Walmart Pay: Spend $100+ In-Store w/ American Express Card = Free $20 Walmart eGift Card

Through December 31st, whenever you spend $100 or more in-store at Walmart with any American Express Card using Walmart Pay, you can score a $20 Walmart eGift Card! Go here for details.
Here’s what you’ll need to do…
- Load your American Express Card into your Walmart Pay account
- Use your American Express Card to make an in-store purchase of $100+ through Walmart Pay at any US Walmart store by December 31st, 2016
- A $20 Walmart eGift card will be loaded into your Walmart Pay account by Walmart after you complete your qualifying purchase.
How does Walmart Pay work?
To use Walmart Pay, you must create a Walmart.com account and/or update your profile to include a preferred payment method. While in the store, you will checkout as normal at any lane, then click on Walmart Pay within the Walmart app.
After entering your unique 4-digit security PIN or using Touch ID, hold your phone over the QR code to scan. When your transaction is complete, you will hear a sound signaling transaction confirmation along with a push text confirmation with your eReceipt. A message will also appear on the item reader stating “TRANSACTION COMPLETE ERECEIPT SENT”.
Wondering about whether this would work if you were to buy gift card(s) to make up the $100. I don’t see any problem with that in the specifics of the deal…?

Just got back from Walmart. Bought a gift card and a few other small items to get me over $100. Used Walmart pay with my Amex, got home and $20 gift card was already added to my Walmart pay account automatically. Didn’t have to do anything special at all. Deal is legit and is able to get by buying a Walmart gift card. Nice free $20 to use later. Thank you

Explain the in-store process, step by step:
Scan your items at any staffed or self-checkout register.
A unique QR code is displayed on the debit reader screen, you may scan it before, during or after items have been scanned.
Open the Walmart app and select Walmart Pay.
Enter your 4-digit PIN or Touch ID for security.
Hold your Smartphone over the QR code on the PIN reader to sync with Walmart Pay.
Once the transaction is complete, you will receive a push notification and an eReceipt. You’re all done!

I cannot find Walmart pay on the app. Does anyone know where to sign up for it and add the AMEX.
On the little 3-bar icon indicating menu..upper right or left hand corner. Then when it expands out you’ll see walmart pay in the list! I just did it!
I have the Walmart app recently downloaded it and I have American Express as preferred card but I don’t see Walmart pay anywhere with in this app. Any other suggestions?

Log in to the app and scroll down on the main page. You’ll see a “Walmart Pay” icon.

I use Walmart pay all the time (super easy!) but have never seen the Amex offer. Adding my Amex now and will report back after my evening trip!

Deal is legit. Site just gives you details about it. I didn’t sign up for anything, just used my Walmart pay and gift card automatically added to my account.
Does anyone know if you could use an American Express gift card to pay (loaded onto Walmart Pay, of course)? I don’t have an American Express credit card.
If so, right now Kroger/Smith’s has a digital coupon for $5.95 off a $100 American Express gift card … could be a good combo if you shop both places.
