handing out little cards asking us to contact http://www.kmartfeedback.com to share our impressions of the store. Maybe that would be another good place to let them know what happened.
My Kmart had a limit of 5 coupons per person per day BUT, does not have a minimum $ amount you must spend to get double coupons. So I was able to spend $11.20 before coupons and 1.78 after coupons. Plus I had points so i only paid tax
My trip was ALMOST painless today! Lol I got two tampax, two gear deodorants, and two garnier products for 3.89 before tax… Used my points and paid .55 for everything! The manager messed up one of my coupons and I was going to miss out on 1.80. She told the cashier “it was fine” until she saw my face lol I said I wasn’t okay with it and she rerang me up the right way.
Two additions to the awesome deals, there is a shop your way rewards coupon on the Tampax $2/1, I received a monthly flyer of store coupons to “reuse” so it would make the Tampax free with $2 MQ doubled, and Lancaster Creams, there was a $1.50/1 MQ in the Smart Source a few weeks back, doubled =free, monthly price of $3/1. About the coupons not doubling, if it was the candy coupon, $1/3, I have found if the “single” item value was not double the coupon value it would not double. The candy singles were .99, so the $1/3 coupon would not double because the value of the coupon exceeded the value of one item, I have had cashiers even manually select all items that apply to the coupon and it will still not double. So I avoid them in the doubling category. Thanks on the jergens soap deal, I will try that tomorrow…also the glad is buy 3 get one free this month…
From what I can see the Kmart coupon policy will only double coupons up to $1, am I wrong on this?
They used to double up to $1 all the time. Now they don’t double regularly anymore. This is a special event for this week only (ending tomorrow) where they will double up to $2.
