Cute video. I had a problem with the toilet paper coupons too but the cashier pushed them through after checking with a manager.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Glad you were still able to score the deal!

  3. Jenn M

I love how you are talking about the tp and the song Living La Vida Loca is blaring. Yes, peeps couponers live the crazy life for our cheap tp. 😉 I, too, get all crazy for the cheap toilet paper because it is crappy to pay so much for it.

    • Ben

I love the pun “crappy” lol

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      LOL! 😉

  4. jaci

Omg. What is with the music and how loud they play it at Walgreens! I was laughing when watching the video good to know its not just my store. Thanks for update on good deals at Walgreens!

    • Jenn M

Loud music excites and will get you distracted so you will spend more money. The more our brains have to process while shopping the more our defenses for spending will be lowered. It will cause lingering as well.

      • Nina

Funny you say that, I will stay in a store to finish a song, however I also have left JCPenny because the music was so loud I couldn’t take it an asked an associate if they could control it and she was super rude.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

LOL! I know… I guess Walgreens wants you to rock out while shopping! 😉

  5. Anna

I’m so happy that you finally did a Walgreens video 😉😉😉

Love Walgreens. Did the TP deal and my coupon beeped too! But they pushed it through for me

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Glad to hear they were able to push it through for you.

      • Angela

        Hi Collin,
Wish my trip to Walgreens this week went as smooth as yours! Had the most miserable experience with a “coupon nazi” (aka shift supervisor) and contemplating never shopping at that store again! Here are the deals I tried to do:

        1. The Almay deal for the makeup remover cloths.
        (40% off this week + $1.00 off book coupon + $2.00 MC from coupon.com)
        2. NICE cashews halves and pieces
        (2 for $4.00 + $1.00 off book coupon)
        3. NICE paper towels
        ($4.99 sale + $1.00 off book coupon + $1.00 MC from coupon.com)

First, had a really nice cashier ring everything up then tried to scan all the coupons and they beeped just like you said. Cashier said the nuts I was trying to purchase didn’t match the coupon so the supervisor who just happened to be standing there said I wasn’t buying the right product. So, I calmly showed her the book coupon and the product I was buying (8oz cashews halves and pieces). She let out a big huff and said there is a reason why the system won’t accept it but I’ll adjust the price anyway! Very rude but I nicely said thank you. Second, we get to the paper towel MC. When the supervisor looks at it she says to me” This coupon is a fake because Walgreens doesn’t issue manufacturers coupons”. Again, I calmly explained to her that I got the coupon off coupons.com a legitimate coupon site. Her very rude response to me was ” I have worked for Walgreens for 16 years and they have never issued manufacturers coupons so I’m not taking that one”! I wasn’t about to argue with her and so I gave her the coupon and suggested that she call coupon.com to tell them they were possibly committing fraud if the coupons were not legitimate. Next, we get to the Almay and she told that the makeup remover cloths were not considered face cosmetics even though the makeup remover pads were pictured. I said calmly ok then I would just use the MC. The cashier just continued to smile but the supervisor badgered me throughout the entire checkout process. I knew I was being honest about the deals I was trying to do, but the supervisor treated me like I was a criminal trying to defraud the store. I felt so beat up and defeated when I left that I swore I would never go into that store again. I get that there are people who try to defraud the system and wipe the shelves to sell the stuff at the flea market. However, I was just trying to save a couple of dollars on things I use and be an honest couponer. Sometimes it just doesn’t seem worth the aggravation Collin.

        • Amy

I also have a “coupon nazi” at my Walgreens. A 20-year-old kid who’s made it his personal mission to “crack down on extreme couponers” as one of the cashier told me. He makes up his own rules and it’s not worth arguing. I just don’t shop there anymore.

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh Angela… I am so sorry to hear about your Walgreens shopping trip. 🙁 How frustrating. I have had shopping trips like that in the past and just have to continue focusing on the positive trips (which I know isn’t always easy to do). Can you shoot me an email when you get a chance? collin@hip2save.com Thanks!

        • Suzanne

Sounds like the blonde supervisor at my Wags in Tucson on Cortero.

          • Vanessa

Hi Collin, I saw your update on good deals at Walgreens so I went tonight but got back nothing! The store manager at my Walgreens told me that the coupons in the monthly coupon book are meant for use for monthly sales items only; they are never to be used for weekly sales items or regular priced items, that he explained the register beeped for a reason. That being said, I still would like to thank You for all that You have had done and shared with us your shopping trips!

