How can we tell if the $2 just4u eCoupon is a store coupon or manufacuture coupon? Sometimes when I try to combine just4u and manufacture coupon it beeps and it depends on cashier to override it or not.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

It is a store coupon and is also found in the weekly ad. Hope that helps!

      • Ashley Dougherty

Actually it is not a store coupon. It is a manufacturer’s coupon. Safeway is a little tricky but here is some info.
If you see the $2 coupon says CLIP OR CLICK and if you load to your card. Than click on the tab “My Card” and you will see the Tide coupon is listed as an MFG coupon which is a manufacturer’s coupon. Therefore, you cannot stack two manufacturer’s coupon. Rule of thumb for Safeway is Safeway coupons are typically an exact price like Tide $6.99 and manufacturer’s coupons are $2 off.

        • DeAnn

I did this deal Thursday (since I didn’t know if I could go on Friday) and the in ad paper coupon appears to be a mfr coupon, and when I used it with the load2card coupon it cancelled it out. I am thinking that this deal is not going to work like it is advertised here.

      • jessica

I called corporate to ask, they said the coupon in the ad is actually a Manufacturer coupon !!! No stacking allowed:(

  2. franz

Is the J4U ecoupon a manufacturer coupon?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

It should be a store coupon as mentioned in the weekly ad.

  3. Taylor S

Collin, Safeway’s policy is that you can either use the ecoupon or the clipped coupon, but you can’t stack them. πŸ™

    • Janel

My thoughts exactly you can’t stack

    • Ger

Collin said to use the clipped coupon OR the printed one on the ad AND manuf coupon.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sorry for the confusion! The $2/1 in-ad coupon I’m seeing has a bar code that starts with a 0, which I’m assuming that is a store coupon?! If I’m incorrect, can someone please let me know?! Thanks!

      • Mia

Hi Collin πŸ™‚ Best way for everyone to check coupons is to add coupons and than to go on tab My list and there they can see is it store or manuf. coupon. HTH

        • lovedeals

Thanks Mia. What I see it’s a manuf. coupon. Your tip is very helping.

          • Mia

you are welcome. I always add m.c to card and cut store coupon from weekly ad. Good luck πŸ™‚

        • imjustagirl

I have tried stacking them, used to work when the program began but not now. I loaded coupon to my account, and scan paper coupon at the self check out. Only the highest coupon taken off. Bum, they are on to us.

      • Ashley Dougherty

Yes you are incorrect it is a Manufacturer’s Coupon!! I explained above.

  4. franz

I thought “save” meant manufacturer coupon and “off” meant store coupon.

    • CarolW

You are correct, but Procter and Gamble product coupons are the exception to that rule.

    • Delia

That’s how it’s been working for me when I use coupons at Safeway. I checked my J4U & I only have a Save $2 coupon so I can’t stack it. But I’m going to check the ad in the a.m. just in case…..

  5. Taylor S

Collin, unfortunately Safeway’s coupon policy states that you can use either the ecoupon or the clipped coupon, but not both. πŸ™

  6. Christina

Once you add it to your card, it will state if it is an MFG or store coupon. This Tide coupon shows up at a MFG for me so cannot be combined with the PG coupon.

    • Courtney

Thanks for that tip. I didn’t know that before. When you click on “My Card” it says it’s a MFG coupon on J4U.

  7. Lehua Coloma

When I look at the active offers on my card, it lists the $2 tide q as a manufacturer NOT store coupon. That means the store wouldn’t accept the $2/1 P&G mq from this Sunday’s inserts in addition to the one offered.

  8. Jamie

The coupon I’m seeing online in the coupon center is a one-time manufacturer’s coupon that we wouldn’t be able to combine with a printed MFG coupon…

  9. Ash

You can’t combine both coupons. Only one coupon just 4 u or Manf coupon. So this deal is no go.

  10. Michele

When loading Safeway E-coupons, If the coupons says “$2.00 off” it is a store coupons. If the coupon states “Save $2.00” it is a manufacture coupon. The store coupon for the Tide is not available online, You will have to clip that coupon. HTH πŸ™‚

    • CarolW

with the exception of Procter and Gamble product coupons. Those don’t follow the save/off rule.

  11. Danny

If its in the store ad doesn’t that mean its a store coupon and can only be used there? Sorry new to this.

  12. franz

There is no clip coupon in my Safeway ad, maybe Randall’s ad is different.

  13. Natasha

In the Randall’s ad on the front page there is a coupon that says $2 OFF. That is a store coupon. You cut that and use it with the P&G coupon and they both work. You CANNOT use the online $2 Tide coupon (its says SAVE $2.00) as that is a Manf coupon and cannot be used with the P&G coupon.

  14. franz

My mistake, it is clipable store coupon on the front of the Safeway ad. It says $2.00 OFF, which is a store coupon.

  15. angelahoang12

Okay… you CAN use the $2 J4U Safeway digital coupon combined with a paper manufacturer coupon.

