Can anyone comment as to how SAMs compared to Costco?

    Thanks!

    • Tiffany Clark

Very similar. I like Sam’s better, but others will say that they like Costco better. I would say, if one is closer to home than the other, there’s no sense in getting a membership at the one that’s further away unless it will be convenient for you to go there (proximity to other things you do regularly)

      Hope that helps. 🙂

We have both, both within minutes of us. However our Sam’s is smaller than our Costco, next to a full WM, carries smaller quantities and less crowded than Costco. For us they are different enough. Both don’t take manufacturer coupons, but they do give coupons.

    • Shannon

We have both. And, I like them for different reasons. Costco has a better selection of organic products and gourmet food. Sams is great for basics and I actually think they have a pretty good selection of clothing or at least better than Costco. Sams also has better hours, earlier and later hours.

We have been members of both. I’m a fan of both stores because they both have great sales, unique finds and good selection. I buy whichever membership is on sale at the time mine expires simply because they are the same distance from my home.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks for the feedback Ashley!

In our household we have had memberships to both stores. Both are phenomenal with their products and services. Sam’s Club works better for us because they keep more things in stock that our household uses on an everyday basis. I would check both out in your area before making your decision.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the helpful review! Glad to hear you have enjoyed your Sam’s Club Membership!

  4. Judy Trac

We do more at Sam’s bc they have more selections

  5. SherryCC

How do these coupons work? I remember SAMs clubs don’t take coupons. Has policy changed?

    • nancy

These are Sam’s club coupons, not manufacturer coupons, I think.

      • Sarah

        You are correct Nancy.

  6. Eunice

I received redplum yesterday and there was a coupon for FREE 60-day SAM’s club membership good only for new customers. Still thinking if I should try it.

  7. Diane

Check American Express Rewards. They will give you $45 off of a membership when you clip coupon. Free one year membership. New members only!!

    • pandoraaddict

Remember the AmEx is good in club only

  8. Emily

No costco near me. I love my sams plus membership. It costs $100, but shopping for a family of 6, the rewards in a year exceed the $100 mark making it better than free for me. I think you get $10 back for every 250 spent? ? I could have my # wrong though. They also run monthly specials that are great deals.

    • Just Me

They just had a deal with the $100 membership for $45 ( buy basic membership online get a free upgrade) You should look for that deal next time and save some cash. It happened last year in October or near Veterans Day and this year during Labor Day weekend ( don’t remember start date but it just ended Monday or Tues).

  9. Jer

Does any one know when this deal ends?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      This deal expires November 21st.

      • Jer

        Thank you!

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

          You’re welcome!

  10. Asa

They have very similar products overall but sometimes it depends on the brands you buy. Like for instance, Huggies diapers and wipes are sold at Costco, while Sam’s has Pampers brand.

    • Sarah

SAMs also has Huggies wipes-that is my go to place for them! Not sure about diapers though?

      • Elle

Costco only has Kirkland and Huggies. Sam’s has members mark, Huggies, and pampers.

  11. Ivan

I think eventually clubs like Sam’s, BJ’s and Costco won’t charge a membership fee. If they did away with it, the more customers would more than make up for the small yearly fee.

  12. Anna

our membership ends in October. Does anyone know how long you have to wait after your membership ends to take advantage of these types of deals again? thx!

    • Elle

I’ve heard before that it is 6 months? But I just signed up through a different email address and it was no problem.

      • Anna

Hope we don’t have to go 6 months. Thx!!

  13. Bryan Tibitoski

Sams has huggies diapers and wipes

  14. MIA

I had to wait one year after my Sam’s club membership expired in order to take advantage of the Sams Club Deal.

Can someone list the coupons please!
