Very dissapointed in fitbit right now. My husband has this same model and it broke within 8 months of use 🙁

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh darn! Sorry to hear that Kim! 🙁 Were you able to grab a replacement?

    • cheryl

contact fitbit to get it replaced! my band is breaking at no fault of mine, I only had it for 5 months. I contacted them via email and they are replacing it and I should have it by next week.

Just FYI- my band broke after about 8 months. I contacted Fitbit and they are sending me a new one (warranty)- supposed to get it in the mail today! You might try reaching out?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awesome! Thanks for your feedback Lindsay! Glad to hear you can score a new band!

  3. Becki

My husband has had since Xmas and no problems. He wears daily and is a truck driver. In and out of weather, cold, etc and he is NOT easy on things. I am buying one!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Glad to hear how well his has held up through so many conditions! Thanks for the feedback!

  4. Denise

I have heard the bands break but I’ve have had no problems with mine. Had it since December. Works great! I love my Fitbit charge HR and I would recommend. 👍🏼

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sweet! Thanks so much for sharing Denise!

I wanted to buy one for my husband but I don’t know what size to get him. How do you know what size to buy or how big they are?

    • Becki

google the band lengths. I would think he probably needs a large unless he is very small/thin. I am average and am getting a large

Received one for Christmas and while I love the features, I am disappointed that the band started falling apart in July. Quality is definitely hit and miss with these.

    • Becki

someone else said ^ they have a warranty. Call them and they should replace!

      • Angela V.

Thanks Becki, but Costco already replaced it for me. 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Bummer! Thanks for the honest review!

I have the Charge HR, my friend got the Charge (not HR). We both got ours for Christmas and her husband got the Charge right after us. Both of their bands have already broken! Mine is still perfect. Maybe it’s that model (Charge, not HR)?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Interesting! Thanks for sharing your experience Angel!

I’ve had my Charge HR for about 15 months and have never had any issues! I wear it every day and it still looks and works great! My husband did have an issue with his but their customer service is phenomenal and he received a replacement in under a week. If you’ve been eyeing one, this is a great deal! I would recommend.

My Charge had a reduced battery life, when I contacted Fitbit they no longer had my previous Fitbit in stock, so they upgraded me to the Alta for free.

I am on my 3rd one because they kept breaking. Tip, do NOT charge in a wall charger or car charger, only a computer. The voltage is too high in the other means and shorts the Fitbit battery causing it to fail. I learned this the hard way. Twice.

Good news is fitbit has given me all the replacements free of charge. I love my fitbit!

  11. Jessica

Bought one last time you posted this and my husband loves his. No problems at all. Thank you

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yay! You’re very welcome Jessica! 🙂

Paid $150 when it came out. After 12 months, band broke but I held it together with a rubberband. At month 18, the button came off the side, making it useless for my needs.I contacted them and they said I was past the 365 day warranty but gave me a 25% off coupon code. Not worth it in my opinion, will not be repurchasing. Especially since I had to manually log in riding my bike, which is what I do the most. But this is a good price for those who want it 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sorry to hear yours did not hold up well. Thanks so much for the honest feedback!

    Is this a refurbished item?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

It is new and in it’s original packaging, however it has been opened and inspected for quality. Hope this helps!

Took my Charge HR back to Costco after two weeks when I discovered that the band is not a user-replaceable item. The CSR said they get a lot of them back because they fall apart.

The band on my Charge broke within the first six months. Since it was still within the first year, it was under warranty and replaced at no charge. The band on my second Fitbit also broke within six monhs. Fitbit would not replace the second one since this was beyond one year of the original purchase although both broke prior to one year of use. Fitbit offered me a 25% off coupon. Not a good option since there is obviously a problem with the band since it is very easy to find reports of similar issues.
