I was able to take advantage of some of the pre-Black Friday sales this past week. 2 comforter inserts from Target for 40% off. And I usually get a set of sheets from Belk which I went ahead and bought today with free shipping. I always like to visit Stein Mart on Black Friday because they have a $10 off $10 coupon in their sales ad with the possibility of a higher dollar off coupon. Last year they had their clearance an additional 60% off plus the $10 coupon.

    • Anne

Katie thank you so much for posting this. I had been looking for a duvet insert and flannel sheets so I bought king size in both from Target last night for $46 total!!! The reviews were so great too!
Also we just moved near a Steinmart so I’ll have to check them out on Black Friday!

    • Anne

I just checked the Target site and the deal is even better now with a $10/$50 code! Reordered and saved $5 ๐Ÿ˜Š

  2. Bob

Does anyone know what is the best deal for an ipod touch, the lastest one??

    • Jen

I would love to know this too! The best I have seen so far is 20% off in the Target Black Friday ad. I am hoping they have a sale on them before Black Friday. I have bought several in the past (I have 4 kids) and I always got them at Target with a deal that including getting a free Target gift card with purchase. I don’t think the deals on these are as good or as frequent anymore because the iPhone is so popular.

  3. Michelle

Oh we always go Black Friday shopping as a group with friends… It is much more about having fun and getting “steak and shake” at some odd hour of the night… For the most part I’m done with most of my shopping but try to finish on Black Friday… There are always those few deals that u can only get that night… I just wish the stores would stagger their times more and start closer to midnight…๐Ÿ˜‹

    • Crystal

So funny! My friends and I do the exact same thing, including Steak ‘n Shake, and we agree- midnight shopping is much better. We can shop at 6pm any day!!

  4. Mika

Does anyone know which store will have the best deal of winter coats and Kindle Paperwhite on Black Friday?

  5. ashley

    expires today…
$30 off $60 at staples.com only on regular priced stuff

    • Niki

Thanks Ashley! I used to restock my paper plates paper towels and trash bags:) I absolutely hate paying full price

  6. Jessica

Has anyone seen any deals on a balance bike?

    • Kristi

Overstock.com has a wooden one for 30% off right now and the Radio Flyer one is $10 off on the Toys R Us website.

    • Kmc1021

My daughter’s therapist said to just buy a regular bike and take the pedals off. Same purpose and you don’t have to buy a new one later.

      • Susie

        Brilliant!

      • Erin

That’s how both my kids learned.

  7. Mella

I’m going to brave Toys R Us for the first time this year. Anyone done that store before? How many of their “door busters” do they usually have in stock?

    • DeanOC

I worked there in college, the lines rival Best Buy (IMO Best Buy and Toys R Us are the two most frantic stores) they have a decent number of the door busters but the line will wrap around the building hours before opening and obviously they don’t have hundreds of the door busters so be sure to get there early if there’s a must buy. I’ve heard some of the stores started only letting so many in at a time. It is MUCH more organized than Walmart though!

    • Julie

I stumbled upon toys r us the day night thanksgiving a few years ago to find that many of the deals they are offering for Black Friday are stocked and out—some are priced at their Black Friday sales and others are just a dollar or two more—which is completely worth my time to not have to come stand in line. Our toys r us line is wrapped around the entire building several hours before it even opens. Depends on what you are hoping to buy but it’s worth a stop in to see that Wednesday. It’s a ghost town in there that day.

    • Carla

I’ve gone here in the last few years for BF, being the first person in line and then going once the store has been open for a day and a half or so and have been surprised that the doorbuster are still left the second day! That happened twice. For 3 years, I’ve waited until Friday or Saturday and everything I wanted was still there but it just depends on what you want. If it’s electronics you want, I’d say you need to be there early, probably in line a few hours before opening time

  8. laurat

I plan to do all online shopping rhis year for deals. Im holding out for deals on a plasma car, train set and/or train table and ride on vehicles.

