Anyone have this tablet? Wondering if it’s good for a 5 yo. Tia!!
My 6 year old likes his. The special offers are no big deal in my opinion. I’ve only ever seen an ad on the lock screen. We’ve never had space or speed issues even without an sd, and he has lots of apps.
We got one for our 4 yr old at Christmas and she loves it.
So glad to hear that Karla! Thanks for the feedback!
Tism! I’m looking to get it for my daughter as a bday gift.
My 8 and 10 year olds have this tablet and love it! They’ve had different models of this tablet for the last 3 years and we’ve had great experiences with all of them. Unlike previous models, this one has a slot for a memory card which allows you to increase your storage space as much as you like. We have an iPad and Kindles. The kids definitely prefer the Kindles. When we’ve encountered problems, Amazon has been great at helping to resolve them. Without hesitation, I would recommend this Kindle. If your kids are anything like mine, I would also strongly recommend investing in a good case/cover.
Thanks for such a helpful review Sandy! Good to know!
We have 2 of these and my husband has an iPad Air for work. I love his iPad Air for its ability to play a few games I like but comparing price!!!!! I will stick with my kindles(I have an older one just for the kitchen for recipes). With my sd card I have more memory on my kindle than the iPad Air. I’ve dropped mine several times with no case and no problems.
Oh man, just got this in the mail in Friday for the higher price. Bummer. So far so good. I think it is definitely worth the price.
Ask for a price match/adjust.
Thanks for the review Diana!
I purchased 2 of these at Christmas. They will do the job for the kiddos. 6 and 2 yr old. One tablet didn’t last 6 months. The touch screen goes haywire. When I called amazon they said they have had quite a few do that. But only a 90 day warranty. I also have an iPad I have had for 4 yrs with no issues what so ever..so you get what you pay for.
Wow, I am sorry to hear that Shane. I have had various models of Kindles for me and the kids for several years now and they’ve lasted at least 2 years each. I only encountered one issue and Amazon was fantastic, and it was a year old at that point. I wonder if it is worth calling and talking to a different rep.
Sorry to hear that the touch screen has not worked well 🙁 Thanks so much for the honest feedback!
We are planning on going on vacation soon. My kids will probably be using my iPads. I’m reading that the memory card doesn’t store books, music or movies. So what is it for? Not sure if this would be worth getting for a couple books on the plane? Appreciate anyone’s feedback on them!
They actually just did an update so it’s now possible. 2 of my kids have had the $50 tablet since Christmas and they’ve been great.
We have this kindle and love it for our 3-5 year olds. Memory slot has a 64gb memory card we got as gifts and we put in it, more than 50 videos of Curious George, Cat in the Hat, a few Disney movies and all the apps and downloadable books. Its been awesome for traveling and quick distractions. For this price and even reg price, totally worth it I think. Kids tablet seem so restricting whereas these, just put on parental password and airplane mode and voila, all set.
Thank you!! I still have a 20% credit for trading in my old one!!! Took off $8!!
Great score Gretchen! You’re so welcome!
I got this tablet for a 6 year old. Great buy. I did but extra memory as they don’t have wifi so they can download shows when they go somewhere that has wifi. I also got the 2 year warranty. Don’t have to worry if it gets dropped and broken.
Bough the 6 pack around Christmas and all but one have held up my youngest boys will not turn on anymore… I am so upset since summer is here I have added a reading app for him and now it has stopped working. I placed an order for my MIL for the $39 tablet and came back to this thread to get him one and the price has gone back up 🙁 I hope to see another sale because really liked his.
