I’m planning a family trip to Boston in December, hoping the kids will get to see snow. Anyone know if these are warm enough for Boston cold weather? (I know I need to layer the kids up, but is this thick enough). Any suggestions?

Kristy, my daughter has this purple jacket. It is definitely not for winter. She wears it to school in the mornings now (45-50F) Nice rain jacket, but not for winter in Boston.

Boston gets pretty cold in the winter… its not far from the ocean. You will likely need full winter gear… winter coats, scarves, hats and gloves. These coats seem more appropriate for fall or spring.

They look to be fairly thin to me.

    Ok thank you!

I would not buy one for a MN winter, but maybe if you had a fleece zip up or something underneath. We would wear something like this in fall or spring. Boston’s weather in December is variable though. If you are from the south, you will probably wish you had something warmer, but it may not be worth spending the money on something better just for a few days or week.

Thank you for the feedback. We’re from Texas, so very experience with cold weather. Our temps dropped to the high 60s last week, and both my kids complained they were cold. Looks like I should search for something warmer then 🙂

Do you have family or friends in Boston? We have let our neighbor borrow some of our kids extra winter gear when their grandkids visit from AZ.

I’ll ask around – thanks for the tip!

Prices are going up! I had a few of the girls jackets in my cart and I came back and all had almost doubled in price except for one.
Very thankful to to be able to grab one for my little one at the low price! ( I purchased the pretty purple one pictured in the post)
