My husband loves this and uses it for his passwords… I just write mine on post-it notes and tape it to the inside of my computer cabinet… I’m guessing his way is safer… Lol
Lol! Thanks for sharing Michelle!
Is this really safe? Can anyone with this organization get in and have access to all your passwords?
From their website:
“Only you know your master password, so only you can access your information in your encrypted vault – not even LastPass can. All of your data is sealed with AES-256 bit encryption, salted hashing, and PBKDF2 SHA-256.”
I don’t believe it- EVERYTHING CAN BE HACKED
I use it with all my bank & credit card info and everything else. It’s reliable & very convenient. It allows me to use complicated passwords generated by LastPass.
Our family LOVES LastPass!!! We have been using it for many years. You only need to remember one password because you can set it up to automatically log you into whatever site you are visiting. It’s easy to use.
Awesome to hear that! Thanks for the great feedback!
No thanks..id rather write them down. I dont trust anyone with important passwords from banks and credit cards.
I’m with you!
Not safe at all. I’d rather write down my passwords on a notebook or on a piece of paper and tuck it inside one of my books
I have been using this for about 2 years now and LOVE it. I pay for it every year and don’t regret it one bit!
Cool! Thanks for sharing Michele!
This is a trial period for 60 days.
Where does it say that? I’m not seeing it
The personal account is free. There is just a business account option listed lower on the screen that is a paid account with free trial, but that is a separate thing.
I got the same response – welcome to your 60 days trial….
Do not write your passwords down and store in a book or cabinet. That leaves you vulnerable to so many things. Any person that comes into your home could find it. Or you could give the book away after forgetting the paper is in it. Yes, anything electronic can be hacked but that requires so much more skill then picking up a book.
If you are considering this, you might want to google “Lastpass hacked”. They were hacked in 2015. I strongly recommend you look at something like KeePass where you control the encryption key at all times. Create an encrypted container for all your passwords, encrypted it and then put it on Google drive or Dropbox. Even if they get hacked, the files can’t be read because they are encrypted. Just make sure your master key that gets you into the container is a long, complex one. There’s a mobile app as well but, well….mobile apps are also easy to hack.
My husband is a security networking engineer and swears by LastPass. They have never been compromised or “hacked.” Even if they were, all your passwords are heavily encrypted. LastPass does not actually store your passwords on their servers in a way that is “hackable.” Any articles about it may have sensational headlines, but if you read through you can find that they weren’t actually compromised.
Dashlane is a free app for user names and passwords as well. I learned of it through Goodhousekeeping magazine. Not sure if it works on desktops, etc.
There is both a free version and a Business Paid Version (that has a free trial).
