Heads Up PlayStation Plus Members…
Starting 9/22, PlayStation Plus membership prices are set to increase from $49.99 to $59.99 per year for yearly memberships and from $17.99 to $24.99 for three month memberships. The month-to-month membership will remain at $9.99 per month in the U.S.
Also, current memberships that renew on or after 9/22 will be charged the new prices, so if you don’t want to be charged at the increased rate, make sure to cancel before that date. To cancel, just turn off auto-renewal in your account settings.
This is the first price change for the U.S. and Canada since their launch and is reportedly taking place to reflect the current market conditions. No other changes are set to take place other than the above-mentioned price changes – all other membership features will remain unchanged.
With that said, you may want to consider purchasing membership now before the prices increase. While there are not currently any deeply discounted deals on membership prices, you can save $1.50 on a 12-month membership at Newegg.com at $48.49 (regularly $49.99). Hopefully we will see more deals on membership before 9/22. Let us know in the comments if you find any great prices!
