I went into our staples today, which is 30 min away and they told me that don’t price match any back to school deals or Black Friday sales. Bummer for me!! Does that vary depending on stores?

I’m in Southern California and was told the same thing a few weeks ago when I tried to do a back to school price match deal. However I have been successful at other times doing price match on printer ink and other purchases. One Staples near me was great about re-ringing me about a week afterwards so I could use my forgotten coupons. I was frustrated about the back to school thing but as I was typing this message I remembered the many other times I got great service and great deals. Interesting how my mind fixated on the one recent negative and forgot the past, more frequent positives. Note to self – looks like I need to keep a better perspective.
Staples is such an awesome store with great customer service. I price matched with Office Depot deals this morning and got money back from an Expo dry-erase starter set I had purchased a few days ago. The cashier was happy to do it. 😊

Ugh. Off topic. I know the sharing codes part of the site stopped but I need help. My son was in kindergarten last year and the school bought all the supplies and tote bags for kids last year and we picked them up at school and paid for everything there. I was under impression this occurred until grade 4. I just found out today that he not only needs supplies but also a backpack ! I have had all these emails from ll bean all summer but none now! I have to order tonight to get in time for school to start 8/29. If anyone has a code from a catalog or anything I’d be most grateful. I hate being misinformed and having to pay extra when I could have been planning ahead! Thanks in advance so much!😊
I had a problem too because I went to a different staples than I usually do. I felt so bad for the cashier I had…he was new. For one, he had no idea about the 110% price match. He asked the cashier next to him about it and she said that they don’t do that. They only price match ink. I showed her the circular that states they price match 110% for school. The manager was called and he had no problem price matching. Then I wanted to do the penny copy paper and girl cashier said I could only get 1. Again, the manager was called and said I could have my coupon scanned 4 times.Then before he left, I asked him about using manufacturer coupons and he had no problem adjusting down. That girl cashier kept rolling her eyes at me and she wasn’t even my cashier. My cashier kept apologizing cuz he was new. I felt bad but I got great deals!
That’s the reason I stopped doing a lot of couponing. Walking out feeling bad like you said. There’s no reason you should feel bad because you know their store policies better than they do. The girl rolling her eyes can keep rolling them.