        • Carol_R

I’d call corporate and make a complaint.

        • Diane

When I had a problem with my local Walgreens I called the district manager. He straightened out the store. I haven’t had a problem since then.

        • Emily

Just fyi the walgreens app has digital coupons you can load to your card and there were several nice brand paper product coupons for tp and paper towels. They ALL SAY MANUFACTURER COUPON! I think some of these workers are either too crabby to deal with people or too dumb to handle the coupon policies. And that goes for many stores not just walgreens.

  9. Michelle

I think the brand “Nice” is owned by Walgreens, so even though it says manufacturers coupon, it’s technically a Walgreens coupon. Totally agree that they should honor it, but it think it’s a typo on their part.

    • Shopper

CVS has done the same for store brands, it’s for reimbursement purposes.

  10. Guest2

I was so hoping you would do a Walgreens video. Thank you!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You bet! 🙂

  11. Sara

I love the Walgreens video! Walgreens is a little more complicated to shop at sometimes, but they have awesome deals. I’ve switched over to Walgreens after CVS is changing their coupon policy and I never get the weekly emails anymore. Also good idea to always check their clearance. I found a Lalaloopsy doll on clearance for $4.89, a My Little Pony doll on clearance for $3.87 and Lalaloopsy minis on clearance for $0.89!! They were regular priced at all the other Walgreens I went to though. Plus some Halloween stuff like costumes, decorations and paper products are already on clearance.

Select Almay cosmetics are also 40% off through Saturday, combined with the $2 off printable coupon and $2 off coupon in the October coupon book makes for very cheap cosmetics. The register beeped though when they scanned the coupons, but they pushed them through. Carmex lotion is also included in the bogo free, two for $5.99; it’s a great price! I just discovered they made lotion last month and love it, I’ve since bought like 10 tubes. I also bought Dial foaming hand soap was on sale for $2, combined with a $1 off coupon from last Sunday’s paper and $1 SavingStar rebate, makes them $1/each.

    • mel

What coupon policy change? The only thing my manager said is that expired store coupons cannot be overridden past 14 days, which doesn’t affect him since he never took them past 14 days anyway. I don’t get emails but I still can walk out paying very little OOP by rolling my ECBs.

      • Sara

The not taking expired CVS coupons or ECB anymore, the CVS’s in my area all took expired ECB’s. Also that with the $/$ coupons you have to spend the required amount after coupons and ECB. Like if you have the $4 off $20 purchase, you have to still hit $20 after coupons and ECB. Before you scanned that coupon first then took off all the coupons and ECB’s. Also people are saying the 2% rule is disappearing, like you could spend $11.79 and still get $3 ECB if it required you to spend $12.
        I read it here:
        https://www.iheartcvs.com/2015/10/purchase-based-coupon-policy-102015.html

        • mel

I did read that. People get so many different answers from CS though. Half the time I think they just say anything and don’t really know how the register works! I’d rather hear or see a change in the policy directly from CVS though. The 98% rule is still in effect, it seems as long as you purchase the amount needed in 1 transaction. I did the Big Brands deal yesterday and my subtotal was $29.97 and the $10 buck printed out. What I have read on another forum is that if you spend OVER the amount needed, and the limit is more than 1, the carry over rounds down or if you split your transaction up, the amount rounds down. That, I totally do not agree with. Hopefully, it might just be a programming error and kinks have to be worked out. My sister received a $5/25 (her first in a very long time, she got shut out last summer) and I helped her shop tonight and the $5 applied to her order. Not sure if it mattered, but she sent it to her card and told the cashier. He scanned all her coupons and then applied the sent coupon. Everything went through just fine and she only paid like $7.xx with tax.

          • Crystal

I read on Southern Savers that the policy change starts later this month and it will be at all stores. CVS has been disappointing lately for me anyway so just 1 more reason to shop other stores. I wish we had a Target. I see all the deals that Collin post and the video’s. They are very coupon friendly.

