Check out the reader deal sent in by reader, LeeAnna:

Just wanted to let you know that at Target, the Rosetta Stone language programs (levels 1-5) are down from $479 to $249! Also, there is a 45% cartwheel that makes them around $145 with tax!! That’s less than level 1 alone (which is $169!). I’m super stoked about this!!!

(Thanks, LeeAnna!)

My hubby needs this… will check my target out – thanks!

  2. heatheranne

Sadly, the cartwheel specifically says: Save an additional 10% off in store price of $249, Our Lowest Price Ever. Includes Spanish, English, German, Italian and French.

It’s a 45% savings off normal price, but only 10% off sale price, which makes it about $225. Still a great price though.

    • LeeAnna

Well, I bought it this morning and paid $145 without any issues. I didn’t see the small print and just handed the cashier my phone (cartwheel) and that’s the price I got!!

    • JDmomma

      Hi,

The cartwheel fine print is referring to the level 1 only packages (only 10% off of those).

All the levels 1-5 language packages should be an additional 45% off of the sale price with the cartwheel.

The details on the cartwheel site read “Save an additional 10% off in store price of $249, Our Lowest Price Ever. Includes Spanish, English, German, Italian and French.” So I’m thinking it’ll probably be $220, so a total savings of 45%.

  4. Audreyquang

    Amazon has it for 249

    • C

Some states are charged sales tax from amazon, like mine, so the sales tax “savings” does not always apply 🙂

  5. Audreyquang

Without tax…so it is almost same price at target

  6. Blair

Does anyone know how good this program really is compared to other language programs? Thanks for any info!:)

    • Becky

I am a Spanish teacher (preschool through adult) – while I have played around with this program, and it has good things about it, please don’t think that you can learn a language solely through a computer program! I encourage my adult students who really want to use a computer program to ALSO take a class – you need interaction with people in order to learn a language. Plus, Rosetta Stone doesn’t explain the grammar – they expect you to “get it” through constant exposure. I have adult students in one of my classes who have gained a lot of vocabulary (from using Rosetta Stone), but didn’t know how to use the language until I explained grammatical concepts to them. There is a FREE! program out there called Duo Lingo. You can use it on your computer or get it as an app. I would suggest that before spending lots of money on a program.

      • Kelli

Thank you for the tip Becky! My son is dual-enrolled in homeschool and he is in his 2nd year of Spanish. I’ve been helping him learn it. IMO, it’s a very hard language to learn. The grammar is insane and I’m finding it hard to understand all the rules. I’m going to try the app you suggested.

Try Chinese, it will kill you!
DD is currently been spoken to three language, I don’t know if she is able to keep up with them all as time goes by! Her Spanglish just drives nuts.

      • Maria

Thanks Becky! I really want to learn Arabic

      • Diana

I agree, Duo Lingo is great! We love that one AND Pimsleur too.

      • Melissa

        Thanks Becky!

      • Lisha

        Thanks.

    • makaylaisabel

This is top of the line out there especially for beginners. The military uses and recommends it as well. My ex used it all the time. Of course, later you may want to interact and even visit a Spanish speaking country to force you to interact but its a great start. Free programs are free for a reason.

    • Samantha

Idk if it’s different for different languages but it was pointless for my husband in learning Swedish, but then he tried a program called Pimsleur- it was soooo much better! He learned more in a couple weeks than he had learned in a few months with Rosetta Stone.

      • Retta

I agree that pimsleur is great. I got it from my library & copied the CDs.

  7. Kelly

Is there one so people can learn English?

    • Mary Beth

There is an English version at Target

  8. Jennifer Wilson

My library started carrying Rosetta Stone! Nothing like free knowledge! 😉

  9. Erin

If you use your red card would you still be able to save an additional 5%?

    • Tasa

      Yes! 🙂

    • SaraSue92

      Yes you will

  10. Chris72

I just picked one up and the 45% off worked and with my red card I only paid $139.37.

  11. Alison

I want to learn French and my hubby wants to learn Chinese. Can I get two? Or is it just one per cartwheel? Thank you!

    • Kathryn Meyer

4 per transaction on Cartwheel, with a maximum of 6 transactions per day.

      • Alison

        Awesome, thanks for the help.

  12. Deanna Z

I just went and bought the spanish and german version for my girls for Christmas. The cartwheel brought it down to 136.95 each(45% discount off the $249) and then I received 5% more off for using my Target card. There were no problems at checkout.

  13. Mandi

You are NOT going to believe this… I came to this site tonight to look for Rosetta Stone coupons!! We have a foreign exchange student from Germany this year and want to learn her language. I cannot wait I to try the coupon!!

    • Wren

Mandi, I don’t know if you read the comments above already but other readers had lots of good tips too, some options free too.

      • Mandi

I did! I have downloaded DuoLingo. I am super excited!

  14. mamasweetpea08
