My family loves these pickles (and the other veggies included ;). I too love the mason jars but was wondering how others re-use these jars. Are you able to get the smell out of the lid? I tried to put a new lids (normal & wide mouth) onto these jars so I could use them at Christmas time for homemade Chai & ready make cookie jars but they were too small & too big. Any ideas….???

I re-use a couple of other pickle jars to mix up vinegrettes & other shakeable sauces & I remember it took a few runs through the dishwasher until I finally didn’t smell the pickle anymore. I just kept it in the dishwasher & everytime I unloaded I would give it a sniff test. I remember a while back there was a post on this site I think with other ideas like baking soda etc but I don’t remember the details. Hth!
