My youngest has a fever issue and literally always has a fever. I bought one of these the last time posted and I have to say its so convenient!! It’s important that we always get accurate readings so I compared it to our usual thermometer and it was very close if not always the same reading! So much easier to take her temp multiple times a day!

    • Andrea

My son also has a fever syndrome called pfapa. We currently have an ear thermometer. Would you say this one is easier or better?

      • Buckeye momma

I have this thermometer and it’s not very accurate. It’s accurate enough when used exactly as the directions indicate in the correct motion. Even then, it will tell you the child has a fever but the readings are varied even when taken seconds apart. Depending on your motions the temp can vary 1-3 degrees.

        • Andrea

Ok thank you. I can’t chance that.

          • Gina

            I agree with buckeye momma

            • Ang

I agree too. I have this and hate it. I wish I could did a good consistent thermometer.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

OH cool! Thanks so much for your feedback!

Has anyone tested/checked this out? I would really like to do it but when I printed out the Rebates they each have the statement “Cannot be combined with any other offer”. I am really wondering if you can do both of the $10 rebates on the same temporal scanner.

    • Sara

I’m wondering the same thing! I saw that note also

    • Tera B

It does say at the top of the graphic, “a special $20 rebate offer,” and there is a + sign in between the two, so… I would think you could use them together.

Reading the fine print, one says to send in the receipt for the thermometer you *bought* for a baby shower gift, and the other says to send in the receipt for the thermometer you *received* for a baby shower gift. So one thermometer *could* qualify for both rebates, one for the person who buys it, and they other for the one who receives it. Just not sure if the same person can claim both.

Even if you can only use one, it’s still a great deal on these.

    • Diane

I did the rebate when it was offered in the past and just had one rebate sent to my mom’s and the other one mailed to my house. They both came.

    • Rosie

I was wondering the same thing. IT says to mail the barcode, so I’m guessing we would have to send both rebates in the same letter? I think we would only get back $10.

      • cbeths

One needs the barcode the other needs the receipt, no need to mail together.

    • Kari

I did this the last time it was offered. I mailed each rebate in separately and today I received one $20 rebate check in the mail.

  3. Sk

Thank you so much! Just ordered one. Hopefully I won’t forget to fill out the rebate form! (Life has been crazy with a newborn and 2 yo)haha 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Aww, congrats! And you’re welcome! 😉

  4. Kristina

I did this last time and just got both rebates back yesterday! Now if I could figure out how to use the thermometer. Every reading seems to vary drastically. :/

    • Sandy

So you have to cut upc out? Tacky gift if the upc is cut off :Z

  5. Dawn

It states on the printed rebate, Limit one rebate per item.

  6. emma

Its been a while now i did this offer but never got the rebates. Surely a tempting deal but i’m leary of doing these rebate promotions. Also staying away from Metropcs free phone offer with rebates as never got rebates back for 2 phones. Hope this helps someone.

  7. Laura

I bought this last time the deal was posted, and I’m very happy with the thermometer. But I haven’t received my rebate yet. Anyone else still waiting? Or have you all received yours already?

  8. Jessica

Yeah, I just ordered it and then went to the rebates and saw that it DOES say not to be combined with any other offer, Collin have you guys contacted the company on this one? It’d be a sweet deal and thanks for all your hard work!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hi Jessica! You can use both rebates. Hope that helps! 🙂

  9. Barbara

If you go to the Costco, it is cheaper. I bought one yesterday in the store for $22.69 (Oregon).

    • Leah

My Costco in Hawaii had it for the online price when I bought it yesterday

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Great find Barbara!

  10. CrescentCityCurly

Does anyone know if this can be used on adults (my elderly Mom)?

    • Lo

yes! I use it on everyone in my house

  11. Shana

I did this back in May and I got both rebates!

    • Jeannette

Did you use your name and address on both rebates?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Yay! Thanks for sharing!

