Staples will not be doing $.01 deals this year per the Staples employees on the Staples Reddit thread. They have what they call their LIST of items that will be the same price during the entire BTS.
Office Depot did the .01 index cards a few weeks ago.
Not sure if this has anything to do with the fact that they will not be doing their .01 deals this year but Staples offered a deal to NY government with some .01 deals. Apparently, people went overboard (imagine that!) and Staples lost a lot of money.

Staples is really lacking on the deals. Walmart seems to be the place to beat this BTS season.

I agree. I thought that Staples would have better deals for back to school but I guess no.
I keep waiting for .25 Crayola crayons. The $2 Prang paints are a good deal and the best of the inexpensive children’s paint. My son’s kindergarten list requires them.

yeah, really surprised at the lack of deals at Staples this year—last year I was there weekly; this year not at all so far.
The only deal Staples has had was the 12 pack of Sharpie Markers for $1.00. I was able to get 10 packages.
Does anyone know if Walmart will price match the $.17 notebooks? TIA.

I live in Tn–our “sales tax holiday” begins on the first of August–so whenever your state offers this; is going to be best time to take advantage of these offers
