Hi I just came from CVS and they have both small bags of starburts and lifesaver jellybeans for $.50. I also got the free after rewards $.87 candy so my total came to $3.87 so they gave me the full value on one coupon for the $2 and adjusted the other to $1.87 so my total was $0.00 for some reason it didn’t even charge me tax. I then got the $.87 RR and bought 2 buckets of cotton candy for $1.00 and I paid $.20 for those. So for $.20 I got 6 bags of jellybeans, 1 bag of robin eggs and 2 buckets of cotton candy!!

Does this apply to the Kroger affliates?

I have a Foods Co. in my area.

Does this apply to Fred Meyers?

I went to both Walgreens and Cvs and neither registers would except the coupons. Walgreens said it was a cvs coupon and I told them it was a manufacturer but after talking to 2 managers they said it was for cvs only. So I hit the road to cvs where I found the small bags of lifesavers jelly beans on sale 2 for $1 but for some reason the register would not except the coupons either 🙁

    • Michelle

If i were u I would go back to cvs and either get 2 bags for $1 and 1 m&m egg for $1.19 or 4 bags and make your total at least $2… Than if that still doesnt work ask for a manager and let them know u have met the requirements for the coupon and hopefully that will work!

      • Steve S.

I had bought 6 bags for 50 each and it wouldn’t even take one coupon off. Maybe I will have to go back and try again and this time ask for a manager because I need candy lol.. thanks for your feedback Michelle.

Yes YMMV for sure I was at Walgreens today and the coupon does beep. The code on the coupon is for items only starting with a 40000 on the barcode and the small bags of starburst jelly beans UPC does not start with this so it’ll beep at any store. You’ll have to show them the wording and they’ll have to push it through, but my Walgreens isn’t coupon friendly so it was a no-go.

    Thanks!

      You are welcome! 🙂

Wouldn’t it make more since to get 4? Your total would be $2, which is what the coupon will take off. So, you could actually get 4 free bags!

    • Andrea

      That’s how I worked it also 🙂

  7. Steph

Kroger would not accept the coupon earlier today(beeped and they will not push anything through that beeps anymore) and CVS in my area doesn’t carry the small size.

    • Erin

      Where did you find them?

      • Steph

Check where the Easter candy/items are in your store. Good luck.

I cant believe what they did at my kroger yesterday! Well started last time i went – manager said he wont accept any manuf coupons on clearance items (or “manager specials,” as they call everything in their clearance section w/ the orange stickers.) Am I the only 1 who has never heard or read such a policy at any grocery, drug store, etc. (EXCEPT when coupon specifies it cant be used clearance deal &/or sales, which is usually on store coupons i believe.) Anyway kroger is remodeling & had some great finds on clearance, altho many items had packaging that was torn, smashed, covered in unidentified sticky substances (& even things like sunscreen that expired in 2013!) When i went to the line to ck out, the cashier’s phone rang & i could totally tell it was the manager saying dont accept any of her coupons on the clearance items cuz the cashier started lookin my way & started sayin “oh is she…” & then suddenly stopped talkin cuz he realized the manager was hoping to be discreet (mission failed, idiots). So i acted like i 4got something & changed lanes just to make sure (& to give the dumb coupon nazi manager the same hard time & be a pain in the @$$ just as he was)…sure enough – that other cashiers phone also rang ( but he had scanned most coupons already, & might i add – all of them rang up without any beeps.) Then cashier suddenly says “oh wait i cant accept this 1 or this 1″…ok, WOW. It was definitely the manager treating me like Im somehow taking $ out of his pockets. I prob had 20-30 items, & only 5 or 6 coupons for $1-3 each, which woulda made 3 $3 items & 2 or 3 $2 items free.
In general i use VERY FEW coupons there EVER!
CANT REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I GOT SOMETHING FREE THERE THAT WASNT A FRIDAY FREEBIE! Yet still the manager felt the need to do all that crap, why? cuz he doesnt like the akwardness of imposing an unwritten & unheard of policy, as if 100% of all discounts come out of his payck? Still speechless about the managers behavior, not to mention the IMO senseless policy. Sorry so long but any1 else heard of this policy, & if so, where?

that type of creature is a control freak and a bully. I really find him so creepy! I’ve been a frys shopper and I haven’t experienced such. I remember one time when I had a coupon for an item on clearance and I asked the cashier if frys accept coupons on clearance items and she told me they do.

      • iamoved22

Please report that manager to Kroger’s headquarters, let them know you feel harassed and uncomfortable shopping in the store. He should not be acting like that. Since stores are reimbursed by the manufacturers for the coupons we use there is no reason for him to be behaving that way. When I use coupons on Kroger’s markdown items they almost always beep (often the description on the tag is not even close to what the product is) but after verifying that I did purchase the item the cashiers always take my coupons, in the rare occurrence that they don’t I just ask them politely to take the item off my order (unless it’s something that is still a great deal or we need it)

Kroger is strange in their coupon “policy.” In my experience, coupons are totally fine on anything on a regular sale price, on clearance, or on closeout. However, I have been refused coupons on anything that has that yellow “Manager’s Special” sticker, which has been my experience at every single Kroger I’ve been to – the register beeps and the cashiers will not override it. Every other type of sale or clearance should accept coupons, though! I’ve gotten some GREAT prices with coupon stacks on “closeout” items with white tags at a local store that was closing. Again, I don’t know why they gaurd their “manager’s special” items but coupons should be accepted on everything else.

Some people act like jerks when u use coupons even if appropriately or only few coupons with a large transaction. You could have 25 items and 4 coupons and they’ll still give u a hard time. They will say mean things to get other customers to give u dirty looks. At first, during my coupon usage, those cashiers/manager will team up to embarrass me and I would feel nervous or bad about holding up line. Sometimes I would tear up from their rudeness when I first started couponing but now I’m so used to their rudeness towards couponers that I don’t give a f anymore. I don’t let it bother me anymore. I just move on to the next deal.

I found clinical strength secret on “clearance” at my smiths for $2.29 and used 2 $2 mq= $0.29 ea! I had no problems using them. And i found gogo squeeze on clearance for $1.29- but recent coupon expired, boo. I got home and found a new coupon for $0.75 off 1!!!!! Oh darn it! Could’ve got it for $0.54!!!

  10. Fran

I avoid a Kroger’s in my area because they are not very coupon friendly. Somehow it came up in conversation with a cashier at a different Kroger’s and she called the manager over. He said “wow–I will have to bring that up at our next area meeting. That is not a perception we ever want to give at Kroger’s.” I think it’s like everything else–a few bad apples. I suspected this candy coupon was going to be problematic. I love couponing but sometimes you have to pick your battles… 🙂

  11. Barb

I used the coupon at Kroger in NC to purchase 4 bags of Starburst Jelly Beans at $0.50 to be sure to meet the $2 and no beeps-4 bags free!!!!

  12. Minnie

I bought 8 of the mini bags of starburst jellybeans (2/$1), used 2 coupons- went through just fine. No beeps! 8 free mini- bags!