    • Rachel

In case you haven’t seen it, Walmart has a 50 piece set with train table for $37 in Black Friday ad I’m looking at!

      • candace

Bought this same one last year. 2 year old loves it. He does hide the pieces everywhere however…

    • Diane

If you collect Pampers points they have the plasma car for 6000 points. Ikea trains are great. And very inexpensive. Just don’t get the red lift bridge until your child is around 5. I have Brio trains from when my kids where little 30 years ago and the Ikea sets they sell today work with them. My grandson has the Ikea sets at his house and my daughter has borrowed a few pieces that Ikea doesn’t have and they work fine together. Like another poster said the trains get built all over the house so I wouldn’t pay too much for a train table.

Does any one know of a good on Apple Watch series 2?

    • Katie

I’m also keeping my eye out for an Apple Watch Series 2 for my husband. Best price I have seen is $369. Kohl’s does have Kohl’s Cash which ends up being over $100 for this one purchase. That’s the only thing I’ve seen to make one purchase any better than the other.

      • Miri

Thank you Katie! That’s the best price I have seen too ๐Ÿ™ I feel like last year they offered more deals on the series 1 watch!

  10. Vanessa

Does anyone know where I can get an elf on the shelf on sale??

    • Alex

The only place I’ve ever seen them go on sale was at Bealls- it was last year on Thanksgiving/maybe Black Friday too they were half off

      • Vanessa

Thank you! I’m away on business so I’ll be able to go shopping this year! Lol I’ll check them out. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • ashley

I just seen Michael’s has them, I don’t know how much they are, but I’m hoping to.get one tomorrow with a 50% coupon.

      • Alex

Most stores don’t accept coupons for Elf on the Shelf unfortunately- that’s why I was so surprised when I saw them half off last year

      • Sandy

Michaels and Ac Moore coupons do not work on elf on the shelf. Something about the manufacturer not allowing for the use of a coupon on elf on he shelf products. Ac Moore has signs all over their store stating no coupons can be used. The Michaels coupons indicates that the elf on the shelf is excluded from coupons.

      • ashley

Oooh, I knew it to good to be true! I thought it might work at Michael’s because when I seen it the other day, I asked someone who worked there and they went and asked a manager and came back and said yes could use a coupon on it, but I had to buy other things that day and couldn’t get it then.

        • Vanessa

          Darn!!

    • Sandi

I just bought an Elf Pet at Barnes and Noble with a 20% off coupon plus got an additional 10% off for being a Member there. I think on Black Friday they’ll have a coupon for 30% off. (They did last year).

    • Traci

If you live in the dfw area you can HAVE mine. I haven’t even opened the box-bought it and realized it’s just too much work for me ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

      • Vanessa

Haha I wish thank you! I’m in Texas on business and fly back to Chicago two weeks before Christmas ๐Ÿ™

      • Vanessa

Tracy if you’d be willing to ship for me I’ll pay for shipping! Send me an email if you are ๐Ÿ™‚ Vanessa.escutia@gmail.com

      • Erin

It doesn’t have to be! Don’t for fall for all the overachievers’ hype on Facebook! All you have to do is move it every day. Kids just like looking for it.

        • Val

I love moving the Elf on the shelf, although I did forget once last year. (actually slept through the night) The next night our elf left a note that he was sick and had tiny tissues.

Anybody see any good iPad deals yet? TIA

    • Anna

      Wondering the same

    • Ger

Target usually has great iPad deals! I bought mine & my girls iPads couple years ago. I think pre-Black Friday was better deals for me without having to fight the crowds.

  12. Lori

Anybody know any deals for the 2ds and or 3dsxl

    • Jen

I have not seen any 3ds XL deals yet. I believe the regular size 3ds is in the Walmart Black Friday ad for $99.99. Also, I have seen the 2ds with a Mario game already installed for $79.99. My son wants the 3ds XL so I have been looking but these are the only deals I have seen so far. I am trying to convince my son that the regular 3ds is just as good as the XL (just smaller) and not worth an extra $100 for the XL version but his brother has the XL (older version paid $129 last Xmas) so that is what he wants.

