I am re-posting this *HOT* deal! I actually posted a bit ago… but the post got really confusing as it appeared to only work for Android users, HOWEVER it seems you can actually score this credit from other devices too! 🙂
Through December 24th, hurry on over to Amazon and opt to purchase one of the FREE games found here to score a FREE $5 Amazon credit! What’s SO sweet about this promo is that it works without actually downloading the game! Just go here and opt to download one of the qualifying free apps. If you’re NOT an Android user, it will give you a warning that it may not be compatible with your device, but continue regardless (as you’re not required to actually download the app to get your $5 credit). After doing so, add anything to your cart and when you go to checkout, your $5 credit will automatically be applied. SO awesome! 🙂

Both my son (4) and daughter (6) wanted these (I really wish that they had boy characters!) I figured I would get 2 sets so their are 2 figures for them to play together.
Some toys, like this, i wish they had boys and girls, and also imaginext.. I wish they had girl imaginext characters-I think we only have Wonder woman. Why cant they make more toys that involve creative play for both gender children to play together rather than make them so gender specific? End Rant 🙂
I spent hours trying to figure this out, not just for me but for everyone that can’t seem to get this to work. Nothing I do will work. 2 computers, Ipad, different browsers, cut and paste. hum
Sue, I got it to work on my mac but I have a kindle and it worked for me. I then tried to get it for my daughter and nothing I did would get it to work. Perhaps the “bots” are hard at work and are no longer allowing non-android purchases.

It’s not only for Prime members because I was able to get it and without downloading the app too, and I’m not a Prime member. It seems like Amazon changed some of the details of the deal after Hip2save posted it.
This worked like a charm on my android phone. Downloaded the free app then went to my computer and ordered some books. The $5 underground promo was there automatically and you can combine that with the 25% off one book code Collin posted earler 25OFFBOOK for an even better deal. I used points from my credit card and only paid .68 cents for 4 books!!!

I could NOT do this with my son’s student Prime account. Only option was “get started now’.
Switched to my own account, which is not Prime at the moment, and it worked!
On this account, I also saw a notation that the app was compatible with my Android device #3… that might be my phone Kindle.

just worked for me (prime member ordering from a mac). make sure whatever you’re trying to purchase with the $5 credit is shipping from amazon. the first item i put in my cart wasn’t and it wouldn’t apply.
I used my iPhone and “downloaded” it to my kindle. I got the ‘not compatible’ message but hit continue anyway. I received an email a couple of minutes later saying I received a $5 credit. I hope those who had difficulty are able to get it now.

For anyone else like me who was struggling to find their own referral code, here is where it is!
You have to go in the Amazon SHOPPING app (it’s the one with the blue shopping cart logo, not just the Amazon app store with orange logo, that was where I was going wrong), click on upper left for the menu and select account, and then scroll down and click on invite friends. That is where the promotion is detailed for $5 for you and $5 for friend and it give you your own referral code there.
Just checked it out…it says “Give your friends $5 off their purchase on the Amazon App. When your friends make their first purchase, you will also get a $5 coupon.
FYI……Sooo you don’t get the $5 until they make a purchase. 🙂

Just curious about the limit of 1. My husband and I each have an android phone but we share an amazon account so wasn’t sure how that works.

I have to confess….this sounded too good to be true. But I’m on a computer (not a mobile device). I clicked on the link above (the one that says “Just go here…”). If the game matters, I picked the Flow Free game, the one with the different colored lines on the icon. (Partly because it said in app purchases were free, so if I accidentally have something happen with the app…it’s still free.) It gave me the “Not Compatible” warning, but I continued. Then, added something to my cart and the $5 showed up. (Full disclosure: Although I was not on my Kindle, I do have one linked to my account, which may have helped.)

I want to thank the person who commented that it worked on their DH’s account but not theirs. That was the same for me. I would not have even tried DH’s account if it weren’t for that comment. I used the same phone and did the exact same thing. My account never had the option to purchase the app (still doesn’t have that option), but for DH’s account, it was right there in the same spot where mine says, “get started now.”

You should’ve gotten an email confirming that it was added to your account. There’s no way to see it online unless you put items in your cart (the credit automatically applies at checkout). Otherwise you can call or chat with customer service to see what credits you have. Good luck!
To me it looks like you have to have an android device registered with them, or download the ‘underground’ in order for it to work. It worked for me and my husband who have separate Amazon accounts. It did not work for my sister who has no device attached to hers. She is going to try to download underground and see.

Everyone keeps saying you will receive two emails. One to confirm the purchase and another to confirm the $5 credit. I received one that confirms the game purchase and the other just gives me the $1 mp3 download. I tried checking out an item and there is no $5 credit. Are some of us just unlucky? Am I doing something wrong?
