Has anyone else loaded a FREE item to their Safeway card only to find out after checkout that it did not work? I’ve been using this app for over a year and never had a problem redeeming the totally free items until a few months ago. The most recent was the FREE Neuro Sleep Drink that rang up at the sale price of $2. I know sometimes the products are tied to the purchase of another product, but I have had problems with the no purchase necessary ones.
All the damn time! And of course I never realize it until I get home. I was charged for the Neuro drinks too. Such a pain!
Yes, and then they rude courtesy booth person blamed it on me. My free items are either not in store or if they are ring up full price. Its such a pain. And then instead of giving me the gum for free, like I was supposed to get, she just returned it. Taking the gum back and returned my $.79 cents. This one they blamed on the wrong flavor.
I had problems with the Neuro one too, but I bought the yogurt tonight and it came off no problems.

Yes, all the time. For free stuff I make own transaction and have my phone ready to show to cashier.
i am overcharged for stuff all the time at vons. of course because i have my 2 year old with me i never pay attention. by the time i realized i’ve been overcharged for stuff i’m already home.
That happened to me with the Neurosleep also.
I never have a problem with my items until the Neuro one. I didn’t realize it til I got home and didn’t get back to the store until a week later (I didn’t want to make an extra trip) and took my receipt and the drink to CS and they refunded my money. I was going to give the drink back if they balked. But they just gave me $2 cash. It’s usually great tho.

I do all free items in one transaction and if they dont go for free I go to customer service and they give me money back after I show my J4U list on cell. Or you can print your list and keep with you:-)
The free items were listed in the ad this week too. I always check my receipt before I leave the store though.
I like the separate transaction idea better. Waiting in the courtesy booth line takes forever and they are super rude at my Randalls.