  13. Joy

I go out every Black Friday as well. Lots of people have fun with it, and I myself happen to enjoy the experience of getting a good deal. So what does it matter to you?? Why be so negative towards those of us that like Black Friday? Not everyone is a hypocrite.

    • tleeg

I didnt call anyone specifically a hyprocrite, did i? But if one minute youre in a Anti-Black Friday rant…and the next youre asking where to get yourself a discounted toaster, then youre a hyprocrite.

      • Joy

I don’t believe I said you called anyone out, but you certainly seemed to lump everyone here commenting into the hypocrite pile. I must have missed a post with all the complaints about Black Friday because all I’ve read on this post so far is positive things.

      • Mel

        Oh c’mon.

  14. MamaMia

    iPhone 6a deals?

  15. DeanOC

Nope no hypocrite here, I have no moral issues with Black Friday shopping. I survived working retail holidays others will too ๐Ÿ™‚ and please, like I’d waste perfectly good BF time on a toaster lol.

    • candace

Noone has issues with black Friday….it’s Thanksgiving being open. Most of the best deals are on actual Thanksgiving now. I’ll shop Black Friday or go online but people don’t love working on actual Thanksgiving and some places won’t even let you request off. Husband can’t request off of Walmart but they do give him a one day extra 15% off coupon to stack with his already 10% so atleast its an incentive. So now we do Thansgiving the night before with our family because of that which is a little against the point :/

      • Stephanie

I actually DO love working Thanksgiving!

  16. Barbara

I just wanted to take a minute and Thank Colin and her amazing H2S helpers who always find us the Best deals all year long!

I am so appreciative to have all these Black Friday deals in one location! Because of the great deals I have already have been able to score I have been able to give as well. Best part my two teenage daughters are giving as well!

Have a Wonderful day and holiday season!

    • Mal

I agree, Thank you Collin and Team for all of your hard work and time spent helping everyone find amazing deals.

    • Lindak

Agreed. I was planning to sort through all of the deals today and here they are in a nice list. Thanks so much! Now if I could just get my adult sons to give me an idea on what they’d like for a gift…..

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Aww, thanks all for the kind comments and feedback! You are SO welcome! ๐Ÿ˜€

  17. nydia

I haven’t been out shopping on a black Friday in about 10 years. I’ve learned to start shopping early, watch for good deals in the weeks prior (40% off Target towels last week, 50% off clearance at banana republic last month and the amazing deals posted on this site every day, for example) and I now spend a lot less money on gifts. I avoid the crowds and I get to spend the day doing something fun with my family.
Christmas shopping in September definitely takes some getting used to, I’ll tell you that lol

  18. Jennifer

Nice List! I don’t usually go out anymore. My grandma and I used to go together, but when she fell ill a few years ago we stopped. It isn’t the same without her. I still usually go out that am to a local sporting goods store and get wool socks and pick something up with their 30% coupon. But with most of the deals online, I won’t be braving the crowds OR cold.

  19. Roxy

does anyone know of any good deals on film for instax cameras? Thank you.

    • Wendi

In the past I’ve bought it at Michaels using a “50% off a regular-priced item” coupon.

  20. jhlmom

Has anyone seen any good deals on the teenage mutant ninja turtles action figures? Thanks a bunch!!!

  21. Joanna

Is Michaels not doing their free gift card giveaway this year?

  22. Ann

Anyone know if u can get the Wal-Mart kids bikes on line or do u have to go in-store

  23. Lasha

Thank you very much for this amazing post Collin! I wanted to ask a quick question, is there a deal on Apple Laptop Charging Chord? They usually cost 85$, I was hoping they would be on sale for Black Friday. Thank you in advance for your help!
