I don’t have this one. I do have a Hoover floormate deluxe and I love it for cleaning my floors! You fill the water tank and add the cleaning solution. You use it like a vacuum cleaner on your hard floors. It sucks up and dumps the dirty waiter into the opposite tank. You end up tossing that down the drain. It takes a bit longer to “mop” your floors vs using a mop and bucket. However, there’s no comparison on how well it cleans vs a mop. I can clean my floors with mine and wipe the floor after with a paper towel and there is no dirt. If I mop with a bucket I always have residue.
I have this one and I’ve also had a more expensive hann steam mop. They both work the same but I love how this one can use cleaning solution as well as just plain steam. It’s easy to maneuver. I recommend it def at this price.
Oh and I also LOVE how long the cord is on this one. It also heats up very fast.
I have this exact model and I LOVE it. This is a GREAT price! I use mine on my kitchen and bathroom floors only, not on my laminate flooring. It gets along base boards really well, but it does have a hard time getting into tight corners. It heats up quickly and has a nice long cord. The only real con in my opinion is it takes a really long time for my floors to dry when I’m finished because the steam leaves them very wet, but that is not a big enough con for me not to recommend it. I highly recommend it. I would give it 4 3/4 stars 🙂
If you don’t have a steam mop, you need one! I don’t use it on my hardwood because I try not to get them too wet with water and just use a spray mop with hardwood floor cleaner in the tank.
For my kitchen and bathrooms, I LOVE my steam mop. I have the cheapest shark model (it came free with my vacuum) but I love it.
I don’t have the mop from this post, but I 4Ella, I can give you a review of the one I do have. The way mine works, is you fill the container with water like you would your clothes iron. Then, you plug it in and it warms up. A few seconds later, you’re able to mop the floor. I put normal floor cleaner, like Mr. Clean, in a spray bottle and spray it on my floor as I go around with the spray mop but I mostly do that because I like the smell of floor cleaners.
But you mop like you would with a normal mop. With mine, you pump it to keep the steam going constantly but the pump motion is naturally activated when you push it forward and pull it back.
When you’re done, your floors are very clean and you throw the microfiber mop head in the laundry. There’s no bucket of dirty water to deal with and it cleans the floor 100 times better than a swiffer or swiffer wet jet.

Then you will LOVE a steam mop. I needed a bucket for something the other day and I couldn’t find one. I was like – “where is the mop bucket?” Then, I realized, I don’t even have a real mop anymore. It cleans so well and they aren’t much heavier than a normal mop. At least mine isn’t.

I have one and used it only a 3 times, but so far I like it a lot. You fill a small tank up with cleaning solution and water. It comes with 2 reusable/washable cleaning pads that velcro on the bottom. (You can wash them in a washing machine, or by hand I guess if you prefer).
You plug it in and within minutes its hot and ready to go. It steam cleans your floor. It says you can use it on a carpet. But I would never use it on a carpet personally. It also comes with a hard plastic piece that you sit it in on the floor and the mop sits in it when not in use. The mop locks into a stand up position. You just have to be careful not to tip it over.

Does any cleaning solution come in the box with the mop or should I buy some with the mop?
Yes, a small bottle of cleaning solution comes with it, but only enough to fill the tank up one time.

How well does this work on solid hardwood floors?
I don’t use mine on my hardwood floors because I don’t want to force water into them with the steam. I just use a simple spray mop with hardwood floor cleaner instead of water.
I love this mop!!! I use vinegar and water – and it makes cleaning soooo easy!
I love the idea of using vinegar. What ratio do you use to water?

Would steam mops work on linoleum?
It works on great linoleum! Add some vinegar with water and you will be amazed how shiny your floors are.
We have stained concrete floors and usually use a special solution to clean them that is very mild. Could I add this solution to the mop instead of the sanitizing solution that comes with it?

I recently purchased our home. It’s all hardwood and with 2 little ones it’s difficult to keep clean. I’m interested in hearing how or what you guys use to clean hardwood? This machine sounds awesome but I see some of you do not use it on hardwood.
I bought one last year about this time. I use it on my bathroom and laundry room floors.
Also on Duraceramic in front entry way. I love the steam part!

I have had this mop for 18 months. I highly recommend. I have never used the solution tank. I use 1/3 vinegar with 2/3 distilled water (local water has a lot of minerals). The floors are very shiny. Hands and knees mopping is still better for overall cleanliness but I purchased the steam mop so I can mop more often. I have also used the carpet glider after the stomach virus. Purpose was not necessarily to clean but to disinfect. Vinegar is great disinfectant. A steam mop is a mothers best friend!
