  2. Laura

I’ve bought gift cards on here, wondering if anyone has any experiences with selling gift cards on here?

    • Pamela Stevens

I have sold a couple an they were bought by someone same day within minutes. I can’t remember how much of a hit on the value of the card it was to sell thru them.

  3. Debbie

Can you use the free $5 towards a gift card ?

    • Raise

The $5 you receive by signing up through Collin’s link will automatically be deposited into your account. After that, it will apply to your order for a gift card, yes!

I know someone that bought a Starbucks GC on here and transferred it to her account with no issue until she actually used it then Starbucks froze her acct and took all the money stating it was fraudulently purchases and raise wouldn’t do anything to help her. Ended up filing a dispute with CC company… be careful.

I recently had an issue with a raise card, but this was the first issue in over 50+ cards I’ve bought. I love this website and I go on it daily. I’m remodeling my kitchen and I bought a ton of lowe’s and home depot gift cards. The customer service team was awesome!! I’ll continue to shop here, I see it as savings on top of more savings. Thanks for the promo code, just bought a few cards to save for xmas. 🙂

  6. Diana

Im scared to purchase one from this site. Heard to many stories of gift cards having a zero balance.. :-/

    • Amanda M

I have bought countless gift cards from Raise, i just make sure to only buy E gift cards and I use them right away. I have had two cards that had a zero balance and they were super quick to issue a refund. I really thinks it’s worth it! hth

  7. Katie

I have had good luck with this site

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Glad to hear it Katie! Thanks for sharing!

I just wanted to share my Raise experience(s) because I know that so many people worry about buying gift cards this way. First of all, thank you Collin for sharing Raise, it has been such a wonderful savings tool for me and my husband. Second, if you have an issue, just call their customer service, they are super helpful and they are very good to Collins readers (let them know right off that you heard about them from Hip2Save. When I called, the cs lady told me “we love Hip2Save!” and she went out of her way to help me)

We have been able to save a LOT of money buy using Raise cards on appliance purchases, stacked with coupons and sales and shop your way rewards. I also love setting the alerts for cards that are harder to come by. Raise will notify you as soon as a card is listed and I have gotten some of my best savings by being the first one to jump on the alert. I was able to purchase my husband a Yeti cooler by grabbing a hot deal on a Cabelas gift card through an alert. Make sure to download the app and use it on your phone. It will also store your gift cards for you so that you can keep everything in one place. And I would say most importantly – don’t wait to use your cards. They have an awesome guarantee, but you can’t wait too long or it’s harder for them to look into (I think it’s 100 days)
    Thanks Hip2Save!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You are SO welcome! Thanks for the amazing feedback Erica! Glad to hear you have been able to score such awesome savings with Raise!

  9. Vanessa

I bought a Justice gift card from RAISE and had trouble redeeming it a second time as I didn’t use the full balance the first time. Since it had been over the 100 days RAISE told me there was nothing they could do. I explained I had used it the first time before the 100 day mark but that didn’t matter apparently. They said they would do an investigation and let me know but I never heard anything from them. I ended up calling Justice and they saw my remaining balance and handled the issue. Buyer beware of RAISE – use it all at once or all of it before the 100 days

    • Brenda

I too had issues and their customer service was horrible! Jcpenney wouldn’t even address the issues because I bought the gift card from Raise and Raise wouldn’t do anything because it was after their guarantee period. I lost over $50! Never will I purchase from them again!

    • Raise

We’re sorry to hear that, Stephanie and we apologize for the frustration. We do encourage our members to use their gift cards within our guarantee period, so we can provide a refund or compensation for any issues that arise. However, we can gladly look into your support ticket and follow up with you there. Please email support@raise.com with the subject line “Hip2Save Help” and our team will review. Thanks!

    • Becky

I work in retail and if Justice saw the balance on the card, then it was probably not a Raise issue, it was a gift card issue through that retailer, and that actually happens a lot. A balance isn’t just going to disappear and re-appear again, sometimes the gift card programs glitch. Probably not Raise’s fault, and mostly likely was a glitch on Justice’s end of things. Just mentioning because we honestly see this daily on normal cards. HTH 🙂
      Grabbed a Starbucks card, score!

      • Blessed

Be careful with the Starbucks . Do not add to your existing account. A lot of fraud in Starbucks gift card. Some one above mentioned. My credit card was used to buy Starbucks gift card. In the process of my research I found very common problem but once Starbucks gets the charge back they can and will shut down your card and take your original funds as well.

        • Raise

We’re sorry that happened to you! In order to provide the best assistance, we recommend that you not sync your gift card with existing Starbucks cards or accounts. Again, if there are any issues, just contact us so we can help!

  12. Brenda

Raise has horrible customer service and only guarantee the gift cards you buy for 30 days. There have been many scandals through them as well. I lost $50 because of them!

    • Raise

Actually we guarantee our cards for 100 days, Brenda! We’re sorry to hear your experience has been a negative one, please send us an email if we can be of any further assistance.

  13. AMBER

Under the fine print for the Starbucks Gift Cards on Raise it says “Do not transfer this card to your personal Starbucks account. Raise is not responsible for gift cards transferred to personal Starbucks accounts. Canadian Starbucks gift cards can be used at U.S. Starbucks locations.” Has anyone had issues with this? Why can’t we load it to our personal cards so we can earn stars?

    • Blessed

Because if it comes back that the card your purchased was purchased fraudulently Starbucks will shut down your account and take your original money as well. I mentioned this above but my credit card was used to fraudulently buy up a bunch of Starbucks gift card. My bank gave me my money back right away but it took a while for the full investigation to be completed so it probably takes the system a while to catch up.

    • Raise

Great question, Amber. Although each and every gift card is verified before being listed for sale, we want to ensure that we can assist you should an issue arise. Unfortunately if gift cards have been merged, it’s difficult for us to get the information we need to see what went wrong. We know Starbucks customers love their stars! Some Raise members have split up their Starbucks purchase between their Raise gift card and Starbucks accounts so they’re still earning stars.

  14. ER

Using Raise is like creating my own mini-sales for myself when I shop! Anytime I’m going out shopping or out to eat, I check Raise. I know I’ll use the card right away so I’m not worried about stockpiling cards and trying to keep track of whether or not I’ve used them. So far I’ve saved $269.51 by using Raise. Love love love!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Wow! SO awesome you have saved so much! Thanks for the great review!

  15. Anne

I do not understand how all of you people can post affiliate and referral links knowing that this is Collin’s website! I think it’s rude to try to take referrals away from her. You obviously use her site to save money yourself so BE RESPECTFUL and leave your links on your FB pages or websites.
