   Is 32 big enough for a small living room? I am not a tv watcher and do not care too much about visual quality big screens etc, but don’t want something that looks ridiculously small or I have to squint at

  you wont have to squint. 32 inches is 2 feet 8 inches so its not a tiny tv but not big its what people usually use in their bedrooms while they will have the big tv in the living room.

   Just an FYI student code will not work with this because they have it set up to apply to regular price, or sales price.