  12. Jen

I have one of these, and just wanted to share my experience. In using this thermometer, every time I call the Drs office for one of my kids having read a fever, they will ask what type of thermometer was used. Upon hearing my response that it’s a temporal thermometer, they would kind of give me a “OH.” every time. Finally came to the conclusion that they don’t consider them to be very accurate, at least at my Drs office. I know everyone has different experiences, but you may want to do a little research if considering whether or not to get this. 😀

    • Kathleen

That’s so strange, every doctor I’ve gone to in the last few years only uses the temporal ones in their offices

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for sharing your experience on this Jen!

  13. Ashley

I received this as a gift at my baby shower and it was my most useful gift! Still using it 6 years later!

    • Sarah

Agreed! Mine is 7 years old and it’s so quick and accurate. I’ve used it on everyone. Even just used in the air it records our house temperature accurately! Worth it in my opinion, even if only one rebate works!

  14. mochi

Just bought one this weekend at Target, $29.99.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Cool!

  15. Carol_R

Thanks Collin, I just purchased one. I was actually going to purchase a new thermometer this weekend so this is great.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome!

  16. Nikki

Wish I loved this thermometer, but I don’t. Put it on my baby registry last year thinking it was the coolest thing. Have older kids too & didn’t have this type 10+ years ago. I get a different reading every time I use it on any of us. And my baby freaks out when I try to put it on his head!

  17. Leah

Thank you! I just bought this yesterday

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      YW!

  18. Jeannette

what form of payment do they send the rebates back in?

    • Kristina

      Check.

  19. Dolly

I’m laughing so hard right now!!! I just came back from Costco and I purchased this!!! They are $21.45 in store! Can’t beat $1.45 !THANK YOU!!!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome!

  20. danielle

I am confused. How do you do two rebates on one product. When you have to send in the upc code and receipt with it?

    • Kristina

When I did it, one rebate needed the receipt and the other rebate needed the UPC. It worked fine. I got them both back yesterday.

      • danielle

your right. One ask for the upc and one ask for the receipt thanks.

  21. Sergio

Like many others have said. We get different readings every time. We bought it at costco and then returned it. Could never get an accurate reading that would match the oral thermometer

  22. KatieS

Did you put your name and address on each rebate and have it work?

  23. Robyn

Like previous posts…works well if you know how to work it!!! Practice makes perfect 😉

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Sweet!

  24. Laura

We have a similar thermometer and are very happy with it. There is definitely a trick to getting accurate/consistent readings – what I’ve found is that the ring of metal has to be kept flat in contact with the skin with some pressure while dragging it mid-speed (not too fast, not too slow) from the middle of the forehead to the soft spot in the side of the head. I use my thumb on the button, not my pointer finger, and if I’m doing the reading on someone else, I stand behind them so I can keep more consistent pressure while dragging it. Doing this gives pretty consistent results. I will double check a reading if I didn’t keep it tight against the head, but it’s fast and easy and my kids don’t mind it at all. Hope these suggestions help.

  25. Su

I just bought the thermometer at Costco and now I went to print the rebates and I’m getting 404 website not found 🙁

    • kim

  26. Tabu

Me too!! Bought it from costco n now can get rebate forms. Can anyone share their rebate forms n we can print it .,. Pls

  27. Tara

Yep, I’m having the same trouble with getting the rebate page to load. Any help would be appreciated!

  28. KatieS

This was asked before, but I never saw the answer. Did you all put the same names on the rebate forms? Did you mail together or separately?

    • Tara

      Katie,

Were you able to print the rebate forms?

  29. kim

give me ur email and i will send rebate form.

  30. Caro

Does anyone have copies of the rebate form they could send me? I can’t find mine and it won’t let me print it now! Thank you.

  31. stacy

Ugh! I just got a notice from my bank for a returned rebate check from Exergen! Not only did they take the $10 out of my account, they also charged me a $5 fee! Of course I tried calling Exergen and the customer service went straight to voicemail. Beware! It’s funny I got both rebate checks at different times and one of them went through with no problems- unless that one is going to be returned to me as well. Anyone else have this happen?
