YAY, I have been eyeing the Aster set forever!!!

    • lancy

is this set heavy? i love the aster design too but i am still choosing between a corelle set or this one

      • jenn

They have pieces in my walmart and seem pretty sturdy/solid but i cant remember how heavy. I never bought there because they were always chipped or broke so i stopped looking.

      • Jessica

I would go with Corelle. These are Stoneware and I find all Stoneware dishes break and chip very easily.

      • Lindsay

If you have children go with Corelle. I had Pfaltzgraff for the first 10 years of my marriage then we started having children and the Pfaltzgraff dinnerware did not last long. We’ve had Corelle now for 5 yrs and they are invincible

        • Lindsay

We have the break and chip Resistant Corelle dishes. Not all Corelle dishes are break and chip resistant so check before purchasing

        • Just Me

I just dropped a dish from the stove to wood floor and it shattered into a million pieces. I was so surprised since it was Corelle. Guess the resistance only goes so far lol

          • dalymom08

I have stoneware and my daughter is in charge of dishes. You can imagine how chipped they are. Lol. I though about getting the Correll but came across a site where someone said theirs exploded. That got me curious and turns out several people have had them just explode. Some have posted photos. It’s amazing how many pieces that turn into. Some said they thought it’s where they dropped or banged one then later added hot food or banged it again and that’s why it exploded. Like it was slightly damaged and they didn’t know. It was interesting.

            • jenn

They say dishwasher safe, do you put them in? Just wondering how they hold up that way.

      • Lauri

I have one of the newer square Corelle sets and LOVE it. Not heavy, does not chip easily and makes a short stack in the cupboard so takes LOTS less room to store than stoneware. Not as heavy in the dishwasher either.

    • Lisa

Is the Aster set gone or out of stock? I haven’t been able to find it.

  4. Workaholic

  9. Tammie

Bought the white Sparta for 8 for 59.00 at Belk over Thanksgiving. So this is an even better deal. Had been needing dishes.

    • Cathy

How do you like the quality of the Sparta dishes?

      • riss

I want to know, too. It only has 1 or 2 star at Macy’s. They said that coffee and tea stained the cups, and the back of the plate is rough.

      • Tammie

Sparta: I like them. I was still using the solid white Corelle from the ’80’s. Sparta is heavier than the Corelle I was using, but not too heavy. The 6″ (diameter) bowl is about 3″ deep. Only con is that the bowls take up more room in the dishwasher as they are deeper than the Corelle bowls. I have not noticed coffee stains in the cups. The back of the plates have a raised rim in the center, if that makes sense; don’t know if I’d say it is rough, but not smooth like the front of the plate. I didn’t know until today, that the pattern was discontinued a few years ago. When I bought the set at Belk, there was a promo where you could get a serving bowl for $5.00. I desperately needed dishes and had put it off; decided I wanted to just go with white. Has been nice to not run out of plates! My set did not come with the fruit bowl. I have been thinking today about buying 1-2 more sets of these, especially since I just saw that it includes the fruit bowl.

Thank you!!! We’ve been looking for a good deal for the past month! My last set, which came from a garage sale, is on its last leg. We’re down to 1 bowl, most of the plates have a cracked glaze, and the mugs are all permanently coffee stained. We’ve been looking for a large white set and this was perfect. Thank you Collin!
