Heads up all you Target Shoppers! If you’re a fan of Amazon’s Subscribe & Save Program, did you know that Target.com is offering up a similar subscription program? To get started, simply head over here and shop for eligible subscription items – choose from baby, household, grocery, beauty, home/office, pet items and more! Once you find an item you like, choose how often you’d like to receive your order (you can cancel at any time!) and complete your purchase.

And here’s the best part – for the next few days (through 7/19!), Target.com is offering up 20% off all subscriptions (normally only a 5% discount). In addition to this 20% off discount, items you “subscribe” to will be shipped for FREE! And if you have a Target REDCard, you will also receive your normal 5% off discount.

Have you used Target’s new subscription program? How did the prices compare to other online retailers like Amazon.com?

(Thanks, Cora!)

I just compared the swaddlers big (ultra big? I can’t remember the name) pack to Amazon’s with Mom/Prime, and Amazon was cheaper.
The toilet paper was cheaper than what I normally pay at Walmart, so I got some 🙂

Don’t you have to pay to join amazon mom, though? Is this subscribe program free with target?

      • jac

No cost to join amazon mom.

        • S

If you already have prime it’s free to join amazon mom

          • Stephanie

            Yes, but prime is $79/year!

            • Amanda

              prime is now $99 a year 🙁

            • RA Cashier

              It’s cheaper for college students!

You do have to pay for prime, but I find that the cost is worth it. I commute a long distance to work and the last thing I want to do on the weekend is go out in the car and fight Saturday traffic to the various stores. I’d rather hang out at home and enjoy. I bought prime a long time ago and average probably 3 shipments a week. The freedom to buy whatever I need and have it shipped for free is worth the $99 a year we pay now. I mean, today I’m ordering a life jacket for my dog. It is $12 and I don’t have to worry about shipping. I ordered new filters for my sweeper and last week I ordered some random tool that we needed to cut brush. They were all the same price as buying them in the store, but they shipped free with 2-day shipping. I didn’t waste any of my weekend going out to find them – AND I didn’t have to worry about waiting until I had a $35 order to get them shipped free.

Plus, I get books free on my kindle, free movies streamed to our blu-ray player, etc. I find that for our family, Prime is a great deal! I share the benefits of shipping with my Mom and my sister-in-law, and I think it is worth every penny!

I’ll still use Target subscriptions if the cost is right, but for the stuff I just looked up (our dog food, etc.) I get better deals elsewhere or the items aren’t eligible for subscriptions yet.

I’m trying it out for the first time. The Brawny select-a-size came in a bit cheaper than Amazon – at least with this promo. Thanks for the heads-up, Collin! 🙂

  3. Jenn

I got Charmin Basic double roll toilet paper 36 pack for $13.56 with tax (and with extra 5% off with Target debit card), and I thought that was a pretty good price, especially for not having to leave my house! 🙂

I feel like the Up&Up Diapers would be a good price with this… Size fours for 14.36 cents each…

    • hazylazysusan

I ordered the Size 4 Up & Up. I may cancel before the second shipment, but it’s certainly a good price for the first box.

  5. Barb J

got toilet paper and paper towels for 13.78 shipped. thanks.

  6. Carm

I subscribed to dog food. Thanks!

Does anyone know if you can use web coupons with this program?

    • cosa

This is an online program. What kind of coupon would you use? It looks like you can get the gift card promos, if the item qualifies for both promotions ($14 bottle of gain had $10 gift card when you buy 3. You would get the 20% and the 5% and gift card. ) if there was a promo code for the products you could probably use it too.

  8. ihearthip

Wondering if the laundry detergent is a good buy this way.

  9. Kristin

So if you sign up now do you continue to receive 20% off, or will it drop to the 5% later?

  10. Melissa

I was wondering the same thing- does the 20% off price get locked in, or is it only for the first order, and then the price goes up with the second order?

    • Katrina Owen

It’s only for the first order. Then it’s 5% off and an additional 5% if you use your target card.

    • mskitty739

it’s only for the first order. After that you get 5% off and an additional 5% if you use a target card.

  11. Angela

It was my understanding that the 20% off was until 7/19.

  12. shannon

The 20% is for this week only.

  13. lovingandlaughing

This makes for a good deal on Balance Bars. I wish Luna bars were eligible, but they do not seem to be.

  14. Mariah

I like this idea for my pet items because I always buy cat food, dog food, puppy pads, dog treats and cat litter at Target, and this way they’d come right to my door. However unless the 20% off is locked in for the duration of your subscription, I’m thinking this doesn’t make much sense for most items. From my understanding, the 20% off only applies to the first subscription order. If that’s that case, then my dog’s food is $13.68 shipped, which is good. I usually pay about $14.00 for it after all coupons and offers in store. But if I subscribe to my pet items and always have them in stock at home, then I will miss out on being able to use the $10 off $50 pet purchase offers that come up in store. I will also be unable to use the “buy 3 pet items get a $10 gift card.” In my opinion, if you use coupons and cash in on Target store offers regularly, this will probably cost you more in the long run.

    • Mariah

So, unless the 20% is locked in for the duration of the subscription, I’ll end up paying full price for every following order. Which makes no sense to do, because I can use coupons and in store offers by going to the store.

  15. Holly

Does this only apply online? Will target store price match their online products?

  16. Tara

Anyone using this for bulk box of wipes, you can apply coupon code TGTASAV4 for $2.00 off, it worked on mine!!

  17. mskitty739

Someone asked earlier (to lazy to scroll through) about the Scott toilet paper and if it was the bonus pack that you get? I just got my order ( I placed it on the 17th so it was super fast) and it was the 30 bonus pack.
