  3. Christie

Does anyone know offhand how much hot cocoa 2 packets are? I was looking at the canisters since I would be making alot of these… TIA

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

There’s about 2 tablespoons per packet in Swiss Miss. They are 6 packets for $1 at dollar tree. Hope this helps. 😀

    • Erica

We used the canisters. They were cheaper

    • Cris

You can buy, well last year, you could buy a canister of Swiss miss for $10

Thanks for the reminder! I tried to make these a few years ago, but couldn’t find any piping bags without a logo on them. Might be time to try again 🙂

    • Erica

I got our bags on amazon.

    • Julie

I ordered these bags- and they do have the Wilton logo on them. I will make the logo side the back of the bag.

    • MARILEE G. LONSBERG

Search for cocoa recipes online. I know you can make it with cocoa powder, inst. milk & sugar but don’t know the measurements.

This is such a cute and great idea. Thanks so much Lina! This is perfect for my daughter to make for her aunts and grandmas. This will definitely make their day and I get to do a little craft with my daughter. It’s so perfect!!! Thank you very much for all your creative ideas and the time you take to share with the rest of us!!

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

You’re welcome and thanks for the sweet comment! 😀

  11. Erica

My kids made the reindeers for the craft fair this past month. They made 75 of them and sold out :). Wish I could post a picture. With ours the nose was down at the bottom of the bag.

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

      Wow how fun!

  12. M

Thank you for this. I am making these for my 4th grade students (all 103 of them) and some for my son’s class. I was hoping you could have the tags read for one serving not two so I only have to use one package of cocoa mix and use milk not milk or water? I can’t budget 206 packets of cocoa mix as the directions say .Can you tell me how to adjust the writing directions on the cute tag? thank you!

  13. Taylor S

I love these so cute definitely going to make for my friends

  14. mary k

Just made these with my 2 and 4 year olds as Christmas gifts for extended family members at our holiday parties. They loved measuring and sampling all the ingredients. Too much fun! Thank you for the great idea. We always make gifts to exchange and this is perfect for little hands.

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

      You’re welcome! How fun, enjoy.

  15. Chelsea

Would the hot glue not melt the bag? Or would it be better to use super glue?

  16. Lori Rojcewicz

How far ahead of time could I make these for Christmas? I’m thinking the marshmallows are going to dry out fairly quick?

  17. Isakira

Can I just ask… how do you then use them to make the drink? Do you have to cut a hole in the bottom of the reindeers? Surely otherwise you have to remove the other ingredients from the bag.
    They are cute though.

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Sure I’d just do that 👍

  18. Marie Caruso

This is such an awesome idea…looking forward to making them for my niece’s classmates this year.

  19. MaryAnn

Does this make one cup of hot chocolate or two? And do the chocolate chips have to melt? They look so fun to make with my kids’ help!!

  20. Fran

    Hi there,
What can I use if I have trouble getting hold of piping bags?

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hmm that would be the best option I have seen. Don’t forget to check any craft stores in the cake supplies too or online.
I’m guessing a clear freezer bag cut into a triangle could work?

    • Rose

Michael’s sales triangle treat bags 25 for $1.79. I just bought some today.

      • sharon brotz

i used these too instead of piping bags because they were crystal clear and i thought would look better. the only problem is the crushed candy canes kept slitting the bags and break open

  21. rachael blomiley

I made these with my 7th graders at school – they were a HUGE hit!! Thanks sooooooooo much for the cute idea!!!

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

OHHH YAY!! So fun! Thanks for telling us! Merry Christmas 🎄

  22. Joyce

Can you please tell me how far in advance can I make these for Christmas?
