What is the Curio? I have the Silhouette Portrait and live it for cutting small things. So much easier to use than my Cricut.
It’s a smaller version of the cameo, but does a few different things. The main reason I want it because it has a thicker clearance for thicker materials. Plus, it has dual cartridges so I can write and cut in one pass! It didn’t get super good reviews on Amazon, but I still think ill try it. I’ve read it’s really meant to be a supplement to the cameo. My cameo is amazing!
I missed the Amazon deal from yesterday. Now I see this one and I’m still thinking about it. I’ve been doing paper crafting for a while now but by hand and of course it takes forever. I’m sure having a Silhouette will change that. Is it easy to use? Do I need other softwares like Adobe or Photoshop to design? Any input will be much appreciated. I’m looking to buy “The Greatest CAMEO Bundle Ever” for $229.99. I’m a bit intimidated with all of what it brings and wonder if it will be easy to figure out what to do with all of it! I won’t know where to begin! Any helpful websites or groups for starters?
Incredibly easy!!! No additional software needed except for the silhouette studio that comes with it. I received mine as a Christmas gift 4 years ago. My husband said I’d never use it, but boy was he wrong! I’ve made enough money selling things to pay for it at least 5 times! Not to mention all that I’ve saved in gifting! You can use heat transfer vinyl to monogram just about anything (aprons, shirts, bags!). I’ve made canvases, wooden signs using vinyl, sight word cards for my kiddo, gift tags, treat bags, cards…I could go on and on and on!!! I’ve even used it to cut Wilton sugar sheets to decorate cakes!!!

I have the silhouette portrait and I love it, just enough features to get me by without spending a lot of money. I got mine last Xmas for $74.99 it came with lots of extras. I love it.

How would you say this cameo $199 deal stacks up against the Amazon one that’s expired? It went OOS as my husband was checking out lol. They’re offering different items in the bundle so it’s hard for me to compare without ever using one before.
From what I can tell, the cameo bundle that the website has some minor stuff missing. The amazon bundle comes with metallic pens, a rhinestone /scraper/ hook tool, an extra cutting blade, and another cutting mat. Amazon was on sale for $180 vs $200 for this one. Amazon one is a lot more worth it however, the additional items doesn’t cost that much more. The pens are like 6 bucks, the tool is like 7 or so, the blade is 10, the mat is 10 bucks (all from amazon).
so as a beginner interested in creating vinyl sayings what would you rcommend?
