Enjoy, then watch John Oliver’s twist on Olive Garden.

    • mike

Ha…but their pots remain under warranty.

  3. brandice

    Score…..thanks Collin

    • nicolegammeter

      YW! 🙂

  4. Lana

I think it stinks that it is one per table. So, I ask my friend to meet for lunch and then whip out my coupon and she cannot use one? Boo Olive Garden! And no, I don’t want to go to lunch alone. 🙁

    • April

You can ask if they can seat you at tables next to one another!

    • Shanshan

Oh man I dislike this type of coupons. 1 per table, even if people are not from the same family. Tsk tsk tsk… It’s not a “free” lunch coupon, just a discount. I don’t get it…

      • April

They dont want it to be used often I get what they are doing and its wrong. How do u decide who gets to use it with a table of more than one person. I suggest people get seperate tables n tell them why. If they want a restaurant full of tables of only one person id do that.

    • Kristen

That’s what I was thinking! I wanted to suggest to a friend that we go there but that seems kind of rude … I’m going to get this $5 meal but you have to order something for regular price.

    • Debbie

It does kind of stink but you could split the bill evenly if your friend orders something regular price so you could both receive a part of the discount 🙂

    • fran

You are saving $2.49 with this coupon, so like Debbie suggested, just split the bill. You can both get the all you can eat soup, salad and breadsticks and it will cost you $6.25 each for 2 people,

    • Noel

I think it totally stinks too!!! What a bummer. :[ But, for a party of two, as long as you both ordered the Lunch Combo (one at $5 and one at regular price … I think it’s $6.95), you could split the bill 50/50, so you’d both be getting a small discount. But, more than two people it’s almost not worth the discount. … Olive Garden’s had a TON of deals lately. The chain must not be doing well.

    • Wren

Totally your call, but I agree with you all and think we should let OG know on their Facebook page. Yes, we are thankful for this coupon, however the restrictions they put on deals that are really only a slightly good deal in The first place, are ridiculous. Not being able to eat with a friend or fam member… which is what they advocate on all their commercials! Sheesh.

      • RB

Yes! Once I brought in their coupon and (after much deliberation, since I had never tried their food) ordered meals for both me and my bf then was told that it must be for dine-in only DESPITE NOTHING MENTIONED ABOUT THIS ON THE COUPON! Their other coupons apparently will specify if they’re good for takeout. So even though the wording doesn’t address this either way, they seem to feel people are supposed to somehow just realize -not- good for takeout. This made no sense to me. Manager made an exception, since the order was already placed and I was new business, but it shouldn’t be awkward to redeem a coupon. In fact, that’s the reason why in general my bf is reluctant to come dine in in the first place (embarrassed by coupon issues).

  5. Kay

So if my husband and I went only one of us could get the $5 deal?

  6. April

Says only one person can use per table so guess a lot of people will be eating alone!!!!

  7. Tanique

I hate eating alone as well but do it very often. I think they are very wrong for doing this indeed. Has anyone posted that on their FB page?

    • Kristen

I saw a few people did. They replied with something like, “Each coupon has its own unique restrictions. We’ll pass your feedback on to our marketing team!”

    • Lana

I already posted a comment about the horrible sauces for Never Ending Pasta bowls this year and that escalated into something I did not intend. I am not touching this one on their Facebook page! I did end up with a $30 gift card from the comment though.

  8. Jackie

Same here… I was gone go with a friend but it would be totally rude if I had a coupon and she couldn’t use one. I think I will pass Olive Garden. Not very nice

  9. debbielynne

I sent a tweet, no reply yet.

  10. Brittany

sit in the bar area next to each other!

    • mindy

i thought of the same thing….let’s all sit by the bar and no alcohol!

    • Rebecca

That’s what I was thinking! I was wondering if you could do that.

  11. Nora

This works perfect for my boyfriend and I as he only eats the zuppa Toscana and I only eat the seafood Alfredo. Thanks Collin!

    • nicolegammeter

      You’re welcome, Nora! 🙂

  12. CGY

Thanks for this link! Having spent a lot of time over the past 6 months helping to care for my mom (who had a stroke last spring) and my own family (hubby and 7 year old twin boys), I finally got a much-needed, well-overdue haircut today and treated myself to an inexpensive, but filling lunch! Love the soup, salad and breadsticks! What a treat!

    • brandice

      Awesome

  13. Guest

Why is it that big of a deal? It’s just breadsticks, salad, and soup which pretty much comes with an entree at regular price anyway. I wouldn’t want to just eat salad and bread but maybe I’m the hungry girl here talkin! Take it or leave it, it’s not a huge deal!!

  14. Tamara

I wrote to them on facebook and they asked me to send them a private message.
I heard about this deal on my coupon site. I read that it is one $5 lunch per table. So why would anyone want to go out to lunch with friends or a date to ONLY have one person at the table get a good deal on their lunch? Are we all misunderstanding your coupon?
Here is a reference, and you can read the comments below on what people think of this. Maybe the coupon is not what we think. Is it everyone at the table can have the $5 lunch deal? If so you may want to clarify

I will let you know what they say.

    HI Ladies,

I called our local Olive Garden ( OG)and spoke to the manager and he said he would honor it for my husband, myself and our 2 ten- year olds. We would each use one coupon. He said that would be odd for only 1 per table as 50% of people buy that exact combo.
Give you local OG a call and speak to the manager ahead of time! 🙂 That’s what I always do to a commitment upfront. He will be there when we are going in – if not they can leave a note for the manager on duty! 🙂

Hope that helps you all! 🙂

    Enjoy! 🙂

    • RB

Good suggestion. I’ve done that, too, before– for instance in cases when I knew I needed an exception to use a coupon after the date because the place is located out of the way. (Rather than just take a chance showing up with the coupon, I called before the coupon had expired to get permission and noted the name of the person in charge who okayed it.) I cannot recall an instance when the answer from the manager hasn’t been “yes”. There is so much competition. When they market the offers, they really do want our business.

    • Rebecca

Thanks syeo2013! At your suggestion, I called my local Olive Garden & the manager didn’t even hesitate when asking if they would honor the coupon for myself, my spouse & my 5 yr old.
