Apple Retail Stores: FREE Apple Kids Camp for Ages 8-12 (Make Reservations Now!)
Apple stores are once again hosting Apple Camp for kids ages 8-12 throughout this summer! This FREE camp lasts 1 1/2 hours per day on 3 separate days and is available at Apple Retail Stores throughout the country.

They’ll learn to make movies or create interactive books complete with their own illustrations and sound effects. And each workshop ends with the Apple Camp Showcase so campers can share their finished projects.[/h2s_box]
Keep in mind that space is limited and workshops fill up quickly, so head on over here and sign your kids up now! Just select your state and store and you will then be able to select the week you would like to sign up for (each child is limited to no more than one Apple Camp workshop). Please note that a parent must stay with your child(ren) during Apple Camp. Campers must also bring along a signed Camp Permission Statement and a copy of their registration confirmation to attend.
(Thanks, Jackeline!)
I have been waiting for this all summer! My daughter loved this last year. My computer keeps trying to keep me off their page telling me its a bad website, but I finally got registered. Yeah!
Me too! I have been stalking the Apple site all summer! ๐ My youngest just turned 8 so he can finally take the class!
Glad you were able to register! ๐
Been waiting all summer as well, we missed out last year since we were out of town when signups started. Just sad that you can only sign up for one class, not both.
Thank you!!!
You’re welcome! ๐
Took a while but I got through, thanks!
๐
My son LOVED the iBook camp last year. Been waiting all summer for signup and was able to get him in the iMovie one this year. I’m going to have my niece and nephew during the same time so I was able to sign them up as well. Yay!
Fun! ๐
For those of you who have sent your kids here before, what all do they do?
In the movie class, they use garage band and iMovie apps to create a movie that they show to everyone the last day. In Stories in motion, they create an story using their own words and photos and drawings using different apps and create an iBook.
My son has done them the past two years and loves them. They also get a free tshirt, name tag and a USB memory stick (it is a rubber bracelet so they don’t lose it)
my kids did the story animation one. they wrote a simple story, then made computer animations and used the computer to add movement and narration & page-turning. it was really cool!
my kids were 8 & 10. they loved it, and felt really grown-up, and since then my daughter has said that she wants to work at the Apple store when she grows up. she focused on her experience there when her school had a career-day, and she wore her FREE t-shirt, name-tag, and USB bracelet they gave her as part of the class.
My son turned 7 this summer, will they allow him?
i don’t know if they would exclude him, but i know it might be difficult for him even if they let him in.
because all the ages are all together in the same class, it could be hard to be the youngest one. the child would need good skills at remaining self-directed & focused to complete their project, and have to be able to do a class for an hour and a half straight of sitting. might also need the comprehension skills to equal his classmates’.
my kids did it last year, and my daughter (who is mature at sitting and being attentive) did well, but had just turned 8, so a whole year older than your son. if she had been younger, i don’t know if it would have been a good fit for her. i think if a child just finished 1st grade, instructions and expectations could have been over her head.
anyway, probably depends on the kid and and the store policy, but i hope this helps.
I have a 7 and a half year old who wants to attend so I called my local Apple Store and asked this question. They told me it was not an age policy just suggested guidelines. So they said if I think she is ready to go ahead and sign her up :). Hope this helps!
Oh awesome, I was wondering that too. Thank you very much!
Are you supposed to wait there or can you pick them up later?
You have to stay there. I liked watching what they were learning because I learned as well. Plus, if they really want to make the best book or movie they will need to work on it at home. This way you also know what to do.
Oh darn!! Just signed my daughter up but have a 1-year-old. I do not think she will last in the Apple store for that long!! I wash hoping to be able to walk around the mall.
You must stay with them. It kind of stinks because usually the mall is not even opened.
Finally got in and I’m so happy for my daughter. So sad they don’t have a class for teens too! Thxs Colin’
Thanks Collin!
Just got my 10 & 11 year olds registered. Thank you so much, Collin!!
Sounds like fun. This will be my sons first time there . Thx Collin .
We have done this two years in a row and have LOVED it! The tshirt alone would be worth doing it because it’s always cool and soooo soft, but of course, there is much more to it then that, lol. My 10yo is doing the iMovie one again because I think she’ll be that much better at it now that she’s two years older. This is one of my all time favorite Free things that I’ve ever done with my daughter and even though we’ve moved about 20 minutes further from the store, it’s still going to be worth the 45 minute drive in my opinion. Thanks for posting Collin! ๐
It sounds great!! Unfortunately I didn’t realize we have to stay with them the whole time… I signed up my 8 year old, but it may not be much fun for me to wait and watch with my 6 year old ๐
The first class we did was when my youngest was 6 and his older brother was in the class. My 6 year old kept busy playing on the iPads in the store and had a great time. HTH
Yeah that’s a good point, she does love playing on the iPads, haha ๐
Thanks to u Collin snagged a place in the camp for my kiddos.
Thanks so much, Collin! We had fun at the Books one last year and this year made it into the Movie one. Awesome! So excited!!
THANK YOU! I had signed up to be emailed when registration started and was never notified. You saved the day! Thanks!
So glad u posted it..got my twins in the ibooks..they will be so happy ๐ thanks!
