As most of you know, 9/16/12, was the start of the new Walgreens Balance Rewards Program! Even sweeter, on 5/5/13, they started a new point system in which you can redeem your points once you reach just 1,000 points. Please head here to read all about it.

newbie shopper here..im wondering how easy is it to return items at walgreens.. i did the charmin deal and messed up. i bought 2 16 rolls but did not get the puffs..so did not get anything from it and practically paid full price. i was so distracted coz hubby and 2 kids was with me. it was actually my first time doing coupon and deals at walgreens so i am kinda brokenhearted right now. 🙁
If you have your receipt, it’s very easy to return. Whenever I mess up my transactions (and haven’t used a RR), I always return.

Walgreens says they have a new policy that says that are no longer taking 2 coupons if there is a BOGO. Is that true now? They said they changed it a few weeks ago as one product is “free”. I said that BOGO is the same as each item is 1/2 price. They allowed me to use both of them on the Zest soap deal very reluctantly and said that would be the last time as that is their new policy. Collin, could you please comment if that is true?

I did the caress deal no problem tonight was able to apply the $2/1 caress to even the free ones
The coupon policy has not changed, the software on the registers have. In a b1g1 free instance the first item will ring the sale price and the second will ring at $0.00. When this happens, the coupon will not be valid because the cost of the item is at $0.00 and Walgreens will not adjust a coupon value below that; per the coupon policy. Some systems are still being updated which is why some stores can and some cannot. Give it time and all the systems will be operational which means no double coupons for b1g1 free deals.
I was told the same thing last Sunday at my local store but indeed their coupon policy, as stated on the website hasn’t changed. I had them void the items and went to another Wags on the other side of town and purchased BOGO items and used coupons with no problems. I sent Walgreens an email but have not received any response and it’s been nearly a week.
I’ve had a few different WG reject my coupons (using a $1 off of a .99 bacon sale). They said they do not adjust the coupon down and I am trying to commit fraud. I even showed them the policy and they still didn’t take them. I emailed WG and called in a formal complaint and that was MONTHS ago. Still no responses.
xna you just cannot coupon shop distracted. Something all of us have had to learn. You won’t have any trouble returning the items so long as you have your receipt and you want them opened. I would not take children with me coupon shopping because I find I need my full attention and my husband can only come if he helps me figure out the deals and is completely on board. Otherwise he just waits in the car.

If you have both CVS and Walgreen’s start with CVS, they are easier but once you get the hand of it there and while you are learning, watch Colin’s videos and other ways to learn Walgreen’s. Because Walgreen’s offers two distinct different types of rewards (RRs & BRP) we can rock and roll between them to get amazingly wonderful deals and depending on the number of coupons you have and/or stock on hand at your local Walgreen’s, you are only limited to that.
Xna, I think it depends on your local Walgreens and CVS. Some can be difficult but others can be very helpful. Just take your time and remember some advice i picked up here…”If you miss the deal this week, it will come back another week”. Happy couponing!

Ughh, Walgreens, I love the deals, but there is NO consistency amongst cashiers. Some are super friendly with couponers, others can be out right nasty, belligerent and even demeaning ( just had a bad trip)! I’ve been couponing over 6 years and still get an occas. Deal wrong! Today I had a mgr come over next to me grab my receipt and start going over it randomly, then when I was checking out she came over and looked in my bag at my 6 mascara s (9 girls in my family). And said I hope you know I could make you put these back it could be considered beyond normal household consumption. I was so embarrassed:(. She went on to say now I don’t have any left, I told her there were tons and she just rolled her eyes, on the way out I snapped a photo of the almost full rows and rows of the same mascara, after i left i heard a hey, hey and she had come running outside and just said ok, by, beyond bizarre, it’s like they think your stealing , the thing that kills me is that I use the right q read every word bought the right item and I paid about $2 a package, not even an extreme deal… Oh yeah and she told me I should do multiple transactions so the company wouldn’t know, what the hey, I’m an above board kinda girl, if its wrong I just don’t wanna do it, REALLY…. I’m missing cvs more and more everyday, …
You should really get ahold of the district manager and make a complaint! There is NO excuse for that kind of behavior. I bet she’d have no problem with you buying that many if you were paying full price!! They get their money from the coupons, so I don’t understand why on earth people act like we’re stealing. I’m starting to think it has something to do with what Walgreens’ corporate must tell their employees. One company can’t possibly have so many rude, disrespectful employees, can they??!! Add your story to the list of reasons that I avoid shopping there at ALL costs. I would have gone sideways on that manager!

I like the Starbucks RR deal. I just hope my local Wags has them in stock. I plan to go in the afternoon around 3pm to a location that opens at 8am. I hope they don’t sell out in 7 hours. That would be disappointing.

All of Walgreens register rewards have a limit of 1. You can purchase as many as you want at the sale price, but will only get 1RR.
You can purchase as many as you want (unless your store has limits; mine don’t) but you have to buy them one at a time because you can only get one RR per transaction (per “RR deal”, that is).
You can ring up diff transaction… Depends on the store

I dont think that would work! 🙁 RR are considered MQ, and walgreens wont let you use more MQ than items youre purchasing. So if you buy 4 body washes and use (4) $2/1 MQ plus $1.50 RR that wont work. Youd have 4 items and 5 MQ. But if you bought a cheap filler item you could do it 🙂

Could someone explain to me the coupon for the allegra and nasacort???? I’m a wags cashier and had a customer argue with me about the new coupon when u buy two. But he had already scanned one allegra and one nasacort the single ones went through but the other one where you had to buy both was rejected. I ended up manually putting it in. But technically you can use all three on two right per the policy? I looked all over blogs for this.
Unless either of the three coupons were walgreens coupons it should have been the two single coupons or the single coupon for both items. If they were all manufacturer coupons then you were wrong to manually enter the third coupon. The register dis not accept it because the two previous coupons had already attached to the items and you canonly use one mmanufacture coupon per item. He could have asked for the two single coupons back and used the one coupon that was for both items if it was a higher value but he shouldn’t have argued with you about it. It doesn’t matter of its Walgreens, cvs, target.. etc. You can only use one manufacture coupon per item.
Normally, you are only allowed 1 coupon per item, but this is a special offer.
In the RP, it is advertised SAVE $12 When you buy BOTH! There’s the $5 off Allegra & $5 off Nasacort. Then a 3rd coupon says “Save an additional $2 when you purchase BOTH Products! (1) Allegra 30 ct or higher & (1) Nasacort product.”
In the fine print, it says Retailer must scan all 3 coupons to receive the full $12 in savings.
B/C the register is attaching each $5 coupon to one item, the $2 coupon needs to be overridden. Its an odd, but legit deal.

The $4.99 shown for the scott naturals paper towels is the sale price or reg. price? so I couldn’t stack the 20% in store coupon if I were to buy them? TIA

All I can say is our 4/6 Red Plum was pretty lame compared to all the coupons listed above. Still can’t print from their website either…even after doing all their “troubleshooting”…and no response from the company. Sigh….