  12. Jane

Didn’t you have the Crest rinse FREE after Register Rewards at your store this week too? I ended up going back and doing that deal twice. Just wondered why you didn’t show that deal as well. Loved your new Wag’s video!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Hi Jane,

I only picked just a handful of deals to highlight, and I think the Crest Rinse was sold out at my store. Glad to hear that you’ve been able to take advantage of this deal! 🙂

  13. Ashley

How do the book coupons work? i’m just starting to now shop at Walgreens and was wondering if you can use those coupons more than once? Like if I wanted to buy 2 packs of toliet paper..etc..? Can someone explain to me? Thanks!

    • L

If you buy two TP and use the booklet coupon it will come off of both. There should be a limit on each coupon with how many it will apply to.

      • Ashley

It says limit one coupon per customer per offer. so does that mean I can only get 1 pack?

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

If you purchase two packages of toilet paper – the cashier only needs to scan the barcode on the store coupon once and $1 will come off each package purchased for a total of $2 off two packages. Hope that helps!

          • Ashley

            thank you it does! 🙂

  14. Steph

I can not find the Proganix Shampoo coupon, am I missing something?

  15. sandy

Wags has the Colgate sale this week, 2 for $5 with a 3 RR. Well, my Wags had Colgate Total Whitening gel toothpaste, 4.2 ounce tubes ringing up at .87 So, I bought 3, used 2 $1 MFQ, paid .76 and got back $3RR.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      WOW! That’s awesome! 🙂

  16. Jenny

    Did you get braces?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      I’ve had them since last December… 😉

  17. Bre

What zip code did you use on coupons.com for the Zantac?

  18. Jen N

I swung through walgreens on my way home after seeing your video. They also had to push through the mfg coupon on the toilet paper. I picked up two packs of toilet paper, 6pk of viva, two pack of gummy candies, 4 cans of pure silk shave cream, a box of kleenex, and a pack of orbit gum. After all my coupons, ibotta, and rewards points I paid 13. 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awesome! 🙂

  19. Tara

Picked up 2 toilet paper, 2 olive oil, 2 Contact solutions, and 1 foil only paid 13 ans change….awesome deals this week! 🙂

  20. Erin

Smooth movers – shop your way sweeps = $1

  21. Imran

I was able to score 2 haribo for $0.47 on clearance and I was able to get the 2nd one for free 🙂

  22. kelly

My Walgreens does military 20% on Wednesday. Anyone know how this effects coupons?

  23. Melissa Lohrey

I too had issues with Nice coupon and book coupon got the beep but manager pushed it thru.

  24. Laura

Here’s my tip for coupon policys:

I copy the URL and iMessage it to myself. That way it’s always in my phone in case a coupon nazi wants to argue about the policy.

  25. tracyr724

My store wouldn’t take the printable coupon for the nice products. Even after checking with the manager. But I needed paper products and it’s still a good deal even with just the store coupon! So I got 4! And I got 4 aluminium foils but after I left I realized she only scanned 2. Guess it kinda balances out for not taking my printables. Thanks for the deals Collin!

  26. Valerie H

Thanks for this video Collin! I had all but given up shopping at Walgreens so I don’t look at the deal list for them anymore. But I really needed tp so I gave it a shot. The coupons beeped but they pushed them right through without even saying anything to me. It was a great experience (and way different from past experiences), so I will be back! I love the Target videos and I’m loving these additional ones too!

  27. Tina

Just wondering if you use the digital coupons on your Walgreens card if your allowed to get 2 toilet papers? It says one per customer? And has anyone done this deal that way and how did it work for them?Printer is acting up and wont print, plan b! Lol

  28. vchavez132

Anyone do the Almay make-up remover deal? The price is 3.89 each, and I have a 2/1 IP and 2/1 coupon from the Walgreen’s coupon booklet and the coupons beeped. I included a filler item too. HELP PLEASE TIA!

  29. Jeanett

    Found a $0.25 coupon on Carmex’s website.

  30. Christine

My Walgreens didn’t have the toilet paper on sale, but I did score better than free mouthwash! Bought 2 Crest mouthwash on sale 2 for $6, used 2 -$2/1 coupons paid $2.57 and got $3 in register rewards! Also got Poise pads for my mom for .99 cents! They are on sale for $5.99, use the $2 coupon in the October savings book and a $2 coupon online from the Poise website.

  31. shannon

I love watching how excited you get and the little dances you do!!! Makes the videos so fun and worth watching!
