Off topic, but “Your Mechanical Minions” is currently a doorbuster contest on SYWR and it gives $3 in surprise points.

    • Jen

      Thanks, Cassandra!

    • Rokia

Thanks for sharing Cassandra! You rock!

      • Tia

        Very cool, Cassandra! Thanks!

    • Lolie

      Thank you!

  3. Logan

Will they match online prices in store?

    • Catie

These are the instore prices this week, if I’m not mistaken, at least for the pencils

  4. jen

Does anyone know if the jumbo size elmers glue sticks go on sale? They are about $3 a 3 pk and my sons list has him needing 12….thinking of doing these smaller ones and saying tough.

    • Ksantos128

I bought some at Walmart for 4 for $1! My son also needs 12

      • JD

I saw it posted a while back on here 4/$1 for the large ones but I went to 2 Walmarts in my area and they are all about $1.49. Maybe it’s regional?

    • LaDonna

I haven’t seen them on sale, but Target has had the best prices around here. I wish I had waited for this $5 GC when you spend $25 deal. 🙂

    • Stefanie

      Yes, Walmart has them 4/$1!

      • jen

        Thanks, all!!

  5. LynnSNV

Heard the sticks will be on sale next week. Thank you Collin. Saves me a trip. Heading to Target & Staples today. 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome! 🙂

  6. J

Our list says for Avery brand 1oz glue sticks….hate when they’re brand/size specific! Anyone seen a good deal on these?

    • trace

If you have a costco membership I was able to find them there and free shipping.

      • J

I don’t (have SAMs) but thank you!

  7. Julie

    Thanks Collin!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      YW!

  8. Vicki

I’m wondering if anyone else has as much trouble with Targets website as I do. It took hours to do a baby registry. It’s so frustrating that pages won’t load. I keep trying to get to the checkout for the glue sticks and am about to give up.

    • Tia

No, I didn’t have any problem ordering the glue sticks.

    • Melissa

      Yes, horribly slow!!!

    • Ashley

I cannot get the website to load either.

    • Meg

I feel your pain! On my iPad it takes me forever to do anything on target.com

  9. Jennifer N

can you pick these up in store?

    • Jennifer N

I meant buy them in store?

    • Ella

      Yes you can.

  10. Kristin

In today’s coupon inserts there was a $1/2 BIC coupon and used it at target to make it bogo free for the mechanical pencils

  11. Melissa

As a parent I know it seems frustrating sometimes when teachers ask for specific brands or sizes of things. But from a teacher, trust me that there are good reasons for it. We have a lot of experience with different things that others wouldn’t think would be a big deal but they are! These are things like classroom management and even quality a lot of the time. So just know teachers aren’t trying to make life difficult for you!

    • J

Oh trust me I have tons of respect for teachers as I have many family members and friends who are! It’s just frustrating when one grade needs a different brand than the sibling in the next. A little more difficult for parents trying to budget school supplies! I will say I go above and beyond sending extras to the teacher when I can get deals, it’s just harder when they’re requesting the more expensive brands!

    • Teachermom

I agree. Our school system made teachers take all brand names from supply lists. We will now end up with pencils that won’t sharpen, dry erase markers that won’t erase, glue sticks that won’t stick, and markers that will only last a month. I have kids of my own to buy for, so I understand that some brands are more expensive, but the is a reason that they are. Quality counts! This decision will cost me as a teacher a fortune this year because I will be replacing supplies in a month. 😕

      • vmm

if they are provided by parents still in the packaging or as sold, you should be able to do no receipt returns on many of the items to exchange for the brands you’d like.

    • Suzanne H

I asked my neighbor (teacher) why they are so brand specific and she said it’s a new mandate (a few years back). Due to all of the allergies children have, they have to list EVERY ingredient/chemical/compound found in every school supply they have in their classroom. Big brand names like Crayola complied with this mandate and give the teachers a broken down ingredient list. Most smaller companies have not. Thus, it’s a whole lot easier when all of the kids have the same brands, usually big name brands. At least that’s the deal in my locale.

  12. Ashlie

Any idea the shelf life of these? Would they be good for fall 2016 still?

    • Ella

I think they do the one dollar deal for Elmers 6 pack every year because I’ve gotten them the years before at Target. That is why I think they will be on sale for the same price next year.

    • Tatyana

They can get dry, you never know.

  13. Laurie

Thanks Collin, we can always use more glue sticks around here!! 🙂

  14. Mel

Any good deals on composition notebooks on any sites yet?

    • Rachel

Mel I think Office Max/Depot has some for
      .10

    • 5pink1blue

Rite Aid usually does a deal for $0.33 for Mead. Haven’t seen it yet.

  15. Irene

These deals are in store now.

  16. Leslie

If I buy $25 worth of eligible stuff on Target and use a $25 gift card to pay for them, will I still be able to receive the $5 Target gift card?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Leslie, you should be able to “roll” this transaction just like in the store. You would still be eligible for the gift card with eligible purchase when paying with a gift card. Good Luck! 🙂

      • Leslie

        Thank you! 😀

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

          YW!:)
