Can you watch flash plug in on this?
I believe you have to download a special browser for it to watch flash. I think there are directions on YouTube.

I just ordered the amazon fire stick for our tv. We stream prime movies from our blu-ray player but this will be nice to put on another tv that doesn’t have a blu-ray player attached to it. The two models are $15 off during this sale. I got the one with voice activated remote, I figured it would be nice to just say “Hunger Games” and have it pull that up instead of having to navigate through the menus if we already know what we want. The two models are $25 and $35. Only difference between the two is a voice activated remote.

I am looking to purchase this for my 5 year old that likes to play her apps on my phone. My husband seems to think that there is some kind of catch with this device – like Amazon makes you sign up for a subscription to this in order for it to work. Does anyone know if there are additional subscriptions to Amazon that you need to purchase in order to use this tablet?

My mom has one. She loves it. No subscription needed. But you are connected to Amazon. Get a good case to protect it from drops.
I purchased 2 already for my 5 and 7 year olds and there are no strings attached. I’ve been downloading apps, books etc…all you need is wifi. I decided to get my 12 year old one too. Can’t beat $35!

You just need a regular account. There are tons of free apps you can get. The lock screen does have ads unless you pay an extra $15 to get rid of them. The movies and music only work if you have prime or buy them outright. You can often borrow digital books through your local library. Once things are downloaded many items don’t require wifi. Also, this version of kindle has a kid setting where it locks them out of purchasing things and only let’s them see what you want them to see. I have this model and love it. I am buying one for each of my kids.
He’s probably referring to FreeTime. With that, the child has access to hundreds of books, games, and videos. However it’s not required.
Dear Allison, this device is the best thing for kids since sliced bread! My 5 yr old son loves his kindle and my 8 yr old daughter as well cannot live without this thing! ( that is why I purchased 2 today) time for a upgrade for a great price! My kids love watching their Netflix and YouTube on this device and as long as you have a Amazon account, you have access to endless FREE educational apps for your little one to use! Def a great buy!

Has any one bought the kids version? What’s the difference between the regular for 34.99 and kids 84.99?
I bought kids version last year for my 7 year old and it was too limited! She had no storage could only have like 2 games on the device and it was full! Very unhappy so I’m getting this one now for her and selling her kids version
The newest kids version unlike previous versions now comes with expandable storage via Micro SD card. The difference between the 34.99 version and the 84.99 is that it comes with the kid proof case,1 year free time unlimited, and 2 year worry free guarantee. Keep in mind that both the 34.99 and 84.99 are the 8gb versions and more than likely will require a micro sd card for additional storage. Keep an eye out the micro sd cards do tend to go on sale about 9.99 for the 32gb.

If you go to the Amazon Web and look at the pics for this item it shows the wall charger. This version came out this year and on their website they have cases for it. Hope this helps.

Yes, this is the lowest price for the Fire Tablet HOWEVER, I just scored one of these in a “bundle” from Staples: Tablet + cover + 32G disc for $43 and change. The bundle is $54.99 but I also purchased some ink cartridges to bring my total to over $100. SO for both the Fire Bundle and ink = $95 and change for store pick up.
Fire Tablet = $43.72 (was $79.99 – $25 product promotion – $11.27 via Visa Checkout)
