Maybe because you put your legs in front of you using step stool, with this one your legs are on the side.

I hope it’s better than an ikea step stool. Because there’s no way that position is natural having two grown up sized feet squeezed on one tiny stool. It’s also not cheaper by much of any $5 a stool= $10 one for each foot+ $15 in shipping if you don’t live near one of the 24 states that are home to the 38 American stores. So $25 and tax for 1 I just paid $35 for 2 squats potties. (The kids step stools are usually $10-15 at Walmart so also $20-30+tax for 2 and they are bulky!)
