      I think it ended at midnight, I don’t think the amount already sold had anything to do with it from the looks of when it stopped working for people.

    Not holding my breath on this one. This is not the only blog this deal was posted on. It was posted on numerous websites. To read that people ordered multiples for sure will contribute to this deal getting cancelled. I don’t understand why people can’t be thankful to get just one. They feel like they have to take advantage of a good deal and over use it to their advantage. Stop being so greedy people! Seriously! Get one, be thankful, and be done.

          Nikki isn’t defending the action, she’s pointing out the deal was only valid for people who ordered before midnight. When I added the code to my account it said it expired August 1st and I was able to place my order of one mug before 12:00 AM. People didn’t start posting about how the code didn’t work until after midnight. No, it’s not fair that others abused it and ordered multiples but the deal was only valid for one day.

            I doesn’t matter how long it was valid for. That is not the argument I am making. Even if it was valid for 5 days, it still doesn’t make it right. So you feel it is appropriate for others to order multiplies through other emails to take advantage of a good offer? This is why deals like this are far and between. People abuse them. Do you think shutterfly honestly wanted people to order multiples? If they had, they would have allowed the code to be used more than once per account. I dont understand why this is so hard for people to process. It is wrong to abuse an offer to take advantage of it. What is the point you’re trying to make about how long the offer was good for? I never said anything about how long the offer was good for….

              Don’t work yourself up over stuff like this. It ALWAYS happens when free codes/offers pop up. You’re just not going to get those people to understand, they will still apply the code to however many accts/emails they have.

              Anyway, I just checked my email and my order status is Shipped! Yippee! (

              Well okay, wasn’t expecting a paragraph-long reply. I’m not sure how “it’s not fair that others abused it and ordered multiples” translated to “it is appropriate for others to order multiplies through other emails to take advantage of a good offer.” I jumped in because you accused Nikki and now myself of supporting multiple orders when we were pointing out why the code wasn’t working for people. No one started complaining about the code being invalid until after it had expired, and yet everyone accused of those who ordered multiples to be the reason why. Again, it is not fair for people to use multiple accounts to take advantage of free offers but that is not the reason why people weren’t able to place an order. That may be the reason why many of our orders won’t be approved, but still didn’t prevent us from placing the order in the first place. Shutterfly will do what is within their policy with those people who ordered from different email addresses to the same shipping/billing address. If you would like to be proactive about this I suggest contacting Shutterfly and reporting the people who ordered multiples: nothing will get done by ranting on a blog.

      My account says in production so I think I will be getting it. 🙂 I don’t see it getting canceled. They probably just give out so many free ones and then cut it off.

        I’m not reading much into my “in production” message…my status went to “in production” right after I placed the order…and I doubt it really went immediately into production during off hours on a weekend.

      People who have 10 email addresses where getting one with every account! Also those are the people who take ten free samples when there is only 200 available or things like that!

        Its the same when its comes to coupon abuse, that’s why the policy’s have become stricter over the years. Always a few bad apples ruin it for the bunch.

      I’m sure you would have received an email saying your order was cancelled. They received a lot of orders so it may take some time to get to yours. Don’t lose hope until receive a cancellation email!

    The more people abuse these free codes, the less companies will offer things like this at all. I happen to know from a friend this offer was for a special event and not intended for public distribution. Mistake for them. I hope they found and cancelled the multiple orders some people made.

      Well I read a post earlier that someone called the company and it was a deal that lasted until midnight. So I am sure if it wasn’t meant for everyone they would cancel the orders.

      If it wasn’t meant for the public, they would have squashed the code ASAP as hundreds+ of orders were coming in. I know other co’s have done that in the past, when a code was posted online that spread like wildfire that wasn’t meant for the public.

      AFA multiple orders to the same shipping address, I read from another site, that Shutterfly does indeed weed those out. So those thinking they ordered multiple freebies, will either get 1 or none.

        It was a code specific for another company (to show appreciation for their customers) that has to pay Shutterfly the agreed amount that Shutterfly gave it to them. It is just like the luggage tag code that was specific for JoAnns that many got a hold of and the 10 free cards from the moving company and freebies Davids Bridal and so on. So this company is out, not Shutterfly.

        The two I ordered were “in production” earlier, but both finally shipped 2 hours ago. (I ordered one for myself, and my 19 year old daughter ordered one. I let her use my credit card since she does not have one yet, two different shipping addresses.) I was worried we wouldn’t get either mug, it seemed to be taking a while. But mine just changed to shipped, so I’m sure you will get yours soon!
