I went yesterday. I purchased two of the 2.00 boxes. One had 100.00 at least in it. The other around 60.00

    • Wassup

      Where are you located?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    • Valarie

Where are you located in upstate NY?

  4. Erin

Wow. I’m jealous of those signs. Our craft stores were nearly wiped out of holiday stuff the week before Christmas!

  5. Jsturner1

I called out Michaels after seeing this. They had them. One of them had 170$ in it! It’s the only one I’ve looked through. Thanks for the heads up!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Sweet! You are so welcome!

  6. Katiria

Are any of the South Florida stores participating in this $2 sale?

  7. Molly S

The Gurnee, IL store has them, near the checkouts (I was just in there last night). In plastic bags so if you’re picky, it’s easy to figure out what’s in them.

  8. Geeth

I called up my store it has $2 grab bags , is it worth visiting ? What’s the Christmas stuff they would be selling ?

    • Tia

My store had a lot of decorations like pictured above. They weren’t $2 when I was there on Sat though. I also saw wreaths.

  9. laureen

I was just about to send in an email about this. I went to michael’s to get some ribbon for a diaper cake, and lo and behold there was so much $2 grab bags and signs! I grabbed only 2 signs and no ribbon. I only carried cash so i wouldn’t over spend. I’m heading to work so hopefully tomorrow there is more!

  10. Nancy

I would love to know what state you are each in. I am in Minnesota and might have to take the long way home tonight.

  11. Sara

Can you tell me where in upstate NY these were found.

    • terri

Hi! I am in Albany, NY ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Sarah

Can you use the 20% off coupon with the grab bags/boxes?

    • Kate

seriously? it’s only $2. talk about cheap and obviously you cannot. they are ALREADY discounted. smh.

      • Sarah

Wow your rude! Yes I am cheap! So what? Does it affect you in anyway? No! Have a nice day rude bitter lady and stay off couponing sites cause most people who coupon are cheap!

        Thanks ladies for your response

        • JaxJay

Good response.. lol. I have been affected by the cheapness, but in a good way. As a big burly bearded dude I didn’t even know what a coupon was until my mid 30’s,and then still didn’t use them or forget it was in my pocket to use. With 4 kids I have learned a lot from you guys! Every cent counts and really, 20% on $2 is only 40 cents so why be rude about it? Save dat cabbage!!๐Ÿ˜‰

        • Shannon

The bags had tags that said no further discounts could be applied. I hope this helps.

      • Jennifer

Kate, I hope you feel better soon.

      • Elaine

Seriously SMH that you felt the need to say that. She was asking a legitimate question that can simply be answered by another Hip2saver without being called names. Isn’t this forum available to maximize savings in general? SO before you start typing you should ask yourself these questions – 1) Is it kind? 2) Is it true? 3) Is it necessary?

    • Dana

    • laureen

The tag on the grab bags said no addition coupons allowed. So i think that’s a no.

    • Sarah

Tried using it and the cashier said not on grab bags.

    • Chris

The 20% off did not apply to mine. I wish it did…. 40 cents can add up especially if you are buying 5 or 10. That’s a cheap dinner or Frostys for the family.

  13. Melissa

Hillside IL had about 20 when I left- can’t wait to get home and check mine out

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

  14. Chernan

Is there a limit on this grab bags/boxes? Thank you in advance!

    • Dana

  15. Heather

I bought some today in Indiana ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Jennifer

      where in Indiana?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Glad you could grab them Heather!

    • Claire

      I’m also curious. Please

  16. Linda

I just called micheals at my location and they are not doing the grab bags. ๐Ÿ™
I feel like my micheals never does these.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Oh bummer ๐Ÿ™

  17. Khin

I got 3 boxes and they are all full of Xmas tree deco items.. Not ornaments,

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks for sharing!

  18. Jennifer

    no boxes here just bags

  19. m

Shake the boxes- if they feel similar they probably are, lol. I got 3 boxes with pretty much the same thing (gift tags- not christmas), initial note cards, initial ornaments, and these tiny chalk board letters – plus a few things mixed in. The one box that felt different was full of christmas colored thick nice ribbon.

  20. Su

In Raleigh only bags which includes christmas 3 led plaque kit … I didn’t got any i was more interested in ribbons and tapes for crafts

    • Chris

That’s why I got 10 of them. Lol. We make family gift basket with food for Christmas gift so this will be a nice add in.

  21. Sarah L

So grateful to you!! I called and our store had them. Stopped kyself at 15 bads. No coupon allowed, but no biggie. I got lots of note cards, scrapbooking th ings, childrens art sets, metal ornaments, ugly sweater diy kit, a basket, crochet books, tons of color in christms signs, paintable ornaments, not tebooks, paper straws, cupcake stuff, giftideas tags and bakers twine. Id love to go back, but wont let myself! Also got lots of the greenery garlands. So excited, had no idea til today they did this!!

  22. Carrie

There were some in the NYC metro tonight. I scored the last few bags and two people asked me about them while I was shopping. There were Christmas crafts, cards, stamps and decor and well as odds a sends gift able items

  23. M.

Happened to stop at Michael’s today and grabbed 2 of these. Both bags contained about $50-$75 retail price but of course they really inflate the retail price. Who pays $9.99 for plastic ornaments that look like they came from the dollar tree? I got a few things that I’ll use but filled another bag right away to donate to my local thrift store.

  24. Nancy

I called several local craft stores in the metro area of Minnesota. They all had them. I went to one and spent $30 on 15 bags. The retail value was over $1,900. My haul had a wonderful holiday variety of wrap, ribbon, mesh wrap, decorative tape, figurines, pillows, tree skirts, mugs, plates, ornaments, holiday crafts, floral stems, wallet, phone cases, party gift bags, scrapbook, notebook, embellishments, gift tags, mesh pin board, signs, wall hanging and more. Most fun I have had so far this year, Thanks Collin!

  25. Brandy

Hah! I didn’t even check H2S and blogged about my bag that I picked up (totally random and not as a planned trip for these) http://windywilsons.blogspot.com/2016/01/2-grab-bag-revealed.html. I looooove when the grab bags come out. Kinda like gambling but usually winning (except all those 2014 graduation pens I “scored” a year ago made for a toddler’s hand grip. ๐Ÿ™‚

  26. Lynn

I went today 1/19 around 7pm in Maryland. There were MANY of those huge $2 boxes left! If I had more room in my house and didnt do any after Christmas shopping at Michaels the past few weeks I would have picked up more than 1 box. I’m very pleased with mine because I can donate to schools next year. Wish I can get more.

    • Rum

I live in MD too! But none of the locations I went to had them!! Which stores did you go to?? Thanks in advance…

  27. mona

Stopped by today to check it out, and was able to get 5 huge boxes for $10** . I added up the retail and it was over $1100.00 that’s is a savings of 99%. Thank you for the post.

  28. kirstenz59

Headed to Michael’s right when they open this morning. ..hoping my Brighton store has some

  29. Kate

    Does NYC have?

  30. Kirsten

Got 4 boxes…can’t wait to get home and go through them. The one I looked in has boxes of cards, ribbon, frames….3 more to dig through!

  31. Rebecca

Has anyone found any in NC? Thanks,

    • Chelsea

Yeah, I found some in Greensboro. Two stores-Bradford parkway and wendover avenue. Enjoy!

  32. Chernan

No boxes in the Naperville, Joliet, and Oswego locations. However, all 3 locations do have the grab bags.

  33. kirstenz59

So far I’ve gotten 22 boxes of Christmas cards, 5 rolls of ribbon and an ugly sweater kit….and that’s just 2 boxes!
