Can someone who is pretty familiar with SavingStar’s policies help me figure something out (I’m new to this program): Yesterday I shopped at Hy-Vee (which uses a card program) and the cashier forgot to scan my card even though she was holding it in her hand. I thought I could just submit my receipt to SavingStar instead but that’s not an option for Hy-Vee since it’s a “card” store. I sent an email to customer service explaining the issue. Does anyone know if they will let me submit a receipt in this case or am I just out of luck? I would be so disappointed if that’s the case because I spent about $20 on groceries specifically that were SavingStar items :-/ Thanks in advance!

    • savingstar

Hi Kasey, Thanks for using SavingStar. Please email us a copy of your receipt and list the items that you bought so we can help you out. Thanks, Josh from SavingStar

Has anyone had problems with money not being credited to your account for items you purchased? I bought the Sparkling Ice and the Liberte yogurt Jan 9th and they still haven’t credited.

    • savingstar

Hi Tara, I’m sorry to hear your credits did not post. The longest it takes any store to post credits is 22 days, and most stores are within 7 days. Please click the Contact Us link on our website so we can help you out. Thanks, Josh

Can anybody help me although I have sent email also but didn’t get a reply:( Other day I did St Ives lotion deal from Target buy $15 get back $5. I was trying to upload the target receipt but I can’t scan the UPC code from the bottles because saving scanner is unable to scan, it’s all black with a red line in the middle. So I can scan???

    • Hip mom

      *How can I scan?

    • savingstar

Hi – By any chance, are you using an iPhone or iPad for the scanner? It sounds like the camera privacy setting for our app on your device might be toggled off. On your iPhone or iPad, if you go to Settings, SavingStar, and Privacy, you’ll see an option to allow camera access to our app. Toggle that on, and you should be all set. Please let me know if that works. Thanks, Josh

        Hi Josh-

Can I ask you something? A few times, I have not been able to find the item sold in any stores. Can you start offering an alternate item? That was done once when no one could find the item… It’s hard when I try real hard to find it and it’s nowhere to be found. Thanks.

        • savingstar

Hi Linda, Thank you for the suggestion. I’ve passed it along to the team. -Josh

          • RB

Josh, I also like that idea, since many of us devote time to searching for it when we investigate in person and/or through store/product locator. This is beneficial for the manufacturer regardless of whether or not we can find an item (i.e. even if the item isn’t yet carried locally or is out of stock during the 3-day SavingStar offer window), since In the process, much marketing attention is garnered for the product.

Thank you Josh so much that worked ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

I am very unsure about using savings star and am debating can anyone tell me how easy it is to use and get money back if i go to walmart, target or kroger stores such as smiths?

    • savingstar

Hi! I’m happy to answer any questions if you have any. We’ve been around since 2011 and have grown to 6 million members. Our mobile app has a 4.2 out of 5 star rating which is a testament that we will do our best to help you save money on groceries. You can redeem SavingStar offers at all the stores you listed. Just submit pictures of your receipt from top to bottom through our mobile app or website (along with scanning or inputting the UPCs of the products you bought). Cash back will generally post within 7 days. Thanks, Josh

Hey Lina-They’ve had sugar as a Friday free item a couple of times. Do you have any easy recipes that might use some of this brown sugar? You have such great recipes, just thought I would see… and if not, that’s ok. I LOVE your recipes. Thanks.
