I used to have this problem. In my experience I found you cannot see it on the mobile site. I also had to change my zip code.

  7. Marie Womack

Any idea why my free points never show up in my account even when it says I have been rewarded them?

    • Dianne

Same question here, have done this twice and both times had an issue in store. The last time the Customer Service Manager even said she would check into it and email back but she never did. She did credit me the points because she could see them, the register just wouldn’t use them???? So I don’t do them anymore.

      • Marie Womack

I even got a email today saying I was rewarded 5000 points but they are not showing in my account online.

        • Jone

I have the same problem. For me it’s 4000 points and not showing in account.

          • fran

The surprise points don’t show in your total balance. Click your balance at top right and the under your balance, click “surprise points”. You will see them on the next page, which store, stipulations, and expiration date.
The local ad points get added to your total balance when they go into effect, in this case May 4th.

        • Mel

The liquidation points won’t fully show in your acct to spend until Sunday. A few minutes after I click the banners, I go back to SYW and my acct history says:
          May 1, 2014 – 1,000 Bonus Points
Members get 1000 Surprise Points when you visit Local Ad

Then on Sunday, when I log into my acct, my balance will increase 2,000 pts and I have until Saturday to spend them. If not, they are lost.

For the surprise points, sometimes it’s not just for any purchase. When you click the # of points you have in your account, a box opens, then click ‘see all’, and it’ll tell you what you can use or earn the points towards. Like my acct says I have 13,000 Surprise Points. That doesn’t mean $13 off any purchase. It’s broken down to
3,000 pts when I spend $35 in clothing
5,000 pts when I spend $15 in Lawn & Garden
5,000 pts when I spend $30 for the Home

          • Marie Womack

Thank you so much!! I see all the information now!

  8. Melanie Couzens

  10. dealhousewife

  11. Mel

I get e-mails too that say I have points but when I log into my account it shows 0. Frustrating!

    • Mel

Surprise points aren’t always an amount that’s added to your account. Sometimes it’s to use in a certain department, like grocery or clothing. Read the email to see what it says. Mine says $13,000 points, but it’s broken down into 3 departments. When I check out at the store, I tell the cashier I have bonus points. As long as I meet the requirements, the screen will alert the cashier that there are bonus points to apply.

  12. Joyce

Question – I have received 2 separate ShopMyWay emails in the last few days….one for Mothers’ Day saying I have 7000 points if I spend in certain Mothers’ Day type departments and another email saying I have 7000 points if I spend $20 (no restrictions) – are these separate so I actually have $14 to spend as long as it is in the correct department AND I spend over $20 total. Thanks for any help from all you Sears super shoppers…I’m a novice!

    • Happymama

I think you can combine them, but I’m not 100%. Last week I was in Sears and knew I had $3 off $20 in points but the cashier asked if I wanted to use my other points too (it was like .30 lol) and I was able to combine them both. HTH

  13. Tarri

    Thanks. Finally got both.

  14. L

This is the biggest rip off. For example I had 4000 surprise points and a $10 off $25 purchase. At least in my area, they keep the prices way too high. $35.99 for a 5 qt bottle of synthetic motor oil that is $26.99 at Walmart. It also says alot to me as a consumer when the cashier says the points and coupons program is stupid and the employees dont even know how it works or how to fix issues. And after my purchase 10 coupons printed out but you cant use any of them together and they were $5 off $50 $10 off $75. Don’t think so:( It is a shame because Kmart and Sears used to be so much better.

  15. Brittany

I’ve never signed up for Shop You way and have no idea what it is, but I see Collin post about all the free points often. Can anyone give me a brief explanation about it or maybe link an article Collin wrote in the past about it. Thanks!

    • sam

Google will answer the questions that you seek.

    • carmen

I couldn’t find a good, brief explanation, but I’ll take a stab at it :). I don’t know all the details because I don’t have much experience with it, but from what I understand…

It’s basically a loyalty/reward program that is mainly associated with Sears, Kmart, and Lands’ End. When you shop there, and use your card (or enter it online), you earn points on purchases that you can accumulate and use on future purchases.
They will send you emails from time to time announcing coupons that you can load onto your account, and they also offer Surprise Points from time to time (usually, you don’t have to load those, but it depends).
I’m sure there are other ways to earn/use points as well as other aspects of the program that I’ve missed, but hopefully that helps.

I have found the SYWR program annoying and confusing :). In my opinion, the website is difficult to navigate and there are too many different kinds of rewards with different stipulations. The first time we tried using surprise points in a store, the cashier said we didn’t have any, and later, customer service said we had to SAY that we wanted to use our reward points in order to unlock the surprise points. In talking to customer service (the lady was very nice and gave us a $5 credit for our trouble), it seems like they know it’s confusing and that cashiers aren’t all on the same page, so I’d recommend taking a print-out of your coupons or points to the store just in case.

So if you regularly shop at the three stores above, I would definitely recommend joining (it’s free), but be warned πŸ™‚ that the points and coupons often have exclusions/requirements that may not be obvious.

  16. Cyndi

What day did the last banner points show up in anyone’s account. It had said I received both but I never got them.

  17. melissa

    I got both thanks!!!

  18. ace

Thanks for this post. As I redeemed at checkout, I realized I had $20 in points (from shopping Sears Clerance sale this weekend). I decided to look up leappads since I was thinking of getting one for my 4 year olds birthday…They have the Leappad2 princess bundle for $49.99! I used my $20 in points, plus got free shipping for being a MAX member (which I got for free). So $32 total. It is not the $17.50 staples deal you posted about earlier, but I still think it is a good deal for Leappad2 and a case plus stickers and wallpaper.

    • ace

That 1st line should say as I visited the kmart site to get the free point..not “as I redeemed at check out”

  19. Brindha

Got them both today! Thanks! Today’s points will show up on may 10th.

    • Brindha

Also did anyone who did the Starbucks deal couple of days ago at Zulily get a email from them stating that the egift card will be sent out only next week?

    • fran

      Thanks, BT!!

      • BT

        You’re welcome!

  20. V

I buy my items online and get in store pick up for free. In my area the prices in store are much higher.

  21. Julie

My Kmart has .25 clothing clearance!

  22. Christine

I just looked on my account and I was awarded 15000 bonus points today.
