My local walmart had construction themed party supplies on clearance.
You can have different work stations….”construct your cupcake”…homemade cup cakes…icing in different colors…sprinkes etc
but before they start working….All workers must put on their safety gear…
construction hats (dollar tree), eye goggles. Work belts/apron
Create safety signs. ” Caution …party zone ahead” “yield” “construction site”
put party favors in brown paper bags…gives that construction worker bag lunch look…decorate the bags
Purchase the yellow caution tape strip and use as some of your decor also the little cones are at dollar tree ..If your son has dump trucks sanitize and place them on the table for decor..
If you do candy….maybe gummy worms….make your own banner ….There are different print fonts available online and cardstock would give a firm and colorful background
.possibilities are big with this theme ….have fun!!

Something my son likes to do is hammer golf tees into styrofoam. I bet you could ask golf friends or golf course for some tees. Or if you’re up for it hammer some nails into wood in a design or spell their name and wrap some yarn around for color. You might be able to call Lowes or Home Depot and see if you could have some of their left over kids build craft kits.
Also maybe ask a golf shop. Ours gives away old stock golf tees.