You CAN NOT use the $2 J4U Safeway paper coupon combined with the $2 J4U Safeway digital coupon. I think that is where the confusion is.

Sometimes there is the manufacturer coupon you can add to your card instead of clipping. If you use the digital manufacturer coupon and the digital J4U coupon then you CAN NOT use any paper coupons. The cash register will beep.

I shop at Safeway weekly and take full advantage of their digital offers when I can. So I would like to think I have a pretty good understanding of how it works. Hopefully that helped.

  16. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sorry for the confusion! It appears the eCoupon is a manufacturer’s coupon, so you’ll need to clip the coupon out of your local ad to get this price. Please be sure to check your local ad to see if your store has a coupon before heading out.

    • brta

Even if it is a store coupon, Safeway does not allow the stacking of a store coupon with a MFR coupon

      • Tasha K

Yes, they allow you stack a store coupon with a manufacturer coupon

        • Teresa

          My Safeway doesn’t.

    • Ashley Dougherty

The clipped ad coupon or the click ecoupon is the exact same. You cannot stack either. They are all manufacturer’s coupons!!

      • DeAnn

Yep. This deal is a NO GO. How disappointing!

  17. Michelle

So will it work if I add the mfq for $2 to my card and use the clipped in-ad store coupon with it? Or will it beep at me because I have that mfq on my card? Thanks!!

    • Mia

It will no beep cuz on J4U is m.coupon and in ad is store coupon. HTH

      • Michelle

That’s what I figured, I was just confused with all of the back and forth posts. Thanks!

        • DeAnn

What I am reading from other couponer websites is that the in ad paper coupon is really a mfr coupon. Today will either prove this or not.

  19. suzie

The coupon says click or clip when I clicked and added it to my card it ways manf coupon. Wouldnt clipping it still mean its a manf? and unusable with the P&G coupon
(Sorry newbie and dont want to mess up lol)

  20. Chel

My randalls does not allow me to stack 2 (dollar off) coupons

  21. Cannielle

I think the IAQ would scan as a MQ as well.

  22. Christina

I shop Safeway quite frequently, and they occasionally do stack. In the app, if i click a coupon under just4u, it has stacked with a paper coupon. It’s happened with cereal, Philly cream cheese and Ride Oxi in the past.

  23. DeAnn

I went in today and bought one Tide, using the -$2 in ad coupon and the load2card coupon and after my transaction I noticed on my receipt that they cancelled each other out, so BEWARE. The gal at customer service was nice and gave me back $2. I may try again with a paper coupon and see if that works differently.

    • Holly

Your situation makes me think they altered their systems.
It’s obvious the J4U Q is an MQ, and the in-ad Q is a storeQ (also considering the J4U Q has the MQ exclusions v.s. the in-ad Q states only “liquid detergent 46-50 oz).

  24. Holly

In the past, when Safeway had this in-ad Q available, I was able to use that and an MQ together. But I wonder if Safeway altered things since then.

This is where Safeway messed up with their policy…
It states, “If a customer presents 2 COUPONS for the same item in a single transaction, Safeway will give the highest discount for that item, subject to the terms of the applicable offer and/or coupon.”

BUT Safeway doesn’t specify if they are referring to a store coupon or MQ. But an MQ is mentioned with this line, “Safeway does not allow a customer to redeem two or more manufacturer coupons against the same item in a single transaction”.

  25. Ana G

I just came back from Safeway. The computer accepts the physical weekly ad $2 store coupon and the $2 MQ.

One word of advice. *Don’t load anything Tide onto your Safeway card*.

It just cancels out one of the coupons and you only get one $2 discount. There were plenty of weekly ad papers in the front of the store. So don’t load anything and just head to the store with your MQ’s

So….. it is working!!! $1 + tax for Tide! YAY!

    Thanks Collin!

  26. M

The paper coupon from the ad is not working with the mfr coupon. My safeway said this has been a problem all day and they were adamant that the paper coupon from the ad is a mfr coupon even though it is not printed on it. I called their corporate number to complain (because the manager at my store did her best to try to make me feel about two inches tall) and they said they have been besieged with complaints about this offer. Seriously, I feel so crappy now that I don’t even want the $1 laundry detergent I eventually left with. πŸ˜•

  27. ish

I managed to get 2 tides for $1+tax but then they said the rest i cant get it for that price, πŸ™ they’re stupid.

  28. jessica

I used paper in-ad coupon and manuf paper coupon and it beeped. They said can only use one or the other. Period. So disappointed.

  29. jess

Called corporate and they said in-ad coupon is actually a manufacturer coupon regardless of the wording, the zeros in front, the look, and all other obvious signs. πŸ™ no stacking

  30. Nancy

I got mine for $1 and no tax in Oregon

  31. Patty

My Safeway refused to stack the manufacturers coupon with the in ad coupon. She said as of July 31, they are no longer allowing the stack.
