AT&T Wireless: FREE iPhone 7 32GB with 24-Month Agreement AND iPhone 6 Trade-In
WooHoo! AT&T Wireless is ALSO offering new and existing qualifying customers a FREE iPhone 7 32GB or discounted iPhone 7 Plus Phone whenever you trade in a qualifying iPhone 6, 6s or 6s Plus Phone AND sign up for qualifying AT&T Next agreement (30 months) or AT&T Next Every Year Agreement (24 months).
Note that your savings will be credited to your account as recurring payments over 24-months, for a total promotional value of $650. Sounds good to me!

What a great deal- too bad it doesn’t include trade in of any iPhone 5’s which is what I have!
Would it discount a 128gb? I was going to give my mom my 6 but now I’m thinking she should just go turn it in and get herself a 7 as well
Can you trade in an iPhone 5s for a discount or anything?
Looks like anyone that has a grandfathered unlimited plan with AT&T doesn’t qualify as you have to agree to one of their “NEW” plans in addition to trading in your iPhone 6.
i was told if you have unlimted data that you wouldnt lose it!
That is not right. First of all Next plan is payment plan for purchase of phone. Second, in order to lose your data/minutes you have to change that plan. These are two independent things.
Angie, I’m a long time customer like you. They don’t care to retain us. We are looking to switch to Verizon. Best of luck.
You can try going to at&t store. I was able to keep my “unlimited” plan although I did not trade in my phone.
Angie- Do you mind sharing where you read that? I talked to someone at ATT and they said no. I don’t completely trust them though. 😉
Thanks 🙂
Yikes, I have the grandfathered plan too:(
Is this offer different from the one requiring you to get/keep DirecTV for 24 or 30-months?
Sorry. Maybe I’m missing something, where is the great deal, 2 year contract plus giving them your old phone doesn’t equate free to me.
You’re just paying for it over the course of the contract rather than up front, aren’t you?
No they are CREDITING the amount to your bill each month. So you aren’t making a payment. That’s how it’s free.
Cost neutral may be a more accurate term then free You need to turn in an iPhone 6, which must be fully paid off, but does still have value you if you would sell it Probably not worth $650 so there is a small gain. But AT&T would hook you for two more years
I have ATT as well and grandfathered into unlimited data. Is there an option to just get another 2 year contract or whatever and pay the $300 for the phone no trade in as we’ve done in previous years?
I don’t want ATT Next and I certainly don’t want to trade my phone in. I want a contract and get phone at discounted price as usual. That’s it lol
No, AT&T does not have that option anymore (at least for the iPhone). You have to either buy the phone at full price or sign up for the Next payment plan. In this case, they credit you each month for the cost of the monthly payment.
BEWARE!!!!! ATT’s upgrade is a RIP-OFF. They finally updated their website with the trade-in offer details. If you read the fine print, it says 1. $650 will be paid in monthly installments but you won’t get your first payment until after 3 months and 2. payments may cease if you pay off your phone early and/or upgrade your phone. So, for folks like me who are on the Next Every Year program, I will give ATT my iphone 6 now. In 3 months they’ll begin to credit me $27.05/mo AFTER 3 months. Next year, when I want to upgrade (remember, I’m on the plan that lets me upgrade every year) my credits will stop so I’ll only have received at most 9 months of credits for a total of $243.45 of the $650 I was told I’d get for trading in my iphone 6 for an iphone 7, plus I’ll have to turn in my iPhone 7. Think before you proceed with these promos! I’m much better off selling my phone on ebay or craigslist or trading it in to Apple and buying an UNLOCKED phone directly from Apple.
Actually, it’s even less. It’s only $162.54 (6 mo @ $27.09) because you have to make 3 months of installment payments BEFORE they will even begin to issue statement credits.
They give you the 3x monthly credits on the 3rd month to catch up. They just want to wait for the BRE period to make sure you keep the device. So on the third month you’ll get 27.09×3
I gave up the unlimited data awhile back for “free phones” that I paid for over 2 years and joined the family next plan. I totally regret giving up the unlimited data. Gone are the real free phone deals. I will be buying all my future phones independently and not from AT&T.
This is the best option and I agree. I also will buy my phones outside of att and just put my sim card in. Tired of the bill getting higher just to get a phone.
Att now offers a new plan called the advantage plan. This plan does not charge for any overages on data. For example…I have been with them for 8 years. I was considering changing companies. They changes my plan to the advantage plan with 6gb of data, however if I go over that amount I am not charged thus making it unlimited so to speak.
