Are you and the kids struggling with how hectic school nights are?
Make this brilliant and easy DIY kids routine clock project to create some structure and establish your family’s routine in the evenings. Keep everyone on track and aware of expectations! It takes just a few minutes (and a couple of supplies) to make.
DIY Kids Routine Clock
For this Project You’ll Need:
- Establish an after school and evening schedule, and assign a different color for each block of time.
- Color the face of the clock with the colors you have decided for each task. For example, in our home, the schedule would go playtime and snack after school, then homework, dinner, bath, reading, and bedtime.
Another more permanent option would be to take off the back off the clock and use markers to actually color the white part of the clock. I decided to just stick with dry erase so I can change or add things to the routine.
Write out each task on the clock, or make a chart mapping out what each color means, and then hang it up next to the clock on the wall, so it’s easy to reference..
I love this idea for after school, but you could definitely use it for morning routines, too. I’ve even seen a similar idea using red and green markers so younger kids know when it’s too early to get up in the morning! 😉
